About the host
Hosted by Sandie Gillespie
Three sisters plus a daughter/niece own this property, which was our mother’s home for many years. We are in our 70’s. We are from New Jersey. We have been visiting Sarasota since Mom relocated here in the 70’s. The area has changed a lot! Unfortunately we spend very little time here even though we love it!
Why they chose this property
Mom purchased this unit after downsizing from a single family home. The close proximity to downtown, shopping, dining and the arts makes this an ideal location. This area is mostly residential.
What makes this property unique
The property is located blocks from downtown Sarasota off of Fruitville Road. The proximity to entertainment, restaurants and beaches makes this an ideal spot to hang your beach hat! The Pelican shuttle just a few blocks away accesses Lido (2 miles) and Siesta (5miles) Beaches as well as downtown hot spots. Leave the driving to them! Hospitals and medical facilities are nearby.
Entertainment in the area includes movie theaters, a comedy club, Van Wezel Performing Arts, the Opera House, Aslo Theatre, the Ringling House & Circus Museum, Marie Selby Gardens, The Legacy Trail walk & bike path, countless galleries and shops. Mote Marine is nearby as well as the Miakka Elephant Sanctuary.
Favorite eating spots: Owen’s Fish camp, Patrick’s, Duvall’s, Kasey’s Seafood and too many to mention.
