Great stay. The home was very clean and came stocked with all needed items. The location is very private and not far from attractions. A great perk was being able to take the boats out on the lake.
We had an amazing stay at Dennis’ property. Six sisters from all over the country celebrated a 70th birthday. Wonderful escape to Michigan! Accommodations were excellent and convenient to the ferry to Mackinac Island, Sault Ste Marie locks, and Tahquamenon Falls. Dennis is a great host.
Absolutely perfect house to vacation at! Everything you might need is already there. The lake is very clean and you can walk out quite a ways! We were even able to see the northern lights here! Cannot say enough good things about this property!! Secluded, quiet, beautiful!
We absolutely loved our stay. It was the perfect spot to launch our UP adventure. The lake the was lovely, the cabin is perfectly stocked and the hosts were fantastic! Also don’t forget to watch the sunset off the dock or from the paddle board. It was spectacular!
The Cabin is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained. If you bring or rent a boat, the pier is adequate for mooring but be aware that the lake depth is only 1-2 feet of sand bottom for several hundred yards in front of the cabin.
Great place for quiet family time after going to busy tourist attractions. Took fishing boats for the fishermen/women who caught bluegills and pike for a fish fry one night. The little kids the loved the sandpit on the shoreline.
We stayed here for 3 nights on a family reunion trip. The house was perfect for our party of 7. The lake access was great, we used the kayaks and canoe provided and watched the spectacular sunsets! Night sky was also amazing! The house itself was beautifully decorated , seating /bedding was comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to make dinners at the cabin- we ate all dinners there and grilled one night. Location was perfect for day trips to Mackinac Island and Tahquamenon falls. Dennis was a wonderful host and responded quickly to all messages. We cannot wait to come back!

Great guests, I highly recommend. Looking forward to a return visit!
We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful cabin! The property is stunning, peaceful, and very well maintained. The cabin itself was exceptionally clean and felt very safe and welcoming. The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with spices, storage containers, and plenty of dishware…everything we needed for cooking and meals. The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The kids (and adults) had an amazing time swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the lake, and renting jet skis was a huge hit! We made so many great memories and would definitely stay here again.
We absolutely loved this cabin! It was very clean, plenty of room for all of us and on a beautiful lake! Everything was well stocked including things for the kids! Good location with lots of things to do in the area. We had a great time and would stay here again!
It was an amazing cabin, absolutely stunning. Cute decor, comfy beds, clean, well stocked, great outside activities! The view was out of this world with the large windows overlooking the lake. Highly recommend!
The cabin was very comfortable and decorated in perfect cabin decor but the pictures don’t do it justice. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends. The owners are quick to answer questions.
One of the nicest vacation rentals we have ever stayed at! Comfortable beds and furniture throughout. Very well stocked kitchen for cooking. Gorgeous sunsets over the lake and we loved the huge deck. Would come back again!
What a wonderful property. This place had everything wanted plus. The house is beautiful and was so convenient being right on the lake. The owners do a great job making sure you have everything you need and are very easy to work with. We will be coming back!

About the host
Hosted by Dennis Matson
Our family has spent many summers in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and each visit created lasting memories. I can still vividly picture our children jumping off the dock for a swim or sitting in a boat fishing with my dad on quiet summer mornings.
When the opportunity came to purchase our own lake home, we were fortunate to find Gray Wolf. It became more than just a property—it became a place where we could share the same kind of experiences and memories with others.
Our goal is simple: to make every guest feel truly welcome in our home. We want you to feel comfortable, relaxed, and cared for from the moment you arrive, with everything you need for an easy and enjoyable stay.
Most importantly, we hope you leave with your own special memories—whether it’s time on the lake, evenings by the fire, or peaceful mornings in nature. Our wish is that your stay becomes one of your favorite vacations, just as ours have been for our family.
Why they chose this property
There are so many incredible things to see and do in this area, making this home the perfect base for exploring Northern Michigan. Nearby attractions include Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Mackinac Island, Lake Michigan beaches, local casinos, and seasonal activities like snowmobiling, skiing, and water parks.
As much as there is to explore, what truly makes this property special is the lake itself. Brevort Lake is an all-sports lake known for its clear water, sandy bottom, and peaceful setting. It’s ideal for fishing, boating, swimming, and leisurely rides across the water.
Whether you spend your days adventuring throughout the Upper Peninsula or simply relaxing at the shoreline, this property offers the best of both worlds—endless nearby attractions and the unmatched beauty of lakefront living right outside your door.
What makes this property unique
This home is all about relaxation and connection to nature. Whether you’re enjoying your morning coffee on the deck or unwinding by the stone fireplace in the evening, the setting is peaceful, quiet, and restorative.
Wildlife is part of the experience here. It’s common to see bald eagles soaring overhead, ducks visiting the shoreline, deer passing through the property, and at night, the haunting call of loons across the lake creates a truly unforgettable Northern Michigan atmosphere.
The home itself is designed for comfort, with a warm, inviting décor that makes every guest feel at ease from the moment they arrive.
For outdoor enthusiasts, adventure is right outside your door. When trails are open, you can ride snowmobile or ATV directly into hundreds of miles of connected trail systems. One favorite local route is a loop ride around the lake to Highway 123, stopping in Trout Lake for lunch, then returning through scenic forest trails past Brevort Lake Campground and back home.
Whether your stay is focused on relaxation or adventure, this property offers the perfect balance of both in a true Upper Peninsula setting.
