Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and remove leftover food and drinks
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Bed/Bath - Start a load of towels & sheets. - Use Delicate cycle, warm, medium spin. - Laundry detergent is under the bathroom sink. It's a high efficiency machine, so a little goes a long way.
Kitchen -Empty compost into the outside bin and put the container in the dishwasher. -Load & start Dishwasher *Settings: ProWash on, Heated Dry off. - Soap is under kitchen sink.
General -Make it obvious if something has been used (so we know to clean it). Let us know if anything is broken, missing, used up, burnt out, or needs batteries. -Log out of anything on the TV.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No Burning, Vaping, or Smoking of any type. No storage, prep, or cooking of seafood (I learned the hard way that the smell lingers everywhere)
For check out: - Strip bed and start the washer with bed linens & towels. - Pre-treat any stained items with Zout and leave in bathroom

Outstanding! This is the 5th year we have stayed here, and we can't think of another place we would rather stay in Portland. The location is perfectly located between the airport and the central core, which includes downtown, the Convention Center and the Moda Center, a sports and concert venue. It's in a quiet neighborhood and there are numerous restaurants and food carts within walking distance. Our host, Leslie, is super accommodating and makes sure that supplies such as laundry and dishwasher soap are available. You can't go wrong staying here while on a visit to Portland.

Holiday weekend

Christmas in Portland

Great location to restaurants in safe neighborhood. My wife and I took daily walks to a nearby park with no problems. Many excellent restaurants in walking distance.Property was clean and well supplied. Kitchen was great for cooking several dinners. We will use this location again

Comfy, homey and spacious

Leslie's apartment more than met our needs. While a basement apartment, even my 6 ft tall husband didn't feel cramped! It was stocked with everything you could want, huge and lovely bathroom and shower, very safe and quiet neighborhood. The bed was so comfy I didn't want to get up. Easy walking distance to some nice restaurants, and slightly further to a retail area. Our only complaint was that the TV was a little tricky to figure out in terms of controlling the sound. Highl6y recommend

Couldn’t be better

Sparkling clean, quite roomy, nicely supplied with necessary items-soap, coffee, dishes and glasses. There was plenty of lighting for my vision impaired spouse. I especially liked the generous dining table, big enough for our daughter and husband to share a meal. It was wonderful!

Home away from home

Leslie knocked it out of the park! We had a wonderful week at the VRBO. A lot of thought went into this place. Location is great! Close to the airport. The Arts District is so close we walked there several times. Destinations to the Beaches and Mountains very doable from her place. Would recommend this VRBO to anyone.

Great home base

This was a great base for spending time in Portland as well as enjoying the outdoors in the Columbia River Gorge and on Mount Hood. This studio feels more like a one bedroom and has a roomy bathroom and kitchen. Check in was a breeze. Items including light switches and remotes were labeled. There were adequate towels and paper goods, etc. There was even a nice supply of Stash tea, which was nice for me as a tea lover. The owner was very responsive to any texts I sent.

Almost perfect

First of all, I enjoyed my stay at this property. Even though the weather was up in the 100s the basement apartment was still quite cool and comfortable. The amenities were very nice and I especially loved the harder pillows which I resulted in a restful slumber. I recommend parking on the same side of the street as the trees on the other side tend to drop fruits, flowers and leaves (perhaps some sap too) on the car. My only issue was the lack of privacy in the living room/kitchen/dining area because of the diaphanous curtains. Thicker curtains would be nice. Thanks for the lovely stay.

Third Time's the Charm

But so were the first and second times. This is the third year we have spent at Leslie's spacious rental, and it only gets better each time. We appreciate that she has added another bureau for clothing in the sleeping area. Because we stay several weeks, the extra drawer space is very useful. She also asked us about throw rugs in the unit. Because we are older and less agile, she removed the throw rugs by the bed so we are less likely to slip and fall. She shows a great deal of concern for each renter, and we don't feel like we are just anonymous occupants. We hope to stay again next summer as the unit itself, the property owner and the location could not be any better for us.

The Best in Portland

This was our 6th different vacation rental in Portland, all of which have been in the N or NE quadrants. All of our stays have been for 1-4 weeks. By far, this has been the best equipped and best provisioned rental we have stayed in. Not only does it have in-suite washer and dryer, but laundry soap is provided. Coffee and tea are plentiful and there is a huge selection of black and herbal teas. It is a garden apartment, but because it is only 2 shallow steps below street level, it is quite accessible and is lighter and brighter than most basement apartments. There is a long hallway from the street door to the apartment door, and this could be used as a safe and dry place to store bicycles for those who come to Portland for a cycling vacation. Because I am height challenged, I found it hard to read and reach the dryer controls. When I mentioned it to Leslie in a text, she had a stepstool available for us within days. The location is ideal for those who do not have a car while in Portland as it is within a couple of blocks of 2 bus lines with frequent service. For the most part, we did not need public transportation as much as we thought we might as there are grocery stores and a pharmacy within half a mile and numerous restaurants along Alberta St, not to mention a pod of food carts less than half a mile away on Killingsworth. Leslie has really set a high standard for vacation rentals in Portland, and I will be evaluating rentals in other locations by what she offers in this one.

Leslie was so welcoming and responsive! This was the perfect place to stay- so close to Alberta Street and within walking distance to local shops and restaurants. This was hands-down the most functional, well-thought-out short-term rental I’ve ever stayed at. Every single detail has been considered, from lighting to drawer organization to clear labeling of every light switch, shelf, and amenity. It made everything so intuitive and easy to navigate, which really helped me relax and feel at home.The hosts clearly take pride in offering not just a place to stay, but an experience of comfort and ease. There were extras of everything- towels, linens, blankets- and all impeccably clean and neatly arranged. The space was cozy yet incredibly organized, and you can tell so much thought has gone into anticipating a guest’s every need.I’ve stayed in many rentals over the years, but this one raised the bar in every way. Highly, highly recommend.

Absolutely loved it! Will stay there again for sure. Clean, easy check in, great communication, street parking, walkable restaurants.We never cooked in the kitchen, but it was extremely organized and had everything you would possibly need. There are a lot of light switches, but they are all labeled so you know exactly which ones to hit!

Great location, great price, very comfortable!

This is a basement apartment and that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It's the perfect place for 2 people who are going to be out and about most of the time. The bed is super comfortable, there are lots of nice thoughtful touches (coffee beans and coffee grinder provided). And the location is wonderful. Short walk to Alberta Ave. where there are lots of food trucks, restaurants and neat shops. Thank you Leslie and Vince for a wonderful stay!

The Perfect, Cozy Little Stay!

I absolutely *adore* this spot! Located just far away enough from the hustle and bustle to be quiet and peaceful, but you can walk (or talk a quick car ride) to all things Portland you need to do! I particularly loved the furniture throughout the space (I need to find similar pieces for my own place), the incredible fireplace, and the simple but perfect layout. Worked great for me on a solo adventure, and I think could work good for a couple as well! No doubt, I'll be returning the next time I need to be in Portland!
