About this property

Lakefront Cottage, 35' from waters edge!

This charming fully renovated cottage, located on pristine Lake Pemaquid, is 3 miles from the center of the picturesque village of Damariscotta ME. It sits 35' feet from the water's edge with a private sandy beach. On a private road, our cottage is on a lot surrounded by nature, beautiful sunsets and relaxing days.

The lovely cottage, recently renovated with a bright new kitchen, granite countertops, living room with a wall of windows over looking the lake, solid wood floors, comfortable beds, internet access, Smart TV with cable and Netflix, a new fully equipped kitchen and an open floor plan that is inviting and relaxing. The deck off the living room is a perfect place for morning coffee, lunchtime barbecues, and cocktails in the evening. The large wooden dining room table will comfortably seat 6.

Sit on the private back deck off the master suite and watch the sunset, read a book or sunbath. Have your morning coffee in privacy, open the sliders for fresh air and listen to the sound of the loons at night. Master bedroom has a firm king mattress. Television and small sofa also located in master bedroom.

The second bedroom has a queen size bed with a ladder in the corner of the room which goes up to a small loft area. The additional loft space above has one futon mattress on the floor that could fit an older child or teen.

There is laundry room with washer, dryer and sink. The driveway will accommodate 3 automobiles.

Please note! A few hundred feet from the cottage is Lake Pemaquid Campground, with amenities such as a pool, hot tubs, children's entertainment, hay rides, a basketball court, tennis courts, playgrounds, horse shoes, paddle board, etc. You can rent paddle boats, kayaks, etc. from Lake Pemaquid Campground. The Campground hosts local bands on the weekends with drinks and dancing, the place is bustling during the summer season. We have an established relationship with the campground owners, who for many generation have let the local residents on our private road use the campground facilities. Their only request is that the guests are respectful and considerate of the property. Please help support their business by purchasing items and food from the campground store. Common sense goes a long way, no dumping trash, no parking on their property and follow all campground rules.

Our cottage is on a private, wooded lot but just a few hundred feet from the campground.

The 50' foot aluminum dock is a great place to sit and soak your feet in the water, or to tie up the rented kayak or paddle boat. Go fishing for brook trout, perch, brown trout, bass in Lake Pemaquid or take a short drive to the many surrounding lakes in the area.

Nice Spot/Convenient Location
We enjoyed our long weekend at this cute lakeside home. It was just as described. Watching the sunrise from the deck definitely a highlight! The lake is beautiful and we enjoyed paddling aroung in kayaks rented from the campground next door. The one drawback, which has been mentioned in other reviews, was having the very large campground directly next to the property. We were gone most of the day, so were not very bothered by noise. One evening, there was live music playing very loudly, although it stopped by 10:00 pm sharp. The owner was very responsive to our questions and provided great suggestions of things to do in the area. The town of Damariscotta was charming and the location was very convenient for day trips to Boothbay Harbor, Rockland and many other amazing places.

Great 3 Day Getaway
This rental met all of our needs for a relaxing getaway! It has everything you need. Very comfortable beds. It was a windy weekend so just take note that many acorns hit the metal roof. But not a showstopper. Also they do mention that they are next to a campground. It is definitely right next to it. We had no issues because it was end of season. I’m sure louder during the summer months. The view is beautiful, and it was very serene. We would rent again.

Great location and beautiful lake, but not cleaned well
Long story short, loud on weekends due to children at the attached campground, unclean, but really beautiful location and nice amenities. Just bring Lysol wipes. TL;DR My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, and while the property was really nice, I have a few words of caution for future travelers...The most important was the cleanliness, or lack of rather. There was food stains all over the kitchen island, food dripping off the outside of the microwave and oven, and the bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. In fact, the master bathroom had toothpaste splashings all over the mirror and faucet, the tub had two empty razor cartridge caps, and the towels were either really dirty or badly stained. And thats not even mentioning the laundry someone left in the washer or the hair in the bed sheets or the unemptied trash cans. Honestly with my wife being a nurse, she was horrified to see such high touch places lacked cleaning so we spent the first hour and a half sanitizing everything! Once we did that, the place felt really nice! On another note, if you are looking for a quiet weekend retreat, this is not it so keep looking. The house is 300 ft from the campsite, but that is way closer than you think...the noise of all the children yelling and skateboarding at the attached skatepark all night Saturday really sucked...thankfully Sunday and Monday were quiet. To leave on a good note, the lake is beautiful and the amenities are really accessible at this location. We found ourselves really close to Hannaford, which was perfect and taking the inflatable boat out was a breeze!!
