Good location, in the woods but only 15-20 minutes from Houghton. Reasonably well stocked with kitchen requirements, though some pots and pans deserve replacement. We enjoyed the fact that there were several recliner chairs.
Great home base for us to explore the U P. Very dog friendly. He loved the trailsCommunication was difficult, but only because our phones did not work well in the area.
Very nice place to stay. Far enough away from town to be peaceful. Yet I only a few minutes from town. Nice to be able to let the dog out and not be on a leash. Would highly recommend.

Thanks for your kind words, and glad you enjoyed our Log Cab-Inn. The good part is there's 4 seasons to enjoy our area.
This log cabin with vaulted ceilings and upper loft for sleeping and historical outdoor hunting lure and taxidermied specimens offered the perfect connection with the quiet rural north wood atmosphere of the Copper Penninsula surrounding. While being distant from the Houghton city atmosphere, it allowed close access to this historic town within minutes; along with most of my favorite atractions west of town including Covered Road, the Freda historic smelt factory site, Redridge dams, etc. I will return!
A perfect place to spend a quality vacation! Remote enough to enjoy outdoors time while close enough to town to have access to shopping and dining options. We were able to go on great hikes in the area during the day and relax in comfort at this cozy cabin at night. Definitely a great stay :)
We loved our stay in the woods! The location was perfect to explore the Keweenaw Peninsula, and the cabin was private and cozy to come back home to. The cabin decor was fun and unique, it had lots of charm and characteristics, and everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

Glad to hear you enjoyed our area and our cozy Cabinn.
The Cabinn was a 5-year project with our family. Started out looking at many log home magazines and taking many ideas and crunching them to size to fit into a cabin. All the red pine logs come from our property.
A beautiful rustic cabin that was exactly what I was looking for. Close to the trail system and not too far from town. A great experience. Thanks, Barry
