Sopris Sundeck is a peaceful mountaintop retreat with sweeping views of 13,000-ft Mount Sopris. This 2-bed, 2-bath guest house features an expansive deck, vaulted ceilings, open-concept living, and space for up to six guests. Just minutes to Carbondale, Basalt, and Glenwood Springs, and 35 minutes to Aspen, it's the perfect Roaring Fork Valley base. With a cozy fireplace and pet-friendly charm, this home blends comfort, style, and mountain serenity.
Perched above the valley floor with panoramic views of Mount Sopris, the Sopris Sundeck invites you to slow down and take it all in. This freestanding guest house spans 1,000 square feet and blends rustic charm with thoughtful comforts — the kind of place where sunset lingers just a little longer and mornings start with mountain light filtering through the pines.
Step into a welcoming open-concept space with vaulted ceilings and a cozy stone fireplace (electric insert). The living room is designed for connection — a movie night on the plush sleeper sofa, a round of cards at the dining table, or a glass of wine as the sun dips behind the peaks. The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, a gas range, oven, dishwasher, and all the essentials to prepare everything from hearty breakfasts to après-hike dinners.
Each of the two bedrooms is positioned at opposite ends of the home for added privacy and features a queen bed, ensuite bathroom (with tub and shower), and sliding doors that open onto the wraparound deck. One suite includes a desk nook — perfect for remote work with a view. The pullout queen sleeper in the living room offers memory foam comfort for additional guests.
Outside, the expansive deck is the heart of the home — ideal for morning coffee, afternoon reading, or evenings spent under Colorado's starlit sky. A new washer/dryer is tucked just off the kitchen, and both heating and cooling ensure comfort in any season.
Perfect For: Families or friends seeking a scenic, central base to explore Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, Basalt, or Aspen — all within an easy drive.
Pet Friendly: This home is pet friendly for up to two dogs. There is a $25 per dog, per night which is automatically added to your reservation when you select the number of pets you are bringing.
