About this property

Little Moose Lodge (Tiny House) Mohawk River waterfront property

Our Moose Lodge is a four season rustic cabin (tiny house) located on our Mohawk River waterfront property. This cozy warm cabin was built using on site and local timber as well as reclaimed lumber. Includes full kitchen, full bath and loft with two full beds. First floor has a small couch that can be pulled out to accommodate more guests if needed. Smart TV sits above the large gas fireplace. Internet included as well as local channels. Well behaved pets allowed.
Although most of the flooring is re purposed 1860's planking, some is from the historical Shoemaker Tavern known for its visit by George Washington during his tour of the Mohawk Valley in 1783. Bring your snowshoes or skis and by all means bring your snowmobile as we are located on the NY State trail system. During the summer months you can bring your canoe, kayak or fishing boat as we are right next to the beautiful Saint Johnsville Marina.

The renter was extremely responsive and provided detailed information to make the whole process easy and stress-free. The kitchen, though small, had most of the amenities required to prepare meals readily available. For our purposes, the location was ideal to navigate to multiple places of interest.

One night stay

I stayed here for a one night and it was absolutely perfect. We woke up early and read books on the small front porch while watching a chicken run around the lawn. A lovely spot to stay!

Cousins Visit

Our stay was so restful and peaceful. We were in the area to reconnect with cousins and this tiny house was the perfect place to return to at day’s end. A great place for our dog too. We also appreciated Chris allowing us a late check out.

Awesome stay

Clean, comfortable, peaceful place to step away and unwind. Chris is the best kind of host; all needs are addressed promptly and efficiently, he is not intrusive in the least but always available, and has thought of everything at the cabin to make it an easy, effortless stay. The surroundings are peaceful: river, woodchucks, birds, and foxes lend themselves to an enchanting atmosphere but never come too close to bother. Passing trains and churchbells are a thing, but again, add to the unique charm of the place. Looking forward to next time. Oh, and the plane on the roof of the building is icing on the cake!

Great place-we’ll be back!

Everything was perfect at Little Moose Lodge. Our only slight issue were the steps to the loft. But it was definitely manageable. Communication with the owner was fantastic.

Crystals and Moose Lodge

Had a good weekend trip to dig crystals and visit with friends. Moose Lodge is clean, owner is quick to communicate. Small shower and beds a little uncomfortable up in the loft. Great location for what we needed! Loved seeing the plane on the roof......lol!

The Little Moose Lodge is a sweet, charming, quiet, private place to stay- a tiny but well-equipped, well-built, uniquely appointed cabin beside a couple of cabooses on a flat riverside property (note: train tracks nearby, with frequent daytime passenger & freight train use- interesting to see). Must be able to climb steep ladder steps to cozy sleeping loft.

Cool cabin

The cabin is neat! There are a few campers and a few caboose on property. Communication with owner was AMAZING! It is important to note, you will hear the trains ALL NIGHT LONG!!! We came home a day early because we were absolutely exhausted. Also, the loft is a ladder you climb. Definitely not for older adults. Perfect for 2 people, not 3 or more. Good location, very clean, awesome host.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Communication was especially good and check in was quite easy. The location was perfect for us since we wanted to bike the Erie Canalway Trail. Everything in our estimation was perfect. We will definitely recommend this place to friends.

The little moose lodge was very close to the bike trail, very clean, and had everything we needed. The watering can shower was cool, but didn’t allow for adjusting the direction of the stream.

Wish we could have stayed longer!

Our family of 4 stayed at Little Moose Lodge for one night and wished we had more time to explore! The bike trail, river access, historic sites and the charming town of St. Johnsonville were all very appealing. We enjoyed walking to a delicious breakfast at the Bridge Street Diner. And the tiny house itself was perfect for us. The loft steps are very steep, as mentioned, but the kids thought that just added to the adventure! They also loved seeing the cabooses on the property and hearing the trains go by. We would definitely stay here again.

Bike trip

Cute. Small. Kitchen well-equipped, including Keureg with some pods provided for coffee & tea, sweetener & powdered cream (morning coffee info is important to me!). Near Empire State Trail, which was perfect because I was biking in and out from the trail. Host very accessible. Location appears rural, but there are active train tracks very nearby, so it can get noisy, but it settles a bit at night. I was confused because in the listing it says sleeps 4, and in the photos the upstairs beds looked like twin size beds & the love seat appears to be in a different room than the full sized bed, so I thought there would be a bedroom downstairs, but there is not: upstairs beds are both full size. I did not check to see if love seat converts to a bed. Made no difference to me since I was traveling solo. I would stay here again solo. Would stay with one other person if I really loved them (it's small!).

Little Moose Lodge

Every provision you could think of is provided. The owner is very responsive to whatever you need. This is our third time staying in the different lodging available and is now our go to place when up that way. It’s quiet and peaceful even with the lull of the occasional train in the background passing. Just a nice relaxing place to just “be”. Love coming here!

Maine to Michigan stopover - Day 1

Awesome place! Loved the concept of a little log cabin with restored RR cabooses together in a park along the river. Great use of reclaimed materials in the floors, shower, and other places. Hosts recommended a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant just down the road for dinner. Best bread for sandwich roles I've ever tasted! To bad I won't be back this way again, but if I were, I'd definitely stay there again!
