We stayed in Springfield cottage for a week and absolutely loved it. The cottage is perfect for 4 people and is to a very high standard . The hosts, Chris and Alison added some lovely personal touches to the cottage ( milk in fridge, fruit bowl, flowers in a varse) and were very attentive and friendly on arrival. Their communication before the trip was brilliant and answered any questions we had immediately. Loved Pembrokeshire and the cottage is in a great central location for both the South and North Coast of the peninsular. The cottage was spotlessly clean!

Hi Richard & Heather, Thank you for such lovely feedback it means a lot to us, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay here and exploring Pembrokeshire.
This is our first season since 2019 and Covid, it has been really special having some amazing families such as yourselves holidaying here again, enjoy the rest of the summer and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
This is a 5 star property in a 5 star location!
As we made our way through the lanes from Carmarthen into the midst of the most beguiling landscape we were entranced.
The floristically abundant high hedgerows lined the route to our charming destination.
The cottage is immaculate and beautifully presented. It’s a credit to Chris and Alison and their passion to offer the most welcoming escape to weary holiday makers.
The attention to detail was a complete delight with everything supplied from logs for the wood burner, shower gels, bubble bath and even a wondrous welcoming Victoria sponge cake! We were utterly spoilt.
Chris and Alison have mastered the art of hospitality with everything considered and thought through. The garden surrounding the cottage is a glorious retreat with far reaching vistas in the distance.
We were consistently entranced as we ventured forth in all directions, taking the slow routes into the wild of Pembrokeshire.
The landscape is pure magic and certainly cast its spell over us. The flora and fauna an absolute treat.
We have been so fortunate to see so many wondrous creatures from puffins and pods of dolphins we could almost touch, to foxes and weasel families going about there daily business .
So much to see but so little time!
It’s been perfectly blissful.
We will be returning.
Thank you.

Have a great summer and see you again soon
The hosts of this cottage are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The cottage although small is perfectly equipped and the outside garden is great additional space. It is the extra personal touches that made our stay at this cottage rememberable - shortbread , hot chocolate, treats for the kids and a lovely cake . Would definitely recommend and we hope to go back again.

Fantastic place to stay
We booked a week at the cottage whilst exploring Pembrokeshire. The cottage is great, it's really clean and gorgeous location.
The owners are very helpful with providing information and were there to meet us on arrival.
We had some brilliant days out at Folly Farm and the Dinosaur park as well as the beaches.
We would definitely stay here again, as although its a bit further out, its a lovely peaceful location and really well thought out cottage with everything you need provided including deckchairs and a windbreak for the beach.
Highly recommend

Cosy and spotlessly clean cottage in great location with a very friendly and helpful owners
We had a great time staying at Springfield Cottages. The cottage is quite small, but was plenty big enough for the four of us and really cosy. It's freshly decorated and was beautifully clean. It was really handy having the use of the pig sty outside to store our bikes. The reservoir just down the road is beautiful and has a great play area and a family trail you can walk or cycle. The cottage is perfectly located for exploring all of Pembrokeshire. The cottage is set back from the main house so you have your own privacy and outside space but Chris the owner was extremely helpful and welcoming. We hope to return in the future.

Pure bliss in a holiday let. Special touches found nowhere else including fresh flowers in a vase!
This place is perfect for familes and couples alike. Loads of boards games for the kids. A coffee machine for the adults. A lovely stove to make it even cosier. Plenty of special touches including a welcome pack of biscuits, cake and even a bunch of flowers. I've never seen so much detail put into a guest welcome in self catering before. Cottage finished to an exceptional standard. The use of the word "pig sty" to describe the on site shed demeans the property. Its realy a lovely shed that even has tennis rackets, logs for the fire, deck chairs etc for guest use.
Would recommend to a friend. The guest review book in the house doesn't have a single negative comment. Keep it up!

