1139 Washington Street is an historic home which has been totally renovated into an extraordinary gem with luxurious amenities, located in the prime location of Historic Cape May on a beautiful tree lined street. Walk between the white picket fence, and step up onto the blue stone entryway as you enter this breathtaking retreat! From the richness of the mill work, recessed lighting with dimmers, shutters, wainscoting and Brazilian hard wood flooring and many luxurious amenities; this house will satisfy your senses and set an ambiance for a great summer vacation, weekend getaway or Christmas in Cape May!

An open floor plan includes the living room area, a dining area and a Chef's gourmet kitchen. The kitchen is surrounded by quality custom knotted cherry cabinetry, granite counter tops with a large island that includes built-in wine and beverage coolers as well as microwave and convection oven, it will be a delightful experience for family and guests. The kitchen includes top of the line appliances - Wolf stove with pot filler faucet, Bosch dishwasher, Subzero refrigerator with 2 separate areas for freezer space and a water purifier both hot and cold attached to the farm sink. The living room includes a 50” UHD Smart TV.

This property has sleeping for 8 in total. The first floor contains 2 bedrooms. Enjoy the first bedroom designed for comfortable luxury with a king bed. The 2nd bedroom is designed for comfort and privacy, fitted with a queen bed. The first floor also has a Spa-like bathroom with a rain head shower and stone tiling inside the shower. Enter upstairs to find an extraordinary space which includes sleeping for 4 or a large master suite. Breeze into the sumptuous Master bedroom with a Juliette-style balcony overlooking greenery outside. A flexible sleeping arrangement for two additional persons in this area (two twin beds) beds.

We enjoyed our relaxing week stay. The home was beautiful, comfortable and had everything our family needed to feel at home. The street is pretty and my family was able to safely bike to the beach & walk to the shops. The owners were wonderful. Would stay again if we decide to return to Cape May next summer.

Beautiful fall weekend break in Cape May

This was a beautifully clean, comfortable property, just as described, within an absolutely fantastic spa-like shower! The house had everything we needed for four adults and a baby. It was within easy walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants and other amenities. We really enjoyed our weekend in Cape May and hope to return soon.

What a charming Cape May home!

Everything about our stay was really wonderful! The house is more than just a rental - it feels like a home. It is comfortable and beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Both bathrooms were lovely - and we particularly loved the first floor shower (the best rain shower I’ve ever used!). There is a perfect porch off the back of the home overlooking a beautiful garden - it was ideal for relaxing and reading after the beach! There was one reserved parking spot right in front of the house; we had two cars, and we never had a problem finding a spot nearby. The location was convenient to both town and the beach, too! We would definitely stay here again!

The house is very beautiful, with lots of flowers and well maintained. A bit far from the beach but we knew that when renting this property. Washington street is very nice. Two things that need improvement: dishwashed does not work well (we had to clean most dishes manually) and the water pressure in the kitchen sink was extremely low. Very hard to operate at times.Overall a nice stay in Cape May.

Great updates space

We stayed here at the beginning of the summer and really enjoyed it. The home was gorgeous and very clean upon arrival. The upstairs bedroom was large and had several beds and then a small closet like room that had additional twin beds. It was an odd layout but suited us just fine. The yard was gorgeous and the back deck was covered and had a fan and was lovely to sit on in the morning. The only challenge that we had was that it was further away from the beach and shopping area than I wished. And with 2 10-year-olds riding bikes they needed to stick on the sidewalk because the street was busy. The host was extremely gracious and communicative and everything went smoothly.

Great house with an open floor plan

We had a very enjoyable long weekend in Cape May at the property. We all felt comfortable in the house, due to the open layout. We also spread out to the covered deck off the kitchen. The upstairs second bathroom had a large tub instead of shower, but we were ok with that due to the large downstairs bathroom and outdoor shower. Owner was very communicative and helpful.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This historic home has been beautifully renovated and decorated. Large open first floor great for a family. 2bedrooms downstairs were perfect. Great upstairs open master with 4 twin beds in separate spaces. Only thing that surprised us was that the bathroom upstairs was only accessible near the open master room. Loved the outdoor shower and deck space. 20 min walk to the beach was easy with the cart provided. Thanks for a great stay Dan and all the extra cleaning supplies!

We've been coming to Cape May for 15 years & always stay at a different rental house. This was, by far, one of our favorites! House: Beautiful, newly renovated home. We loved the open floor plan on the ground floor. The new kitchen was to die for (so much refrigerator space, and a second drink refrigerator). The walk in shower on the first floor is so luxurious! I was a little concerned about the open floor plan on the second floor, but it was not a problem at all. Two of our kids slept in the single beds in the main area & our au pair slept in the king size bed. Because they went to bed and woke up at different times, it was not an issue at all. Our oldest slept in the separate bedroom on the 2nd floor & loved the independence that room offered. The air conditioning worked really well - which I have often found to be an issue with homes in Cape May. The house is impeccably decorated & clean! Location: We liked that it is a little outside the hustle and bustle of the Washington Square area, yet it's a quick 5 minute bike ride there. There's a cute playground within a 5 minute walk. We also enjoyed walking/biking to the Dry Dock restaurant - which has a variety of food options & ice cream. It has outdoor seating & wasn't too busy, which made us feel safe given our concerns re: COVID. I thought I wouldn't like being so far from the beach, but it was not an issue. We kept all of our beach "stuff" in the car, then just drove to the beach (3-5 mins) when we wanted to go. Way easier than getting 3 kids to walk a few blocks while whining & carrying their stuff. Ha! We found a nice area to park for free at the end of New Jersey Ave where you can just walk onto the beach (it has a handicapped entrance, making it easy to wheel your stuff onto the beach). Parking: The reserved parking space in front of the house was great. Never had to worry about parking. We actually had 4 cars, but had no problem finding street parking within a block for the other 3 cars. Owners: Dan was great! Very communicative & helpful. Always quick to respond by text. We accidentally took home some beach tags (which we mailed back) & also left a purse at the house (which he mailed to us). He was so kind and understanding!

This was a great house! We had 4 adults, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is well equipped with all of your essentials to cook and grill at home. There’s also all the essentials for cleaning and laundry. It’s in a convenient location waking or biking to the downtown or to the beach. The yard and outdoor dining was one of our favorite elements to enjoy. Note that there is only one indoor shower (and one outdoor). The 2nd bathroom has a large tub. Not ideal for all adults but we made it work with the outdoor shower, too. Otherwise, this place is a perfect stay!

Charming, convenient and quiet place

Charming, convenient, quiet place for a Summer vacation. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. There were plenty of free parking spots in the street in the month of August. Ground floor is spacious with lots of natural light and some space outdoors. Upstairs is mostly one connected room, with the exception of two twin beds behind closed doors. We definitely recommend it to any larger group of people!
