Our 4 BR, 3 BA home is a perfect getaway for families or couples wanting a nicely appointed, comfortable vacation rental at any time of the year. Situated on a large lot on the beautiful Crystal River, the house has over 3,100 square feet of living space on two levels:
1) An open-concept main floor with fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, large deck, 2 bedrooms, 2 ensuite full bathrooms, and laundry room.
2) A walk-out lower level with 2 more bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, a large family room with patio and back yard access, and a bar sink, refrigerator, and microwave.
The house features hardwood floors and quartz kitchen counters on the main level, carpeting in all bedrooms and family room, and an eclectic western style with comfortable furnishings.

Downtown Carbondale—only a 15-minute walk from the house—is a charming, historic town and a wonderful alternative to Aspen or Glenwood Springs. Named one of the best towns in Colorado by Outside Magazine and 5280, Carbondale offers restaurants fit for foodies as well as access to art, music, shopping, and terrific recreational options.

You will find world- class downhill skiing and snowboarding in Aspen and Snowmass, easily accessed in 30-45 minutes by car or local bus. Ski Sunlight mountain near Glenwood Springs is a smaller but popular alternative with locals as are the two hot springs pools in Glenwood. Cross country skate and nordic skiers enjoy groomed trails at nearby community-run Spring Gulch, others in Snowmass and Aspen, and many ungroomed back country trails. The area offers unparalleled cycling (paved trails running from Aspen to Glenwood Springs) and mountain biking.

Fishing is popular in the gold medal waters of the Crystal and Roaring Fork Rivers as well as other rivers nearby, and rafting/kayaking trips are also offered through local outfitters. Golfing at lovely River Valley Ranch is less than a mile away. The surrounding national forests provide exceptional hiking for all levels of hikers and are particularly beautiful during the summer and fall seasons.

Another historic town, Redstone, is only 15 minutes south of town up scenic Highway 133.

This was the 3rd time we have rented this property. Love the space - huge downstairs family room, bedrooms & closets are large (no tripping over your luggage during your stay), the front entryway has plenty of room for shoes, hats, coats and gear for outdoor adventures, and the garage is great for skis and bikes so you don’t have to leave everything on or in your car. The neighborhood great for walking and there is access for a local walking/biking path. You can walk from the house to City Market.We love this property and will rent again next time we are in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Beautiful home that is very clean and well appointed. Excellent location and is within walking distance to downtown for restaurants. Also a brand new shopping center just opened with a City Market for grocery shopping. Owners responded quickly to questions and made sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend!

The house was well maintained and had everything we needed for a month long stay. The kitchen was fully equipped and the outdoor grill was new. Ample sheets and towels for a group. Wonderful stay

This property was perfect for our family vacation. The floor plan was perfect for our party of 8. The back deck and patio area are private and peaceful. House well accommodated- had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, etc. Will definitely return!

Lovely home

The property is in a great location, was convenient to all the activities and people we came to visit. The property was not quite ready for us when we arrived as housekeeping was delayed but the owners quickly remedied that problem and we enjoyed our stay in Carbondale very much!

Great house

The house is perfect. It has enough room so 8 guests feel very comfortable. The deck is beautiful and the kitchen is perfect. We cooked and baked quite a bit and it was super comfortable. Very near town so running out for anything you need is easy. Also close to trails and beautiful country. Perfect house and location.

So private but in a neighborhood

This home is wonderful for two families. The kitchen is well stocked. The evaporative cooler kept the house cool in the afternoon and evenings. It was great to hear the River running. The home is in a quiet neighborhood and convenient to town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our favorite spot

We love the layout of the house with practically two separate spaces. Our grandsons and their parents stay downstairs and the kids can have their own space to play and sleep. We love the back deck which feels like you are in the trees and you hear the river below. The front yard is perfect for outdoor games or you are just a short walk to a lovely park with lots of space for baseball, kickball, football, whatever the kids want to play. There is a path just a few houses away that the kids can take to the water to fish or just throw rocks. It’s really ideal for our needs.

Lovely location and comfortable

This house is welcoming and has a great layout. The entry has lots of hooks and cubbies for gear and coats. The kitchen is well appointed and connects to the upstairs living room, dining room and deck. The rooms are all good sized and the downstairs is private and huge. Hosts were very responsive and the location is great for walks and skiing. True vacation home without any desks to tempt one into working.

Fabulous home

We have stayed here several times just because it is so perfect! The house is perfect for a family, lots of private space and yet a very lovely deck for outdoor feasting together. We couldn’t ask for a more perfect fit for us. The kitchen is always well stocked with the basics so no need to run out and get all your spices,oils etc. as soon as you check in. The beds are very comfortable, house is well furnished, we love it all!

A perfect fit for us!

Outdoor sitting areas are important to us and this house was perfect! We had 3 couples all cyclists. The bike rides in this area are just breathtaking, especially with the fall foliage! The house is not new, but very comfortable. And it was the best equipped vrbo I have every stayed in (and I have a lot of experience in this type of travel). Loved our stay and hope to come back.

A little piece of heaven.

The location was perfect for skiing in Aspen by day and soaking in the hot springs by night. The kitchen was very well appointed with everything that you would need from home for your favorite recipes. Spacious rooms and plenty of linens and towels. We would definitely stay again. And the icing on the cake, was waking up and having the driveway shoveled. Nice touch!!🙂

This home is special to us. My husband, Tom, built this house in 1991, and his sons grew up here. Now a second home, we enjoy time here ourselves with family and friends whenever we can get away.
We still work in the Denver-Boulder area, but as we scale back we are spending more time in Carbondale. In the meantime, we want to share the house and all of the wonderful activities the area offers with others.
