About this property

Family friendly mountain cabin with awesome westerly views in gated community.

Welcome to the Squirrel's Nest! This home was built in 2007 and has been used as a vacation rental home. Our family rented it on numerous occasions and fell in love. We were recently given the opportunity to purchase the home and did so without hesitation. The welcoming community, spectacular views and cozy cabin feel are all you need to feel right at home.

Our home sleeps 10 people comfortably, with room to relax and play inside and out. Enjoy the amazing decks - a covered main deck with rockers which wraps around to a large deck with a picnic table, gas grill and amazing westward views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as Mount Mitchell. Three of the bedrooms also have private balconies - the perfect place to escape for some peace and quiet. The main level master suite includes an extra long bathtub for you to stretch out in and relax. The downstairs living space includes a pool table, shuffleboard table and a closet full of movies and board games to make your stay fun no matter the weather.

Our home is located off Interstate 40, outside of Morganton and Marion, NC. There's so much to do within a 30-60 mile radius: breweries, wineries, shopping, hiking and more! We hope you visit the Squirrel's Nest.

Best Cabin Ever!

This cabin was perfect for our family holiday vacation. Ages 10 through 73 were comfortable and very pleased with their stay. We will be back to this location for sure!

The cabin was absolutely amazing. The wrap around pouch looking over the mountains could not be captured in pictures. What a view. We had a lot of cooks and the kitchen handled everything we needed it to.

Amazing views

Our family had a relaxing stay at this cabin. We hiked, fished at the lake, and relaxed in the rocking chairs every day. The cabin had everything we needed.

Views for sunset are wonderful on the back porch. Coffee and deer watching on the side porch in the mornings was nice also. Grandview peaks is a great neighborhood to relax and enjoy the Views. My family enjoy it yearly. Simple check in and communication with the owner was good. House is very well stocked.

Fantastic Christmas stay

Beautiful views abound at this property. This was our first Christmas that we spent away from home and it was such a great experience, the kids are ready to do it again. The home is very well appointed, comfortable and the decorations were beautiful and just right to make it feel like a home away from home. Communication was great and the check in process was very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

Our vacation at this cabin was perfect! Beautifal mountain views. And the place had everything you could possibly need. They had thought of everything. We haven't been on a family vacation since our children were small and this was the perfect choice for us!

Very Impressed

We were looking to spend Thanksgiving away from home and this place was perfect. The views, the spacious cabin, etc were all spectacular. Gorgeous view and property!

This is a beautiful home with a spectacular view of the mountains! We loved the rocking chairs on the porch for morning coffee, and also for sunset wine. The home is spacious, with a full bathroom and bedroom(s) on each floor. Ken was incredibly helpful and responsive. We loved our stay!

Amazing

We went to the cabin for my daughter's 5th birthday and had a lot of fun. Even though it was foggy and cold the whole time the cabin is extremely cozy with lots to do and plenty of space.

A lovely long weekend

We’ve been renting this house for several years now for our family’s yearly long weekend getaway. It’s a beautiful house with plenty of room for us to spend time together or apart. It’s well appointed, and we had everything we needed. We’ve already talked about going back next year.

Views!!

This cabin was AMAZING mountain views are breathtaking!! The game room was a plus especially for the kids! We had PLENTY of movies to choose from, this cabin had everything we needed for cooking. Thank you for sharing this beautiful cabin with us. I will stay again
