Lined with marinas and boat launches, you can set sail on a whale watching tour or fishing charter, and then end your day at a fresh seafood restaurant.

Look hard - pictures don’t lie

If you’re looking for a 1970’s flashback, this is it. This place became exhausting. Not enough outlets. Felt like the furniture was collected from the side of the road. Lighting was completely inadequate. Seemed like the plates, glasses and silverware were found with the furniture and never felt clean. Location is good.

I wrote a whole long review on Vacasa's website that you should check out but now I am tired. The point is, there is not a washer/dryer/dishwasher at this house and the kitchen had ants. I wasn't bothered by the ants as it is an older home and they are a pain to get rid of, it was not due to lack of cleanliness. The property management company and Vacasa clearly do not communicate as they left dishwasher tabs even though there isn't a dishwasher? House itself was older but charming with a great outdoor space. Do with this what you will.

Vacasa sucks

property was great - great location, very clean, had all we needed; it has very creaky floors upstairs and only one bathroom in each house - the one in the guest house is in the downstairs room, so the upstairs party has to go into the bedroom downstairs Worst was the management company. They said we could extend the stay or late check out, but I needed to decide 2 days in advance, since we only stayed 3 days, we really had no idea yet. Quite annoying to provide so little flexibility. They clearly had no one staying the day we left.

Management company knows nothing about the house

Okay hear me out. The property is so cute and great location. Here's the thing, Vacasa clearly knows nothing about the house and the property management company doesnt either. There is not a dishwasher or washer/dryer in this house. Do not be deceived, I saw a comment where someone said they "missed it" and Vacasa replied saying they were sorry it was out of order. No, it has never existed. Had to do my laundry the old fashioned way since I didnt pack enough of the essentials to get through my trip. They dont have a dishwasher, yet the property management company left dishwasher tabs for our use? Sorry what? Also, there were ants all over the kitchen counter. Again, I really didnt mind because it was an old house and I know ants are a pain to get rid if, it was not a lack of cleanliness situation. Also- Vacasa emailed me saying I could book a late check out, but wouldnt tell me how much it would cost. When I messaged Vacasa to ask how much it would be, they told me the property did not offer late check out??? Just so much miscommunication that it was frustrating.

Fun Trip, Beautiful Beach, Some Cons…

We rented this property for 4 nights in August. There were 4 couples, and 2 kids. Overall we had a wonderful family vacation and enjoyed the beautiful beach! Pros: - Plenty of places to sleep for all of us - Short (lees than 5 min) walk to beach - Beach was beautiful and clean - Water was warm for being in Maine! - Bikes were provided making the trip to the beach even more fun - We spent a lot of time on the deck - The kids LOVED the outdoor shower! - Close to Funtown Splashtown which we did one day that was cool and overcast Cons: - We were only provided enough gas to grill for one night. That was a major bummer. We ended up getting pizza (no delivery we could find) and cooking hot dogs on the stove - There’s really only one bathroom. The second is through a bedroom. So one couple had their own bathroom and the other 3 had to share. - The bedroom on the first floor of the main house hears everything!! Warning if you choose that one! - Based on listing and reviews we thought there would be a corner store, ice cream, and seafood within walking distance. We finally found the corner store on our bikes (not walking distance) but never found ice cream or seafood so assume you’d have to drive - IT WAS HOT! They provide fans but recommend bringing your own as well - No communication or info on check out like what to do with linens or towels - A dryer would have been a plus to dry wet towels and bathing suits! But not necessary

Great for families

This was my first vacation for my young family (two little boys 2 and under) and it was absolutely perfect. The separate cottage was great for my husband's family to stay in and have some privacy and the yard was perfect for my 2 year old to run around in. I loved the neighborhood, it was walking distance to the beach and in such a beautiful area. While the house doesn't have AC, we didn't miss it, the owner had fans available and we found it very comfortable. We will book again!

A perfect vacation

We had our kids and their families here for a week. There is plenty of space, the houses are very clean and for us, one of the most wonderful things was a well stocked kitchen. We cook all our meals and there were plenty of pots and pans and various cooking utensils. Perfect. The walk to the beach only takes minutes and it is a very beautiful and quiet beach with no entrance fee. Just lovely. Thank you so much.

Great Get Away

We enjoyed our long weekend at Y Go By. A little further from the beach than we usually stay, but still a reasonable walk. House had plenty of space for 3 generations. The fans in the home kept us comfortable during the heat wave. Just a few tweaks would make the home perfect. It really needs more coat hangers. 10 for a house that sleeps 12 was not adequate. Also the first floor bedroom in the main house would benefit form window shades. The light from sign on the housing complex across the street made sleeping a challenge. We woudl definitely ocnsider staying at U go By again.

We had a great stay at Y Go By! The house was very clean and stocked with everything you could need. Plenty of beds between the two cottages adjoined with the deck , one bathroom in each cottage and an outdoor shower. The beach was a short walk away and there were plenty of beach chairs in good condition to use . The deck was a perfect spot for coffee; probably even better in fall with no leaves to be able to see the view of the marsh behind. There weren't alot of tv channels available (my kids wanted Red Sox!) but then again , you are on vacation. It was a bit dated, and a couple of simple fixes like a new curtain would be nice , yet again not a complaint with the location and cleanliness. The GRB Market nearby with homemade muffins and any necessities is great, as is the nearby lobster shack and ice cream (cash only! ) . We like to go to the Pier and drive into Kennebunkport, or head the other way to Biddeford Pool to walk Timber Point or Fortunes Rocks. The neighborhood is very friendly, and morning walks on Goose Rocks Beach will be missed ! Just FYI if you want a firepit you need to get a permit from the town first. I did not see any washer or dryer , but new towels were provided by Vacasa. Wr will be back!

The perfect beach house getaway

Our family of 8 adults had an incredible 9-night stay at Y Go By. At first glance it may look like a small cottage but as others have mentioned, the house has a much bigger feel to it with plenty of space to hang out. The 3D layout of the house was extremely helpful to our group for planning purposes. Between the in-law cottage, large deck, the sun room and den in the main house there is plenty of space for a big family. The open concept in the kitchen and large dining room table was perfect for family dinners and game nights. The house is about 1/4 mile from Goose Rocks Beach, or about a 5 minute walk. It is a very quiet community and the beach is in a beautiful bay area, making the water much warmer than other beaches in Maine. It is a very quiet beach with plenty of space, regardless of high or low tide. There is a general store/gift shop less than a mile away with plenty of supplies. There is also a fresh seafood shack half a mile away, Tide Beach Club is half a mile in the other direction and there is a great ice cream shop less than two miles away. After long days on the beach, we found ourselves spending most of our time on the expansive back deck and yard, cooking on the grill, playing yard games and sitting by the fire pit. There are spots all along route 9 and even along New Biddeford Road to pick up firewood. The house also has a storage bin in the backyard with about 10 beach chairs, several umbrellas and a kayak. Overall, the house was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of extra towels and other supplies. The two bathrooms were a great size and the outdoor shower was awesome. As mentioned in the listing, there is no AC but they do provide several fans. The temperature is pretty comfortable - especially when the windows are open to the ocean air - but if you're staying in the summer we'd encourage guests to bring a fan just to be safe. We really can't say enough good things about this house. You can tell it's owned by a very loving family and they have taken great care of it. The house was everything we could have wanted and it made for an unforgettable family weekend. We hope to be back next year and would love to make it an annual tradition!
