As listed, we enjoyed a rustic, historic cabin on the knoll overlooking the Shenandoah River with all the amenities we needed. Quiet, peaceful, plenty of privacy, and a restful stay in the cabin, on the porch, on the river bank landing, or in the hot tub.
Excellent location for exploring Skyline Drive and Luray. Hiking by day hot tub under the stars at night. Cabin was great for unplugging and relaxation. Perfect spot for couples retreat!!!
We came to Luray to visit friends and family. The cabin was the perfect landing spot for us to rest. It’s a very peaceful spot in the woods right on the river. Our dog enjoyed it too! We would stay again.
Cute little cabin, perfect for a couple. Bed was comfortable. I was worried about how hot it might be upstairs in the bedroom but there are 2 ceiling fans that circulate well. Bed was comfortable. Hot tub was great - watch out for the hornets that think they own it when opening lid. While right on the South Fork of the Shenandoah, there is no direct river access on the property. The river was running really slow due to low water and we didn’t want to fry tubing for 5 hours. We drove about 10 minutes to Inskeep boat landing and tied our tubes to a rock and just chilled - it was fabulous! It’s about 30-40 minutes to Shenandoah National Park and about 50-60 minutes to Rose River trail which we hiked. About 45-50 minutes from Harrisonburg. A great location and a great place to get away but still have WiFi for info & tv. Highly recommend. But guard your food - there was a mouse who nibbled our bread.
Absolutely perfect. On the second night we grilled and ate dinner on the lower deck and saw a bald eagle "fishing" and a boy deer swim across the river!! We loved our time here. Can't wait to come back!
This cabin was absolutely perfect for my husband and I to escape the city and enjoy true peace and relaxation. The view, the hot tub, the fireplace, the location, the set up of the home with everything we needed... we truly could not ask for more.
If you are looking to take some time "off the grid" (as we had), this is the perfect place. After a day of excitement (ATV, hiking), it was nice to relax in the hot tub, watch DVD movies, lite the fireplace and soak up the peace and quiet before returning back to civilization.
Great vintage cabin. It was clean and nicely laid-out. Only odd thing was that the rules state to keep your dog on a leash, as neighbors have complained. Two neighbor dogs were visiting our cabin and dog every day! And all the no trespassing signs made it impossible to walk anywhere but the access road.

Weekend getaway
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend to relax without the kids. The location of the property was great and we enjoyed the quiet. Unfortunately there was no Wi-Fi as advertised and the heat was inconsistent. The warning signs about paying for anything that was lost or broken detracted from a welcoming feel. We would go back to the area but stay at a different rental place.

This post is not accurate. We have a $10,000 courier heating and ac unit. Maybe these folks did not know how to use it. Further if you review our advertising, it clearly states that we only have a hot spot wifi device for internet which can be intermittant as we are waiting for broadband to our area. Also any and all guests are informed verbally when making a resevation about the inconsistant hot spot device as some people must have wifi to work while there. The only sign in the cabin about breaking anything is the fireplace grate. It simply states to |place logs into fireplace" and "not throw them in" as it has been broken by neglient guests in the past. Most guests respect other folks property that they rent from. However, it just takes one person who is disrespectful of the property to initiate a sign. Further if people cannot respect other people's property, then really they should not be renting other people's property. Some
My husband and I stayed for our 24th anniversary. The cabin is very charming and in a great location. We enjoyed sitting on the dock whenever we could with coffee or to eat meals or just relax and watch the wildlife. Probably my favorite part of the cabin. Location is great since it is very close to Luray and other places we enjoy visiting there.
There was only 1 major issue and the rest were just nit picky things. The kitchen has a decent size spot of mold growing on the ceiling. Probably from a leaky roof. If you are sensitive to mold I would recommend making sure it is fixed before going. Having a kitchen strainer would be nice since we ended up eating most of our meals there. Would make dishes easier to do and dry. The lights in the hot tub did not work and one of the jets was broken. The grill is charcoal not propane.

Thank you for your review. The kitchen ceiling was repaired and the leak was fixed.
Please Note: It was NOT black mold. This is a serious assumption to write in a review and it is not taken lightly.
My wife and I stayed here this passed weekend. We were looking for something quiet and peaceful and this was perfect for us. Beware, there’s not good service here or at least wasn’t for us, so if you need it make sure you have some type of plan for that. We didn’t need it. The cabin itself is beautifully built, truly rustic. The porch and hot tub are amazing. The deck down by the river has some steep steps to climb but we still thought it was awesome to be able to listen to the river and watch for wildlife. The place is so far tucked away into farmland and down a private road you’d never know how close you are to 340 or Luray, but you can get there in 10 mins. Great privacy and peace of mind. All essential cookware included. Listening to the wilderness on the back porch, and the well maintained hot tub were our favorite parts. We will be back one year in the summer to tube the river and in the winter for a colder experience to take more advantage of the hot tub. Definitely would not advise a winter trip without AWD. Overall, this place is awesome and perfect for us.