Lovely little cottage, which is very cosy in real quite countryside bit great location to get round
Really enjoyed our stay. Chris and Alison are really lovely people and very welcoming. They are there if you need them but let you get on with it so felt like a real home from home. The
cottage is really cosy with a lovely log fire to put on in the evenings. The cottage has every thing you could want inclluding great views from kitchen and bathroom windows of the fields behind in which we spotted a couple of sparrow hawks. There is a good garden to use which we didn't use as it was mid October but great Bbq location. Its a great location to get round the Prembrokeshire beaches and costal walks, good central location. Overall we were very impressed just wish we were back there now. Would recommend to family and friends

Great property with lovely owners. A great base for exploring the beautiful Pembrokeshire region
The cottage was lovely. We arrived to a warm welcome by the owner who showed us around. Although we did not have to ask for anything else during the holiday I'm sure it would not have been a problem. The welcome pack was really useful and accurate and we used it a lot during the week. We used the extra space in the 'pigsty' (actually s lovely converted space where you also recycle and have lovely extras like wood for the burner and bbq) for storing beach stuff in inland days out which was very useful. It was no more than an hour in any direction to our furthest day out which was great. The cottage was clean and cosy and as a family of 4 very comfortable.

Alles in allem sehr empfehlenswert.

Perfect peaceful retreat
The cottage is beautifully decorated & has everything you could need. There's a BBQ, wood burner, even an outhouse where you can store bikes.
Pros: clean, nicely furnished with good quality furniture & fittings, peaceful setting, private garden, great owners who leave you too it but are friendly enough and there for any questions. About 45 mins drive to
Lots of amazing walking spots around the coast.
Cons: water pressure in the shower was poor, maybe due to rural location.
We really enjoyed it and would recommend !

Response from VrboOwner on 22 March 2020
Lenn is absolutely right, the low water pressure is due to Springfield Farm being on the outskirts of the village. We are looking to address this slight inconvienice and improve the guest experience by refitting the bathroom again with a standalone shower cubicle and power shower.

About the host
Hosted by Chris, Alison & Harriet
We are Chris & Alison, with Alison's mother originally from the area (Pont Ffaen) and visiting for the last 30 years we have always had a desire to live in Pembrokeshire. We bought Springfield in June 2014, a traditional Pembrokeshire farm house with original slate buildings and a holiday cottage converted from the stables in the 70's, all of which are set in approximately an acre.
We have fully refurbished the holiday cottage in a contemporary style and set out to offer our guests the experience that we expect and strive to provide everything they need for a relaxing holiday, whether it be visiting the variety of landscapes Pembrokeshire has to offer or just curling up in front of the wood burner.
By no means Eco-Warriors we are conscious of our environment and try where ever possible to adopt green practices, we plan on installing a poly tunnel to grow our own produce and have already built a three stage compost plant. We enjoy up cycling and have tried to use salvaged materials on the land and anything we can't use ourselves we 'free cycle'.
With the lack of light pollution and the clear air the night sky's never cease to amaze us with the brightness of the stars from our own little oasis, or the wildlife in our garden from buzzards, red kites to woodpeckers.
Why they chose this property
Although Springfield was in need of a 'little' love and care and seriously overgrown, we saw through the dereliction and feel in love with the property and lifestyle it offers us and know are keen to share both it and Pembrokeshire.
Set in a tranquil village surrounded by open countryside and stunning views we are ideally located to experience the wide variety of coastline, natural landscape, landmarks, wildlife and facilities that Pembrokeshire has to offer. Springfield offers us the opportunity to share everything that Pembrokeshire has to offer with our guests.
What makes this property unique
Everybody that visits Cwtch Cottage loves the woodburning stove and enjoy having everything to hand, whether it be to rustle up a sandwich, cook a roast or BBQ locally produced burgers and sausages. The coffee machine proves popular too.
We have tried to think of most things, so although self catering we provide wood for the stove, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, silver foil, cling film, cloths and sponges.
We have provided quality items, with a full sized oven and hob, dishwasher, saucepans and utensils, we are aware that so many properties are furnished with secondhand, mismatching and hand me down items, many of which date from the 70's. We want your self catering holiday to be special and full of nice surprises.
We also put milk in the fridge, tea, instant coffee and coffee pods ready for a welcoming drink on your arrival. If you would like shopping delivered we are more than happy to accept a delivery before you arrive.
Cwtch Cottage is a tranquil retreat in the countryside but well within easy reach of all that Pembrokeshire has to offer so makes the ideal central base to explore the countryside, walks, beaches and attractions throughout the county.
