The Neighborhood:
White Oaks Haven is just one of our 18 getaways here in Michigan! In spring, enjoy the vibrant blooms and greenery. Summer brings fun on the water—boating, swimming, and soaking up the sun. Fall allows for scenic walks through the nearby Allegan State Game Area or our own hiking paths in the area. And of course, winter offers skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and snow-filled fun.
We’re 10-15 minutes from Crane’s Orchards and Dutch Farms - amazing pies and fruit picking. Fenn Valley Winery offers tastings and tours. Antique lovers, the area has a treasure trove of stores in South Haven, Allegan, Douglas, and Saugatuck. Summer brings dune rides, South Haven & Saugatuck's beautiful beaches, biking trails, and fruit galore: cherries, blueberries, raspberries, and peaches.
Note: We aim to maintain a peaceful environment for all our guests and neighbors. Large, disruptive parties are not allowed.
Getting Around:
We are conveniently located close to some of SW Michigan’s cutest coastal towns—15 minutes from downtown S. Haven, 20 minutes from Saugatuck, and 30 minutes from Holland.
Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) is located just under 45 miles SE of this home.
Gerald R. Ford Int'l. Airport (GRR) in Grand Rapids, is located about 57 miles NE of this home.
Amtrak's Pere Marquette line runs daily between Chicago, IL and Grand Rapids, MI through both Bangor, MI (15 miles south) and Holland, MI (25 miles north).
Please note: We don’t offer electric vehicle (EV) charging on-site. Attempting to charge an EV here damages our electrical system, any violations will incur a $400.00 fee plus any repair costs. Thank you for helping us keep things running smoothly!
Other Things to Note:
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone:
1. Dogs must not be left unattended unless safely crated.
2. Please keep barking to a minimum so everyone can enjoy a peaceful environment.
3. Help us protect the furniture by keeping your dog off uncovered surfaces. We’ve provided blankets and towels to make things dog-friendly.
4. Clean up after your dog(s) and dispose of waste in the provided scooper and disposal can.
5. Only fully house-trained dogs are allowed (puppy pad training isn’t permitted).
6. Please keep your dog(s) leashed when outside, as the yard is unfenced, and follow leash laws at Upper Scott Lake access nearby.
7. Do your best to clean up dog hair and other messes before you leave.
8. For health and safety, we kindly ask that dogs not be bathed inside. We’ve got an outdoor hose and towels for rinsing off your pup after an adventure.
Thank you for helping us keep our home pet-friendly and welcoming for everyone!

About the host
Hosted by Elizabeth Kosten

I was raised in southwest Michigan, in the Grand Rapids area, and I have always reveled in the natural beauty to be found here in our Great Lakes State. I just love being near the water, so any chance I get to be near a lake is a perfect opportunity for me to relax and unwind. I hope you get to know our beautiful state when you stay with us, because to know it is to love it!
Why they chose this property
The owner was immediately drawn by the natural beauty of Upper Scott Lake and its environs — not to mention the extensive outdoor activities and peaceful surroundings. Since then, they have made it a priority to spend as many summer weekends in the area as they can.
What makes this property unique
This home is designed for medium-sized groups and families who want to escape the mad rush of daily life and spend time growing closer to one another, all while experiencing the tranquility and enjoyment that "life in the country" has to offer. We have worked to provide a balance of comfort, functionality, charm, unity, and fun throughout our home and grounds. We even designed our outdoor spaces to provide maximum opportunities for gathering together to enjoy good meals and good conversation. We sincerely hope that the inspiring forest views from the living room and 3-season porch will soothe and comfort you as much as they do us. We love creating welcoming spaces that draw you in with their cozy and charmingly-decorated rooms designed with great care, and our greatest desire is to see you return year after year so you can continually create new memories with those you love.
