NEW LISTING ☼ Unique Oceanfront Home. Separate boat rental available.
Panoramic Oceanfront and island view direct sunrise. Nature preserves and hiking trail next door and nearby. Away from tourist traffic but convenient to restaurants, sailing club, shopping, etc.
Home was built in 2006. Immaculate with new furniture. Unique home with 36 windows throughout capitalizing on view from nearly every room.
Second floor has master bedroom and bath suite with tub and upstairs sitting area. Incredible views. Queen Sleeper in room downstairs with half bath. Third single bed convertible couch sleeping area. Oceanfront patio with gas grill connected to house propane tank.
Home receives Sebago Bay water from Portland which is excellent during warm weather. Refrigerated water cooler and water supplied. During the Winter/ cold months house is supplied with well water. It is salty and quite good for bathing. Too salty for drinking but entirely safe.
Peaks Island is one of dozens of Island situated in Casco Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. It is the most accessible to Portland and the only one served with the Car Ferry. We believe it is one of the most beautify and definitely the most livable and convenient to Portland. Ferries run from Portland about every hour from approximately 6 a.m. to nearly midnight. There are hourly car ferries 7 days a week. The schedule varies day to day and depending on the month. The Ferry ride is extremely scenic and only 15 minutes on the water.
To reach the home take the car ferry with your vehicle or without. There is a very reliable Taxi service for 3 dollars a person to the house which meets every Ferry. You will have a scenic 2 mile drive to the property around Seashore Drive. Some like to rent a golf cart near the Ferry dock. Bicycles rentals are available near the dock. There are two for your use at the house as well.
The Casco Bay Ferry schedule is always posted on the Internet. Please call us whenever you need logitical or any further information.
Just to note. There are two standard Nest outside security cameras on the property viewing the Ocean conditions and the Street coming in. One is above the front door and the other, the oceanside sliding door. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
From the third week of October through the third week of May the city switches the water to well water. During this time dishes have to be manually washed with provided filtered water to avoid saltwater residue.

We loved our stay at Ocean Spray Rd, this house is beautiful and cosy, ( we stayed in late Autumn ) is is so well stocked, with every possible need met. From a fantastic range of hair care and skincare products, if I’d forgotten my own, to plentiful filtered water for our use. I just can’t find enough words to explain how perfect it is here, an absolute idyll, away from the hustle and bustle of the big city, ( we started our journey in NYC, after travelling out from the UK )
We didn’t leave the island during our 4 night stay, with the views and the house being quite enough for our needs.
Book with Nikki for a wonderful vacation experience. Easy to access the property, and great communication should you need any help.
The property exceeded our expectations - such a beautiful spot, loved falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks! Place was very clean & we'll appointed - had everything we needed for our stay!
We had a short mishap after check-in, however, Nikki quickly fixed the situation. The location of the property is breathtaking. Wonderful home to stay, and we would visit again.
Everything was perfect: location, comfort and amenities.
The view are breath taking, access to to small strip of beach down the road for swimming, great bikes and outdoor chairs (super comfortable), ample seating areas, well stocked kitchen (I loved the tiny spoons and crushed ice) and even a washer and dryer. We look forward to returning.
From the moment you walk in, the view from the large picture window takes your breath away! The cool ocean breeze and sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks lull you to sleep at night. Clean, comfortable with all the amenities you need. Definitely recommend!
Best spot on the back shore! Views from every room in the house! One of the few properties that is on the ocean side of the street on the backshore. I happened to be up at 4:30am for the most beautiful sunrise. Super clean, and has everything you need for your stay on Peaks. We will absolutely be back again.
We enjoyed it so much -- the comfortable beds, the views... we decided to come back next year! The views are really unique and special; and made it really hard to leave to explore Peak's Island (which we also did do). The house is well-appointed. Thanks for the hospitality.
We are a local family Looking for a quick close to home Maine summer getaway. This property was absolutely perfect and exactly what we are looking for. The location is amazing in the house was very clean and well-equipped. The views of the sunrises in the morning from the bedroom and living room windows are breathtaking! Will definitely come back for another visit… Nikki was great to work with and responded to communications very quickly and answered any questions that we had.
The house if filled with windows and light. The house faces the Atlantic and the scenery out the back window is an perfect for any ocean lover. The home is well equipped including bluetooth bathroom mirrors and speakers throughout. It was hard to leave.
We were so impressed with everything this property had to offer. There wasn't anything we needed that could have made our 9-day stay any more welcoming and relaxing. We felt so at home and very much enjoyed the view of the ocean from three sides of the house. Watching the sunrise was truly spectacular.
We felt totally safe everywhere we ventured on the island. We had a wonderful vacation because our hosts did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable.
