The Space:

The complex offers its own pool and workout room. Just under a mile away, you’ll find the Keauhou Shopping Center, featuring a KTA Supermarket, Movie Theater, and a variety of restaurants and shops.



This comfortable 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit sleeps up to five guests. The main bedroom boasts a California King bed, while the second bedroom offers two twin beds. The living room features a couch and two chairs for comfortable family time. One of the few units in the complex with a split air conditioning system, it provides modern comfort throughout. The kitchen includes a indoor dining area. The oversized lanai overlooks the golf course, making it a perfect spot for outdoor grilling and dining.

Keauhou Palena serves as an excellent base for exploring the Big Island. Nearby activities include golf, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, kayaking, sunset cruises, whale watching, parasailing, jet skiing, hiking, theater, movies, shopping, cultural events, and a variety of dining options. For those willing to venture further, popular attractions include Kilauea Volcano, Mauna Kea Observatories, Waipio Valley, Akaka and Umauma Waterfalls, Dolphin Quest, botanical gardens, black and green sand beaches, Waimea and Parker Ranch, ancient Hawaiian fishponds, Hawaiian petroglyphs, coffee farms, the Captain Cook Monument, and historic Hilo town.

Overall the host was very welcoming and accommodating. All amenities were in working order and contributed to a good stay. One thing short of perfect was towels smelled sour and of course nature and the tiny ant invasion. We washed towels with vinegar rectifying the sour towels but had no Diatomaceous Earth for the tiny ants… warm, cozy, and a good stay!

The condo was great for our family. We had 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids loved their beds, the stuffies were a huge hit. There were sand toys, snorkeling gear, beach towels, an umbrella and other things available for use which was great. It was very clean and the hosts were great to work with. They checked in frequently and answered pretty quickly to any questions. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the fact that the pool closes at sunset and we felt the rules were pretty strict and didn’t want to take our kids in case we were disruptive. But other than that it was a nice, comfy place to stay!

The property was exactly as described! The area was quiet and clean and within walking distance of grocery and food, and only a short drive from the shops and restaurants on Ali’i. The only thing you have to be mindful of is tiny tiny ants that hang out in the sink…but they dissappear if you keep the sinks clean, and there are plenty of cleaning supplies if they bother you; they did not bother us. We did not see any other bugs inside, and the place was in great shape. We had fantastic communication with the owner, and had no problems with our stay what so ever. Would definitely stay here again!

One of the celling fans didn't work, but they were quick to respond. I did find several large water bugs dead in the floor when I arrived, so I did have to clean it before I stayed in it. But the overall experience was good.

Great central Kona condo

My family including 2 kids, 3 adults used this condo as a home base in Kona. The decor may be a bit dated, but everything was functional and just what we needed. We appreciated the beach supplies including boogie boards, chair, towels, etc. We especially enjoyed having AC as it was quite hot during our stay

Great place to stay on the Big Island

The property was clean, spacious, in a great location to Kona and amenities and very well furnished Our unit would be perfect for a family of 3/4. The lanai is large and we enjoyed breakfast outside every morning with a beautiful view. Great stay

We had a pleasant week staying in this lovely condo. Location was perfect with beach, shopping and pool nearby. Beautiful golf view lanai and quiet neighborhood. Rooms are clean and well maintained with new A/Cs. Internet and Cable TV was down when we arrived but the Property Manager took care of it quickly. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back again.

A wonderful and affordable rental.

This was a great rental in Kona for a family of 4...the air conditioning was wonderfully quiet. This condo was clean neat, an adequately stocked. The only issue was the two loads of laundry required was feasible for an early flight- only one wash was completed of the sheets.

Definitely Best Value as Advertised

Condo had everything needed for a family of four. Washer dryer was great, kitchen well stocked, outdoor grill worked great, nice spacious patio, a/c worked as promised. Some of the snorkeling gear and other beach gear needs replacing but we brought some of our own snorkel gear and found enough at the condo to add to it. Love Kona! Such a relaxing place for a family vacation!

