GITE LE CLOS DES VENTS

On the alabaster coast 10 km from the beaches and villages of Veules les Roses and Saint Valéry en Caux, in the heart of the Caux region, sheltered by a beech forest, we welcome you to a gßte for 11 people of 170 m2 independent on 2000 m2 of land.

This cottage is built on the basis of an 1830 cart that we moved and restored. It combines the Cauchoise tradition (half-timbered, daub, sandstone and bricks of St Jean) and a Zen and modern interior.

For your relaxation, an old fireplace (wood provided) awaits you on the ground floor in a living room, dining room and kitchen area, wc and bathroom with shower. 1 bedroom with 160 beds and laundry room.
Upstairs, a bedroom with a 160 cm bed and a second bedroom with two 90 cm beds, wc and bathroom with shower, as well as a TV area with 140 cm sofa bed.
In the annex, 1 independent bedroom with 160 cm bed, bathroom with shower and wc and a mezzanine with 1 bed of 90 cm and a sauna room.

Family fun and harmony

Perfect location for the extended family, in our case 3 generations, 5 adult and 3 children. Enough rooms, enough space. We all left Houdetot still on speaking terms.

Lovely location and property

Great place and house to locate yourself if exploring Normandy. Upsides are location, size and look of property. Downside.. wifi is poor, be prepared to use your own data. Second bedroom in Annex, staircase is more of a ladder, ok going up but coming down is borderline dangerous, especially if child using it.

Je n'imaginais pas une transaction de type Airbnb. Un premier contact tĂ©lĂ©phonique (trĂšs courtois, rien Ă  redire) mais pas de prĂ©sence Ă  l'arrivĂ©e ni au dĂ©part, impersonnel. Dans la cuisine, les poĂȘles en tĂ©flon sont hors d'Ăąge (cancĂ©rigĂšnes), la plaque halogĂšne ne chauffe guĂšre, les fonds de casseroles sont bosselĂ©s, les couteaux ne coupent pas. Dans l'ensemble la cuisine mĂ©riterait quelques ajouts d'ustensiles. Dans les chambres, les oreillers sont raplapla. Enfin la piĂšce de vie manque de place, nous Ă©tions 6 mais avec 3 personnes de plus, c'est certainement plus compliquĂ©.Le tableau dĂ©crit n'est pas si sombre, il faudrait une petite remise Ă  jour des Ă©quipements pour que l'ensemble gagne en qualitĂ©.

Bon contact avec la propriétaire tres arrangeante pour l'arrivée et le depart. Belle maison typique entourée de verdure, bien chauffée. Toutefois, a cette epoque (campagne sucriÚre), beaucoup de camions qui circulent. Sauna et cheminée au top. Coin avec canapé et lit vraiment en depannage. TrÚs bon séjour en Normandie

Nous avons passĂ© une belle semaine de NoĂ«l en famille dans cette belle demeure de Normandie. Nous avons Ă©tĂ© trĂšs bien accueilli par la propriĂ©taire et les modalitĂ©s d’arrivĂ©e et de dĂ©part se sont trĂšs bien dĂ©roulĂ©es. L’angĂ©lus sonnĂ© tous les matins par l’église situĂ©e juste Ă  cĂŽtĂ© de la demeure nous a rĂ©veillĂ© de bonnes heures (7h) donc bon Ă  savoir pour ceux/celles que cela pourrait dĂ©ranger. La maison est trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e mais mĂ©riterait un nettoyage un peu plus en profondeur afin d’ĂȘtre tout Ă  fait parfaite. Tout ceci ne nous a cependant pas empĂȘchĂ© de profiter d’un bon sĂ©jour et de visiter ce coin de Normandie que nous ne connaissions pas encore. Merci aux propriĂ©taires pour leur gentillesse.

Gite propre et fonctionnel : bien Ă©quipĂ© pour 10 personnes. ExtĂ©rieur avec barbecue et terrasse apprĂ©ciĂ©. L’hiver la cheminĂ©e doit ĂȘtre agrĂ©able. J’étais un peu inquiĂšte sur la propretĂ© compte tenu de certains commentaires, mais le gĂźte Ă©tait trĂšs propre. La communication a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs fluide avec la propriĂ©taire qui nous a renseignĂ© Ă  chaque fois avec gentillesse. A savoir : Pas de commerce accessible Ă  pied Nous recommandons ce gĂźte.