This is a very attractive, well-furnished, clean, comfortable house. But what it's really all about is the view! And what a view! The house has been expertly designed with huge windows to take full advantage of the expanse of sky and rocks and water just feet away. Many of the windows, on all sides, are casement (i.e., crank-out), which allows you take full advantage of the heavenly breezes and the soothing sound of the waves hitting the rocks. Even the shower has a world-class, full-horizon view, with a crank-out window. As a matter of fact, this is the most spectacular shower, with the most spectacular view, I have ever seen. A true stunner!
If you are looking for a place to unwind, to commune with an incomparable Maine seascape, to sit quietly while contemplating sunlight on water and the sound of water hitting rocks, this is the place for you. It may just heal your soul.
As many reviewers have said, this house has gorgeous views of the water - and a lovely patio outside to relax near the water. You have to go through the master bedroom to get to the full bathroom-which worked ok for us since there is a half bath downstairs. Just FYI - the bedroom downstairs is off the living room, and has sliding doors to the outside. We enjoyed the house and the island. There can be long waits for the car ferry to get on and off the island (3-hour wait on Monday morning)
The house was clean and well maintained. You cannot find a better view, located right on the water with stunning views, especially sunrises if you wake up early. We were traveling with two young kids and found the sleeping arrangements somewhat difficult for their ages (1&4). The second bedroom is off the living space with noise easily traveling. This made it difficult to spend much time in the living room after we put her to bed. We managed best parents can and would still return to this house.
If you want peaceful retreat and stunning views within easy access to " town" and Portland, this property is a great option. The house is well appointed and very clean, and the exterior of the property is well kept. It is on the quieter end of the island, perfectly situated for walks along the shore. We were a little concerned about making our desired ferry times, but we made sure to arrive 45 mins before our desired times, and did not have any issues. On the way there, we stopped at Rover Bagel in Biddeford (order online when about 1 hr away or you'll be waiting in line), then stopped at the food trucks at the Eastern Promenade in Portland. Vy Bahn Mi and Falafel Mafia were excellent! We made the 2:15 ferry, putting us on Peaks about 1 hr prior to check-in. Nikki responded immediately and positively when we texted to request early check-in. Friday we ordered pizzas from IL Leone on Island Ave, which were excellent! Sunday night, we ate at The Inn, which was also excellent. And what visit to Peaks is complete without a visit to the weird and wonderful Umbrella Cover Museum?
We spent time up on Moosehead Lake and glad we ended our trip on Peak’s Island. House was clean and has lots of bells and whistles like home. Master shower is wonderful! Owners items are everywhere in the house though, shoes on shoe racks and clothes in dresser, that was a first for us and felt like we were intruding on someone else’s space. There was breast milk in bags in the refrigerator, that was uncomfortable when we put our groceries away! Wish the boat would have been available to rent during our stay.
It was perfect for my husband and I, but if you have a family be away this is really only a 1 bedroom with a bed and dresser in a sun porch and you’ll need to go through it to go outside. The 3rd twin bed is in the dining room off the kitchen and living room, no doors or privacy.
Once we settled in, it was fabulous. Everything was comfortable, master bedroom has stunning views. Views outside are just as amazing, sit on the steps and watch the sun rise between the neighboring islands. Walk out on the rocks during low tide and explore the ecosystem of the tide pools! Bikes made riding around the island fun. We saw a turtle laying eggs across the street, wild turkeys in the yard and seagulls rest on the rocks outside the home. The location is perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet. We had so much fun on Peaks and would rent this place again.
The good:
The views are everything you could imagine and more! The bed was very comfortable. A washer and dryer off the main bathroom.
The questionable:
When we first arrived I was taken aback by the amount of "stuff" in the front hallways - tons of shoes, boxes, cleaning supplies, vacuum and attachments laying all over. Every dresser and closet was full of clothes, meaning there was no place to unpack our things. We put our luggage in the hall and lived from there. The dishes were very dirty. The fridge was clean, but the door was packed with condiments, although most have been expired for close to a year.
There were Nest cameras in at least 4 windows, pointing outside. However, they still have sound. I was very uncomfortable with that. I understand the owners probably want it for security. There are outside security cameras that would make your guests privacy not feel intruded upon.
The shower is short. I am 5'6" and had to duck to get my head fully under the showerhead. But that view you get while showering - great!
Overall, this was a good time. Even though the views are amazing, I wouldn't go back.

We live and work most of the time in Atlanta, Georgia. The home has a great local caretaker readily available who lives on the Island.
Why they chose this property
The most unique and beautiful oceanfront home we ever found. We bought it immediately. We have traveled extensively and search for an oceanfront home for more than 25 years.
What makes this property unique
Unbelievable oceanfront location. Unique sunrises and sunsets everyday.
The house has hard wood floors except the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen has a new venting microwave, dishwasher, water filter system and cooler.
The house is furnished with new furniture from West Elm and a local hand crafted Maine manufactured company.
Master bed is a new king, electric and faces the ocean. One pull out bed is a queen another a convertible couch. Dining room table and chairs are new and gorgeous. Everything is new. You can see the living room furniture a little bit one picture. You will find this is one of the nicest furnished rental homes on the island.
