Three minute walk to Downtown Gilbert from the Not So Tiny Cottage!
The Not So Tiny Cottage is a 1930's restored bungalow right in the heart of the Gilbert Heritage District. The bungalow has been lovingly restored but now has modern conveniences so it is better than the original. The bungalow offers a vintage farmhouse feel with modern appliances and high-end fixtures, and a farmhouse sink. The bathroom has a large beautiful shower and a vintage dresser turned into a sink console with plenty of drawers. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, a vintage dresser, and wall to wall closet for all your things. We recently added a private outdoor shower just outside the master bedroom which has been used nearly every day by our current guests during the warm summer months! The den/office has a desk with computer monitor. The desk in the office converts to a dining table and there are extra folding chairs in the closet. It also has twin size daybed if there are three of you or two friends traveling together who each want their own space. .
The extra-large front porch is perfect for enjoying morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. There is a peaceful outdoor dining area under a vine-covered pergola. Lush landscaping in the huge yard makes this a peaceful oasis in the heart of the town. It is also a paradise for your furry dog friends.
The Not So Tiny Cottage is a three-minute walk to the heart of Downtown Gilbert. This is a perfect location to be close to all that Downtown Gilbert has to offer. Enjoy the Saturday Farmer’s Market. Take in a show at the Hale Theater. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a Friday Movie in the Park at the Gilbert Community Center steps away from the Not So Tiny Cottage. There is a large covered porch as well as two patios and a large yard, perfect for outdoor dining or front porch sitting. You can walk to everything from here.
The house has high-speed internet, smart tvs in each room, a fully stocked kitchen, linens, towels, and a brand new washer/dryer. Well-behaved adult dogs are welcome. You will have a doggy door with access to a huge fenced yard lush with landscaping that is ideal for your furry little friend. Sorry--no cats. This is a strict, no-smoking property inside and out. Inquire about monthly rates. This is our second home and we stay here during parts of the year to visit nearby family. We welcome you to the Not So Tiny Cottage. Please make yourself at home!

It was so relaxing to go out every morning and sit and listen to the birds, watch the quiet, friendly neighborhood awaken as kids went to school, dogs went on walks, hummingbirds flew by to say hello. Inside the decor was charming and comfy and I had everything I needed. I felt safe and cozy my entire stay and I plan on coming back!
My wife and I booked this beautiful cottage to celebrate our 34th anniversary. This house served our needs very well. It is well stocked with the essentials and the "welcome book" had all of the pertinent information needed to work all of the TV's, Wi-fi, etc. The location is wonderful, and the price is right. All went very well.
My husband and myself had a lovely two week stay at the Gilbert cottage. It was perfect for the two of us and we really liked that we could walk easily to the Gilbert market and theatre and great restaurants. We will definitely be back!
The location of this property was ideal, as well as the property size with landscaping and porch gave it a feel of being secluded. Would recommend this location to others looking for a place to stay in Gilbert
The cottage was exactly what I wanted. A walk into town for great dining and coffee. The cottage was well stocked and welcoming. I will come back if we have more soccer tournaments in Mesa.
I've stayed at many vacation rentals on many platforms. This cottage is by far the best place I've ever stayed. I only wish Mary & Philippe had more availability so I could stay longer.
Immaculately clean, warm, welcoming, comfortable beyond belief and in a safe and walkable part of town. Mary & Philippe have thought of every single thing and made this lovely cottage truly feel like home. I can't say enough great things about this stay. I strongly encourage others to stay and experience this beautiful home.
Me and my husband loved our stay here. We enjoyed the privacy of the property and how close it was to downtown and the freeway! We would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to town.
We were able to get away for several days and really enjoyed using this cottage as our home base. Quiet, close to lots of delicious food, Hale Theatre, Farmers Market, etc. Will definitely stay here again the next time we come to town :)
All and then more. Experience grows even grander as great physical comforts, logistical advantages of location, and endless over the top amenities are discovered. A+
Loved everything - the house is listed as the not so tiny house but it was plenty of space. My wife works from home and they have an awesome separate room/office that worked perfect. The Wi-Fi is really good and she never had any issue.
