"Kokomo" is island life at it's finest. We are located right on South Bald Head Wynd in a cul-de-sac with spectacular ocean views. Spread out in our home with 5 bedrooms plus an additional sleeping space! Our first floor consists of an open floor plan with the living, dining and kitchen. We also have 2 master king suites and a half bath. Upstairs we have two more bedrooms and two baths. The first bedroom has two twins and the second bedroom has two queens and two twins. Outside we have a brand new two story crofter. Upstairs we have a king size bed and bathroom. The downstairs crofter has a living / tv area with a twin bed. The crofter is perfect for another family with lots of privacy yet still close to the main house. The house and the crofter is connected by a large deck / grilling area. Enjoy the privacy in the back yard, the spectacular views from the front porch from the hammock and rockers or the sitting area on the screen porch. We have plenty of outdoor living options. We have 2-six passenger golf carts, wifi, and access to both the BHI club and the Shoals with a separate purchase directly through the clubs.
Home includes; Gas grill, high chair, pack and play, crockpot, both Keurig and regular coffee maker, kayak, and 4 beach chairs.

Easily one of the best on the Island

Excellent home, very spacious and great use of the space to accommodate the whole family. Very responsive host and accurate description. Would stay at any of their properties in the future.

Two young families plus grandparents — there were 11 of us. Great location with 5-7 min drive to market and Shoals. Walkable beach access. Front porch with ocean view was my favorite!

Good spot for our large family

Kokomo was not in the best shape (driveway needs maintenance, missing shades in many rooms, half the beach chairs and bikes were unusable, golf carts were subpar), but the location is great, overall the house fit our crew well, and the property managers were very responsive and helpful. We'd go back!

Fantastic location & house set up

Kokomo is in a fantastic location just across from the beach access & a short trip to the market & shops. Plenty of space to spread out & the crofter is an added bonus for privacy. House was extremely well equipped with everything you would need. Will definitely be back for longer than a quick weekend!!

Wonderful location

Nice property with ocean view from the 3rd row back. Located off one of the main streets on the island, 5 min to BHI club and 10 min to Shoals. Easy access to beach. The deck space is wonderful and great for large groups. The gas grill has an in-ground propane tank. The kitchen was lacking in some necessary items like steak knives, etc., but was otherwise functional for preparing large meals.

Great Space and Location/Needs Some Attention

Loved the close proximity to beach. Great space for our three families with little ones. But the tv's didn't work like we were told and wifi didn't reach crofter. Also, a few kitchen outlets weren't working and we spotted a few dangerous fish hooks and a rusty broken door handle. Needs some handyman care.

We apologize for the issues! We did not hear of the TV's and checked after to make sure they are working and they are currently in working condition. The bedroom upstairs is a ROKU television with access to Netflix. We have repaired the outlets in the kitchen and replaced the door handle.

The Great Escape

My brother and I rented this cottage and had a total of nine people (adults and kids) comfortably stay at this fantastic cottage. In the middle of everything, close to the beach, well maintained and just flat out perfect. Hope to be back soon.

Perfect House!

The layout of this house is perfect for large families with two master suites and the extra crofter worked perfectly for us. Beautiful views of the ocean even though you’re not beach front and privacy from other homes nearby.

Great view. Needs work inside and out.

Wood floors in kitchen and 1/2 bathroom were warped and soggy in spots. Ceiling and wall mildew in a downstairs bathroom. BHI Services came immediately to 1) repair front stair railing and 2) replace broken microwave with new appliance. A broken drawer in the refrigerator needs replacing rather than taping. Still a lot of debris in yard. Not enough silverware for this sized rental.

The home was roomy and had a good layout. A few items needed attention, and most were handled efficiently. I wish the tv in the crofter worked. Wonder why it is there if it does not have WiFi connection. Good location. We really enjoyed the stay. 8/15/20

Great House - BUT

The house needs some serious attention in regards to paint, exterior shingles and overall upgrade. The downstairs LR/Bedroom in detached structure was unusable due to cigar smoke stench. I had to sleep on couch instead. The yard had various dangerous items including a sheathed knife just laying in the backyard with some old fishing lures, rusty bikes and junk. Was very dissappointed for 10K a week.

Kokomo was fantastic

We’ve rented on BHI for the last 15 years and from every rental company on the island. Brandy Parker with BHI Services really went the extra mile to make our stay fantastic. This property has lots of space for a big family and the separate crofter allows for guests to have a little more privacy. Beach access 24B is right across the street and easy to walk to. There are plenty of beds and bathrooms for your family/guests. The hammock on the front porch is an inviting place to watch the sunset. We had a great stay and would book this property again.
