Great for a quick spring skiing break at Boreal

Location wasn’t far from Boreal. Fit 4 easily. Some nice home updates but a little worn.

Sierra home in truckee

Unable to use gas fireplace, refrigerator ice and water did not function, linoleum lifting up in various rooms, spider webs in blinds, hear everything through all walls. Kitchen was not clean esp stovetop. Carpet in living room full of pet hair.

The house was very nice and warm. One issue was that there was no shampoo/conditioner/soap for the showers. I don't remember seeing that we needed to bring these things. Also, upon our arrival the code provided to us didn't open the door. We had to call the afterhours phone # and have the code reset. The last thing I want to mention is that the front door interior door handle fell off as we were leaving one morning. My husband was able to fix it but you may want to look at it as well.

Good place

However i was bit by a spider and my girlfriend was bit by what appears to be a hobo spider bite this occurred in the bed, upstairs master bedroom. Highly reccomend the owner bug bomb the bedroom and especially the bed area prior to renting out again.

Wonderful cabin!

Great cabin with pretty front porch view of Donner Lake. Very clean, comfy beds had everything we needed for our 5 day stay with the family, and gated all around which was great for our fur babies. Only 5 min drive to the lake which was very convenient for the family and kiddos. Same with local stores and main town is only minutes away. Great location, would definitely come back again!

Good house in solid location

Stayed with some family while visiting friends that live in the neighborhood, so full disclosure we knew what to expect with the location. But to summarize Pros: - House was cleaner than expected based on prior reviews - Well stocked kitchen / linens etc - Nice views of the lake - Spacious layout - Lots of parking - Dog friendly Cons / Considerations - Not exactly "across the street" from Donner Lake. The "street" is Interstate 80 so you can't really walk to the lake from the house - To the point above, I80 is loud and this house is in a spot where the noise travels into the house if you have the windows open (something you get used to eventually?) - Check in time isn't until 5pm which is quite late by most standards. Overall it worked well for what we needed, but we knew what we were getting into with the location and road noise.

Good Getaway

We had a great time at the Sierra Getaway house with our daughter, young grandkids and their dog. The closed in space for the dog was important and the house was clean. Management is very responsive and clear about renter expectations. The bedrooms with the queen and king are large and the bedroom with the bunk bed is medium sized. We thought that the house was across the street from Donner Lake but it is actually on the north side of hwy 80. You have to get in the car to walk to the lake. There is a nice view from the large front deck and although your cant see the hwy you can hear it. The kitchen is updated with new appliances but the refrigerator is too big for the space; one side door on the side by side refrigerator cant be opened fully because the door hits the wall when it’s opened making part of the fridge blocked off. The house is close to shopping, skiing, hiking, mountain biking but you have to drive to get to all start points.

Great location stay

This place checks all the boxes for a convienient spot near hiking and skiing. Nothing fancy but has everything you need. Our only complaint (perhaps covid related) was we didn’t like the 5pm check in- with a child that is a difficult time not to mention you pay for three days and it’s really more like two days with some change. Very convient and it was a beautiful area to stay.

Dirty and Noisy

Looks great online but think pictures need to be updated...cob webs in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Carpets don’t look like they have been cleaned in years. Stove drawer dirty, couch had stains and a very large burn spot on cushion. No blankets during winter months, thank goodness we brought a couple, hate sleeping with the heat on high. For a “COVID” Clean house and what we paid for a cleaning fee this cabin was NOT cleaned!!! Also did I mention you are literally on top of I80 which you are with a lot of places in Donner but this one is at the on ramp and toy definitely hear the truck and cars especially with chains...:( I understand that Tahoe in general is getting way over priced but this was no where near what we paid for the nightly rate!

It was ok

Overall location and place was good. House is big enough for two families with kids and cozy. Though not so clean and furniture is quite old. Cushions on the couch definitely needs to be replaced. Some of the doors don’t close all the way. Just a bit thoughtful cleaning and it will be great!
