Award Winning Architecture with Amazing Views

Located on a hilltop overlooking Santa Fe, New Mexico.

This unique home was designed by Charles F. Johnson, one of the Top 100 Architects in the world (according to Architectural Digest). This home is a 3,400 sq.ft. living sculpture. Based on a circlular design this double adobe home offers a rare mix of sophistication, sensuality and organic livability. What do we mean by livability? A cozy 'Kiva' style theater room with state of the art Theater-Entertainment center, a main fireplace with towering five foot flames in an arched sculpture with breathtaking elegance, and each room has unique wooden ceiling treatments from weathered aspen to Indian style pine lattias, amazing views of both mountains and city lights from inside and outside on the grand terrace, an outdoor spa/hot tub in a private natural setting with the same amazing views, dramatic indoor lighting, plus much, much more. . . . Oh yeah, and an elevator to the lower garage floor making the home very accessible to all ages (and just plain fun).

All this tucked into a very private hillside community just 1 mile north of one of the worlds most popular tourist destinations, Santa Fe's Historic Plaza district, famous for it's beauty, shopping, restaurants, art galleries and historic old world charm.

The Neighborhood
Beautiful hillside neighborhood, close to everything, yet very intimate. A long private drive-way and top-of-the-hill location make you feel far away from city life while just minutes away from the action. Pinon, Aspen, and Juniper trees all around the property,creating a private an oasis in the high-desert mountains.

The home is located in a secluded area off the road and as such offers added security and privacy.
Please note: there is a "ring door bell" on the front door which does have audio/video capability for the added security of the home and our guests.

Sound System
The sound system can be operated most easily with the HEOS App. For your convenience, you may want to download the app prior to you arrival and become familiar with it's use. If you have any questions, we are happy to help.

Hot Tub
As is common practice with spa use, please shower before use to remove dirt and excess oil or lotions.
Please make sure all 4 latches are opened before you open the hot tub covers.
There is a light weight green solar cover over the regular hot tub cover. This must be folder back over the "cover lifter" first before folding the regular cover over the lifter. Please always replace the cover along with the solar cover after every use.

A true gem!

This house is simply fabulous, inside and out! It is loaded with amenities, especially in the kitchen where there was a pantry with some staple items stocked. The architecture is amazing, the furnishings comfortable, the artwork interesting, and the views from the patio inspiring. The hot tub was enjoyed by all, especially after dark when the stars put on a show. We would definitely stay here again!

Family trip

My husband and I brought our two sons, ages 23 and 20 to visit my dad, (their grandpa), who is in an assisted living facility in Santa Fe. The home is absolutely amazing and the views are stunning. My youngest son's first comment upon arriving at the house was "it looks like we are on Tattooine!" We enjoyed using the binoculars at night to view the brilliant night sky. We even brought dad over to the house and the elevator made it easy for him to join us for a day of visiting and playing cards. The acoustic effects sitting at the dining table under the dome were fun to play with as well. We had a great trip and a comfortable stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Restful retreat

David takes great care of this wonderful piece of architecture. I stayed with my golden retriever for almost a week and wished I could have just moved in. It is such a unique building and just feels so solid and so well thought out. It was exactly what I was looking for. David was very responsive to my questions. And I am already planning a return with my family next time. There are a few spots of "wear and tear" here and there (mostly just a few casement windows that do not open), but they in no way reduced the pleasure of staying in this wonderful home. If you love great design and a natural space, please rent this place. You won't regret it!

Magical space

My friend and I stayed here for a week for a writing retreat and we loved everything about it. The space is stunningly beautiful- we would regularly catch ourselves uttering a spontaneous “wow!” as we walked around, throughout the week. It was the perfect space to support the writing tasks we faced. We thought we wanted to explore the many things in the area during our breaks (which would have been very easy- the property is well located), but we found it hard to leave the house and evenings by the fire proved irresistible. The manager was very solicitous and gracious and made sure we had everything we needed. Graciously and comfortably appointed. The paintings and art were lovely and added so much to the setting. In short, thus place is perfect for a special treat! I would go back in a heartbeat.

