Our family had a wonderful stay at this cozy home by a pond. We saw a turtle in the front yard and a heron in the back! Our family enjoyed our time here.

We are so glad you had a great stay! Thank you for leaving our home in perfect condition!
Bring your own camp chairs. Research in advance for area recommendations (grocery, gas, restaurant, sites, etc.) and any map needs. Could not locate any of the hiking areas mentioned, either.

So sorry you weren't able to find the hiking trails. There are a number of them on the intersecting road. The trailheads are all pretty well marked by the state. I wish you had reached out so I could help you with that.
This is a new property that had no reviews when I booked it. The photos on line do not do it justice . It is a beautiful house that has been completely and beautifully renovated, while keeping the original charm. The land and surrounding area is also very relaxing, completely out in a rural area. We had a bonfire at night and could do star gazing since the property is so remote. The hosts were VERY accommodating to all our questions and requests. We hope to be able to return again. We were in town for only 2 nights, and were busy with a family wedding, so we did not get to enjoy the land as much as we would have liked.
The grounds are beautiful, including a pond, fire ring, and picnic area. The house is modern but also maintaining a country charm. This was a perfect getaway for our family!
Hosts were wonderful, made the entire process so easy. The house was super clean and had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds, etc. Want to come back during the winter as the house is close to the main snowmobile trail.

Lack of clarity when bringing a pet. Listing says bring own bedding under the pet discription / fees. After the booking we were told that we needed to bring all sheets , blankets, and pillows for all guests. This begs the question of why I needed to pay an extra dog cleaning fee, there was no rugs in the house. What extra cleaning was needed. As we were making the beds we found previous guests garbage under the beds, causing my wife to reclean the house. Minimum housewares and no blow dryer.

Sorry for any confusion you experiencereleased. Pets create the need for additional cleaning. Bedding is nit supplied when guests bring a pet due to multiple instances of pets destroying bedding in the past. This is all as per the listing.
The housewares are quite complete. There is no blow dryer, but none is indicated in the listing.
The house was thoroughly cleaned before your arrival. However I will speak to the cleaning crew if they missed anything under the bed(s). But it certainly is not the case that the house had to be recleaned.
Thank you for your feedback.
Wonderful property! We had a great vacation here. Close to town and the lake yet it was quiet and relaxing. The house was clean and the kitchen was was terrific and well stocked! The pond outside was picturesque with a fire pit we used several nights.
This house was a perfect get away to have with family and friends. The quiet area that the house was located in was very calming and the house itself was extremely clean and warm. It also comfortably fit our party of 8. Definitely would recommend this to anyone!
Quiet, isolated house surrounded by rolling hills, forests and farms; beautiful setting. The house is old, very steep narrow stairs, uneven floors so would be tricky for the very young or infirm.
Great house and property. Nice decor, very well-appointed, pond and acreage are the perfect setting for tranquil nights under the stars. Perfect for families trying to get away.
We had a wonderful time at the Hanson House. The house itself was clean and cute. The property was amazing. The descriptions online were accurate. You can tell the property is very well maintained. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house to anyone.
We enjoyed our stay which was exactly halfway for our brother and sister-in-laws. The kids had a blast with the pond and the accommodations were great.