The kitchen is a full sized kitchen and well equipped. The bedroom is perfectly good as well.
The front yard is absolutely wonderful especially this time of year - we had our dog with us who is used to an apartment and she spent 95% of her time out there.
The hosts were extremely quick to answer questions and could not have been nicer.
And the best part is you are a few minutes walk to downtown Gilbert - which has a lot of restaurants and bars. We took our dog most every night to a new spot - could not have been more convenient.
100% recommend
Stayed for a month..very well equipped for longer term stays. My dog loved the fenced property. Mary has created a very cozy and comfortable home. She was very quick to respond to any correspondence. She also offers a nice discount for longer stays.
I stayed here several times recently while traveling for work. The location is perfect. I enjoyed walking downtown and finding someplace to people watch and enjoy dinner. The cottage has everything you could need and plenty of space for a family of 2-3 plus dog. My dog hasn’t seen grass in years and loved the large yard. Highly recommend the Not so tiny Cottage!
We enjoyed our time at the Not So Tiny Cottage. Very comfortable for two people. It was nice to have a front porch to sit on in the morning and watch the wild lovebirds in the trees. It is definitely someone's home when not being rented and the neighborhood has a lot of close houses but it was always quiet at night. Did not love the memory foam mattress though and the height of the bed would be difficult for some people. But the location was ideal!
We loved our stay at this beautiful cottage! Equipped with everything you need to feel at home and comfortable. Especially enjoyed sitting outside listening to the neighborhood birds, including several pairs of lovebirds. Easy walk to many great restaurants. We didn’t want to leave!
Our stay in this quaint bungalow was amazing.
Clean, comfortable and cozy. Perfect location.
Thank you 😊

My husband and I restored the Not SO Tiny Cottage in Gilbert over several years with a lot of love, blood, sweat and yes, some tears! We travel quite a bit and live in Surf City, North Carolina for part of the year and in Gilbert as well. We also spend time in Alberton, Montana during the summer so we rent our home to guests when we are not there. We have four grandchildren. My oldest son is currently serving in the US Army. My youngest son and his wife manage the property for us and they live about five minutes away. We have lived in Arizona for about 30 years and love our sweet little neighborhood in Gilbert. We welcome all to our home. As they say in the South, "All y'all are welcome here." :-)
Why they chose this property
We have rented to winter visitors who come for Spring Training season, travel nurses on temporary assignment, wedding guests, Snowbirds, vacationers, and to people needing temporary housing while moving for a new job or purchasing a home. or renovating a home. Located so close to downtown but in a peaceful, historic neighborhood with many small homes dating back 70 years, this is a sweet little home for people who want to have a peaceful place to land after a long day. Our Not So Tiny Cottage is a sanctuary and yet so very close to a wonderful vibrant downtown which is THE place to be in the East Valley. People love that you can walk to the heart of downtown in two to three minutes from the Cottage. The Saturday Farmer's Market is a quick two minute walk from our block.
What makes this property unique
We live in this property part of the year-- it is our home and not strictly a rental. In a time when vacation management companies and investors have taken over the short term rental market, we feel strongly that you know this is a home for use and not just an investment where you are just a reservation. The Not So Tiny Cottage has all the touches of home, including a large library of books you are welcome to use while here. We have everything you could possibly need to prepare a meal, including spices and oils, if you prefer to dine in. Or, you can walk to over 20 restaurants three minutes from your front door. We keep paper goods and lots of coffee and tea stocked for your stay and occasionally you will find pantry items (not opened) left by previous guests (including us when we stay!) who did not want to waste them. Feel free to use what is there. Our housekeeper has been with us for years. We adore her and she knows exactly what to do to make sure the cottage is spotless for you and you have all the essentials. We have truly enjoyed hosting people and providing the respite they need for a short-term stay. We welcome well-behaved dogs and know they will love the large yard and their own doggy door. Even big dogs are welcome here! We expect you to make yourself at home and are committed to providing everything you need.