Wonderful Property

This house was the perfect place to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The pictures do not do it justice - it is architecturally so much fun and yet so cozy and comfortable - with throws conveniently placed in all sitting areas. The kitchen was well stocked with spices (including fresh peppercorns), sugar, tea and coffee (even olive oil). The baths and bedrooms were furnished with quality linens. Having been in a few rentals lately - David is an extremely generous host. The wonderful feature in this home is the elevator from the garage to the main floor - we are physically challenged so this not so small feature was a God send. The frosting on the cake is the lack of the posted "Houseskeeping Chore List" to be completed by the renter prior to departure. David asks that the towels be left on the towel rack and sheets remain on the bed as housekeeping will take care of everything. You do need to take care of garbage if you fill of the containers before you leave - but other than that you can just pack up and leave - WOW.... this was the checkout method when we first began renting through VBRO. Highly recommend this property when you visit Santa Fe - you won't regret it.

Even better than the listing

We had never been to Santa Fe before, and after reviewing the listing and booking the home, we were really excited and looking forward to our trip. It's hard to say that the photos don't do justice to the home - the pictures are impressive - but the home is more spectacular than the listing shows. We arrived just before sunset and went straight to the patio out back - the view overlooks Santa Fe - we watched the sunset every day during our trip - that view never gets old. There's a heater on the patio that was perfect for star-gazing at night. There's also a hot tub out back - we used it once - it was clean and only takes a minute to remove the cover. The home itself felt like a 5-star hotel - the architecture, the furniture, and the artwork - we spent the first night just staring at the walls and ceiling. The fireplace in the living room works great and there's plenty of wood out back. We had a fire every night - the couch and chairs are very comfortable and perfect for sitting in front of the fire. The kitchen has every thing you'll need. The beds and linens are really comfortable and bathrooms are spotless. There's a really nice media room, but then rest of the house is so amazing, we spent less than 1-2 hours there the entire trip. The home is under five minutes from the SF Plaza and Canyon Road. We drove to Hyde Park and hiked the West/East Circle trails - just about 20 minutes from the house. Isabella (property manager) called us throughout our stay to see if there was anything we needed, but our stay could not have gone better. We can't wait to go back!!!

Wonderful stay

The house is lovely, with very interesting architecture. The patio has great views and is a wonderful place for coffee or meals.The house has two nice bedrooms on opposite sides of the house, and a large communal living room where we spend most of the time. The kitchen was well-stocked and functional. We enjoyed using the elevator to bring groceries and luggage from the garage.David was very kind and responsive to any questions we had during our stay, and generally a pleasure to communicate with.

Better than pictures

This property is incredible. If you are looking for a quiet spot not *on* the square, but a short drive away - there likely isn’t a better spot. The house is stunning and has everything you need to cook, entertain, and relax. This is probably the first rental I’ve stayed at with a decanter! We spent some time just admiring the art around the home.The host was attentive as well, and I can’t thank them enough for allowing us to stay at such a lovely home.

True gem

what a wonderful home. Unique architecture, antique furnishings and fine artwork and decor made this a memorable stay. Conveniently located close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood, and fully equipped with everything needed for our stay, this property stood out among the many we stayed at during a recent cross-country road trip. Beautiful home in Santa fe

House was gorgeous, private and quiet with truly stunning views, photos did not do it justice. It felt secluded while still being a very short drive to downtown. house had a great layout for us, our in laws and toddler, with lots of room to run about. Plenty of guidance in the home witj clear instruction on everything from lights to the remote. Wish we had more time in Santa Fe to stay longer here.

Close to everything, superb home!

This unique home has everything anyone needs to make their vacation special and memorable. We chose to stay in the guest bedroom, which has views of Santa Fe from its’ elevated location. Sleep with the shades up to enjoy the night lights and spectacular sunrises. There’s also an elevator from the garage level up to the main floor…very convenient for getting the groceries in. This is just a spectacular home, you won’t find a cooler place in Santa Fe and the owner is a great guy. Thanks, David.