Got message while flying that the water heater was broken and could not be fixed for 3 days. After the 3 days, no one called or showed up. WE called and were told it would be another 2 days until it could be fixed We had to go to another unit to shower We canceled and went to an Air BNB where we could shower in our unit. Thank you for your review. Lanui Realty is committed to providing the best experience for our guests and we recognize the inconvenience when amenities in the condos need to be repaired or replaced. Upon being notified that the hot water heater was not working on the day of the guests arrival we called multiple HVAC companies. No one was able to come out that day which was a Friday. We were placed on one HVAC's schedule for Monday morning. The HVAC company informed us that they had the correct unit in stock. Over the weekend we were not able to reach the HVAC company and when we did reach them Monday morning, were informed that the water heater needed was not in stock on the entire island. They then said they could order one in and that would be an additional two days. We communicated the status every time we received new information. Things move a bit slower on an island and it is hard to find parts and workers. On the day of the guests arrival we offered them another unit to stay in for four days until the water heater was originally scheduled to be repaired. This guest had a long stay and we did not have one unit available for the entire duration. After we offered this other unit the guests declined and said they will go to the other unit to shower. As a final gesture, we refunded the full amount the guest paid for their stay, essentially providing three free nights with everything but hot water and then we provided another unit for them to use to shower. The hot water heater has been replaced and the unit is 100% for our next guests. We apologize for the inconvenience and want to provide the best vacation to our guests as possible. Unfortunately, we do have emergency repairs and do our best to resolve as quickly as possible.

Great location and value for the price

We spent a week at this property in March 2021, on our first outing after getting fully vaxxed. The Big Island was a great place to start and this property was perfectly located. It is indeed a big island but this was just central enough to make our trips north and south work well, and far enough from the larger Kailua-Kona bustle. We didn't drive to the Hilo side, and that would have been a bit more of a challenge. The golf course made for a pleasant view from the lanai, and we played it a couple of times. The walk up to the local shopping center was easy although a number of shops were still closed or limited hours when we were there; perhaps better now. Walks down to the bay were very nice especially early in the day when cooler. The unit was very well equipped and we lacked for nothing during our stay. I will agree with another reviewer about the "second bedroom" being a little misleading with its accordion closure and bordering on the lanai, so not really a great deal of privacy. However we were just a couple and used it for sorting gear for our next outing etc so it was fine. Not sure where occupants 5 and 6 would sleep though, unless you sleep 4 on the king bed. But other than that, nothing negative to report at all.

Great Value Great Location!

This is a well kept property with everything you need! Located on the golf course, gorgeous sunsets and sunrises (you are allowed walk down to lava beach on golf course after 5 p.m. to watch unobstructed sunset--locals do it daily). Pool is easy to find. Having the AC was great! The washer dryer was new and very useful! Shopping center right up the street with KTA grocery store, drug store, restaurants, etc. Very convenient. It is a very short drive to Kalauu Snorkel beach and a short drive to Magic Sands beach. We would stay here again in a a heartbeat! This is a top floor unit. The 2nd bedroom with two twins is really best for kids. Our 8 and 11 year olds were happy there. It would be a squeeze for adults, and one wall of the 2nd bedroom is an accordion divider from the living room that can open during the day. King in the master was comfortable and great. LOTS of pillows! The pull out couch would not be a comfortable option for someone's bed for a week. We tried it one night and it sleeps like an old pull out couch. But we didn't need it and were *very* happy with the accommodations overall. Excellent location, beautiful spot in Kona convenient to everything without being noisy and busy.

Kona post Christmas 2021

Very nice condo, ocean view complex, ocean sounds at night! Right on golf course. It’s an older community but very clean and accessible. A/C was def appreciated! Beds were comfortable, easy check in& out process. Only complaint was the building mngr? Came knocking on door to tell us we had parked on grass and needed to move immediately and implied we may have damaged a sprinkler head. The assigned parking slot is very odd shape and angled from other spots. I was only a few inches on grass and def no where near a sprinkler head. His approach was rude and unprofessional- did he need to make a snide remark along the lines of “ where’d they get their drivers license/sho taught them to drive”. Really?! I’m a 24 year veteran truck driver, but I came in late, in an unfamiliar rental car, parking in a dark parking area that has many shadows bcuz of the upslope. Totally left a bad taste in my mouth. This unpleasant encounter was quickly followed up by a friendly text from the property manager about the same issue. I explained the situation, she was very nice and probably saved the rental. Overall- good locale, well stocked condo as advertised. Long term residents were very friendly with great activitity suggestions.
