The cottage was the perfect getaway! We could walk everywhere and did. Amazing restaurants and fun shops! Totally would recommend this cottage. Our hosts were so thoughtful and left us a little gift to help celebrate our anniversary.
We hope to visit again soon!

We are so pleased you enjoyed your anniversary getaway! We look forward to welcoming you back again!
We enjoyed staying at your lovely Marsh Hen Nest. Beautiful and quiet just one block off the main road. Loved the swing on the front porch to enjoy the birds (cardinals and red headed woodpeckers and march hens ). Reminded me of my grandmother’s home with the glass door nobs and the transume windows above the doors. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Wonderful! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us in this wonderful little cottage! Thank you for your kind words! We look forward to welcoming you back to Saint Simons Island again soon!
Our family had a wonderful time staying here. We loved the old charm of the house. The a/c unit worked fantastic! (It’s new). It was a close walk to the Village, the Lighthouse & pier, and the beach. I would’ve liked to see a dresser in the guest bed, and a more comfortable bed in the master. Overall we had an amazing time for our first visit to St. Simons Island. We plan to come back again.

Excellent location, old fashion house
Beautiful friendly neighborhood and easy convenient walks to village and beach. The home needs some updates… kitchen wasn’t easy to prep and cook in and electric outlets could use some attention throughout the home. There is no dishwasher or ice maker - you will need to buy ice. Overall we had a nice stay and enjoyed the visit but felt there were other properties comparable in price and location that had a bit more to offer and were more up to date.

We are so happy that you enjoyed our wonderful little beach cottage! The location can't be beat. Thank you for your feedback. We will certainly get the outlets looked at! We hope to welcome you again soon!
It was fine. Not great for older people. No railing in front steps leading into porch. No dishwasher which wasn’t a problem, but no ice maker which was.

Pros first. 307 May Joe house was an excellent location to easily walk to all the shops and restaurants. We drove to east beach in 5 minutes. MayJoe and surrounding streets are quiet and beautiful with huge shaded oak trees draped in Spanish moss. A great little park is located right around the corner. We enjoyed the screened in porch, especially during a late afternoon summer storm and morning coffee. Just a couple of minor cons. Front porch swing needs repair, or replaced as seat is torn through; One sink and no dishwasher in kitchen. And blinds are cheap and need replaced. It’s an old house in a perfect location and we thouroughly enjoyed out stay.

Thanks for staying, we are glad you enjoyed your trip to St. Simons Island! Mayjoe is a gorgeous Oak Tree lined street, so picturesque and quaint. We do appreciate your feedback and will be sure to take these suggestions into consideration for future upgrades to this wonderful home. Please come back and visit again soon.
This adorable 2 bedroom 1 bath older charming home was perfect for a couple and two small dogs. It had everything we needed, was in a perfect location close to the beach and multiple restaurants on the pier, and had a fenced in back yard for the pups. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 out of 5 stars is because the screen is broken in one place on the screened in porch and our yorkie was able to slip through the gap. The other issues with the home were that the swing is still broken, water in the kitchen is extremely slow when running, and the bed is too hard for my liking. However, the house has endless hot water, a nice couch and sitting area, large custom kitchen table, and a lot of character. We will definitely be back and I would recommend this house no doubt!

Thank you we appreciate your feedback and will look into these issues.
Everything about this property is delightful. It was cheerful, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The location couldn’t have been better, and we walked to the beach, to shopping, and to restaurants. We loved the front porch, especially after dark when we could hear all the night sounds. We highly recommend this sweet cottage, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful neighborhood, Had to clean all dishes and cookery, stains on floor, were told at check in
We brought our own sheets and towels, and cleaned their's as well before leaving. Windows were filthy, and yard was marginally okay. The door to outside by the toilet had a gap at the bottom of at least one inch. Very difficult to lock property.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry your stay was not 100% satisfactory and will have our team check on your concerns.
We knew this was an old house but we didn't realize that the main part of the house (plumbing and electrical) are subpar. Some cosmetic fixes have been applied but the house is in need of a good update. The worst part is the kitchen. The listing says there is a dishwasher. There is no dishwasher. Dishes had been put up not washed and most dishes and silverware felt greasy. We rent a house in order to have some of our meals relaxing instead of dining out for all meals. This was not appealing in a dirty kitchen. The best part of the house is the location. Easy walk to the beach and to the village and restaurants. It is in a quiet and lovely neighborhood. If you don't plan to eat anything at the house, this rental might work for you. Just don't give the plumbing (toilet) too much to think about.

This cottage is in a great neighborhood - very pretty with beautiful live oaks. The house is small and simple. It shows it’s age but the beds were comfy and the porch was great. The only issues were the a backed up sink in the bath and the porch swing was broken.

Thank you for your review, we are sorry you had a few issues and encourage our guests to reach out to us during their stay to arrange someone to come out immediately. However, we will get someone on this and hope you will visit with us again.
The house was nice but very drafty. We stayed in December during a cold spell and the house needed the heat pumped up. The door that went to the outside in the bathroom made that room especially cold. (Strange place for that outside door) We had also expected starter coffee or even tea but there were only filters. Some walls and doors need fixing. Furniture was comfy.

The location of this property could not have been better. We walked the dogs down to the beach twice a day and walked to town to pick up our dinner. The cottage is adorable and perfect for two adults and two dogs.
We are already planning on returning.

We are so happy to hear that you and your four legged friends enjoyed your beach vacation. We hope you will visit St. Simons Island again soon.
The property was everything we’d hoped for and more! The location was prime for going to the beach, town, and proximity to the grocery store and historic sites! The house is more spacious than it seems from the pics and very clean. We had a great time and will likely return. We have rented many houses for vacations all over the US and the world and this rental with online communication through text and the app is the best we’ve encountered to date. It’s definitely a winner!