We misten een zit-/rusthoek bij de sauna en wc-rolhouders in de toiletten. (De zitting van) de stoelen aan de eettafel zijn versleten, de originele verlichting van de keuken is vervangen door goedkope ledverlichting en te zwak. Hartelijk ontvangst met rondleiding van het huis. Huis netjes en verzorgd. Enorm genoten van echte open haard. Mooi en praktisch huis in traditionele bouwstijl, maar met hedendaags interieur.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus, leider sehr dreckig

Die HĂ€user sind sehr schön eingerichtet und hochwertig und geschmackvoll renoviert worden. Die BĂ€der sind modern, die Betten bequem, alles ist recht gut ausgestattet. In den Schlafzimmer wĂ€ren richtige KleiderschrĂ€nke toll, hier sind teilweise nur kurze Kleiderstangen und kleine Kommoden vorhanden, die vorhandenen SchrĂ€nke sind nicht tief genug fĂŒr KleiderbĂŒgel. Draußen im Garten wĂ€ren Liegen oder Ă€hnliches schön, hier gibt es nur normale StĂŒhle am Tisch und 2 LiegestĂŒhle, von denen einer defekt ist. Aber das wĂ€re alles nicht so schlimm. Leider war wirklich alles extrem schmutzig. Alle RĂ€ume waren, wenn ĂŒberhaupt, nur oberflĂ€chlich gereinigt worden. Die Armaturen in allen BĂ€dern waren verkalkt und hatten GrĂŒnspan angesetzt, die Silikonfugen sind verschimmelt, die DuschwĂ€nde waren kalkig, fleckig und es gab Seifen-und Zahnpastareste sowie viele Haare der Vormieter. Das selbe Bild zeigte sich leider in der KĂŒche. KrĂŒmel in allen Schubladen, der Backofen war in einem widerlichen Zustand, ebenso das Innere der SpĂŒlmaschine (und ĂŒbrigens auch der Waschmaschine). Der KĂŒhlschrank war schmutzig und es standen noch angebrochene Lebensmittel der Vormieter darin. Alle TrinkglĂ€ser waren so verkalkt, dass sie rau und milchig waren. In der Kaffeemaschine war noch ein Kaffeerest, die ganze Maschine war mit getrocknetem Kaffee bedeckt. Auf der Folientischdecke, die den Holztisch schĂŒtzt, klebten Essensreste. Die Böden waren schmierig, auch alle KĂŒchenfronten waren offensichtlich mit einem verschmutzten Lappen abgewischt worden und wiesen schmutzige Wischspuren auf. Die SpĂŒlmaschine war defekt und spĂŒlte nur noch kalt. Der 2. Fernseher fehlte komplett. (Es wurde uns erklĂ€rt, durch die Schuld der Vormieter sei er defekt.) Der Staubsauger war voller Haare, und hatte kaum noch Leistung. Das alles haben wir am 1. Abend der Hausbesitzerin gezeigt, als sie zur BegrĂŒĂŸung kam. Sie versicherte mehrmals, dass ihr das alles sehr leid tĂ€te, die Putzfrau wĂ€re wohl "zu schnell" gewesen. Eine EntschĂ€digung egal in welcher Form oder ein Nacharbeiten durch die Putzfrau wurde uns nicht angeboten. Am folgenden Tag wurde zumindest die defekte SpĂŒlmaschine ausgetauscht. In Bezug auf Sauberkeit oder den 2. Fernseher ist nichts mehr passiert. Wir haben erstmal Putzmittel eingekauft und alles (!) geputzt. Alles war gut zu reinigen, wir haben Haus und Geschirr auf Hochglanz poliert! Sehr schade, dass ein so schönes Ferienhaus dermaßen verkommt, sonst wĂ€ren wir vollends begeistert.
