Enjoy a Smith Mountain Lake vacation in a beautiful lodge-like home. The timber rafters and gorgeous stone fireplace are exactly what you dream of when you think of a mountain/lake retreat. The furnishings are comfortable and will make you feel like home. Your morning coffee, evening dinners and even games can be played on the spacious deck outfitted with several "Kennedy" rockers or deep-cushioned chairs. If that's not enough, just wait until you get down to the huge dock! The main attraction is the giant u-shaped bar that is the envy of every boater who drives by. The comfy bar stools and 6 lounge chairs will offer a choice seat for everyone in your group.
Back up at the house is a well-appointed kitchen with aged, cherry cabinets, granite countertops and a wolf oven and range.
The bedrooms offer privacy for everyone with beds that are very comfortable. The master is on the main level and has a king bed and private bathroom. There is a queen bedroom upstairs as well as a bunk room with twin beds for five. (best for children.) There is an open loft with 2 more twin beds. The last bedroom is downstairs and has a queen bed and plenty of room to add another bed or crib.

We fell in love with Smith Mt. Lake while traveling through the South, looking to relocate from CA back to the East Coast. We love lake living, so we visited most of the lakes In VA and NC. Smith Mt. Lake had it all.
We are both originally from CT where most of our families still live. They fell in love with the lake too and enjoy vacationing at the lake with us every year.
We live full time in nearby Greensboro, NC and have 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren.
Although we all still enjoy coming up to SML, it’s only for short periods of time, so we thought it might be a good time to start sharing it with others.

Why they chose this property
This house is exactly what you want a lake house to be. Nicely decorated, but casual enough to put your feet up. The decks are covered with lots of seating and the dock... it’s just awesome! It has a huge bar with lots of shade and plenty of lounge chairs for everyone to have a spot.
