About this property

Serenity House on Lake Catherine with Private Boat/Swim Dock

A newly remodeled, 1300 square foot house located in a quiet cove on beautiful Lake Catherine. Wildlife abounds with deer, fox, cranes, geese and ducks. The 'Asian' style vacation home has a 30 foot vault ceiling with skylight at the top.

The loft overlooking the main living area provides extra twin sleeping beds, living and dining space. Both bedrooms are tastefully furnished with queen beds. The washer/dryer and kitchen appliances are all new. A private fishing/swimming/boat dock is available for lake recreational activities. Serenity House is located in a quiet gated community with access to golf, tennis and basketball courts, playground, swimming pool (available in the summer months), marina, and hiking and horseback riding at Lake Catherine State Park.

We are pet friendly, (2 dogs maximum) but approval is needed before acceptance. Dogs must be kenneled when unattended with a 4 foot kennel and pad provided if needed. Our house can only accommodate six guests.

This was a very clean property, we enjoyed the quiet , and the bath row house was great to walk, we took a fishing charter and caught the limit on hybrid bass, overall a great experience.

Wonderful stay

Well-equipped kitchen a big plus since we did lots of cooking! We particularly loved the spacious back porch overlooking the lake. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Wonderful property!

Once again we had an awesome stay at Serenity House...the owners always have everything perfect and ready for your arrival and are just next door should you need anything. This is always our first choice when staying in Hot Springs!

Weekend Getaway

We were in town for a couple of days to attend an event. This was a great place to stay, especially if you want to be in a quiet place with a great view of the lake. It was an ideal place to bring our dogs and just relax. The owners were great and went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed. This is definitely on our list of places we’d want to stay at again. Highly recommend!

Love this Place!

This was a lovely, well stocked house. We had everything we needed to enjoy a nice, relaxing vacation. The private cove this house is set on is perfect for relaxing floats on the water-which is where I spent most of my time while the rest of the family played in the community pool. We will definitely visit again!

Home Away from Home

This was our third time at Serenity House. It’s such a pleasant place that we keep returning. Teresa (Host) greeted us on arrival and made us feel like her personal guests. We had our miniature poodle with us, and Abbi even enjoyed the change of peace at Serenity House. The house is beautifully located and well equipped.

Felt like home

This home is so lovely and right on the lake. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated and the home is very comfortable and clean. Everything was provided and well organized. It’s a wonderful place to relax.

The pictures online don’t capture the full charm of this house. It was a lovely surprise to arrive and explore the house and surrounding area. A peaceful and beautiful place for a family getaway. The house was fully stocked and we had no issues. Great location to explore the surrounding parks and lakes.

Cozy Cabin

We had an amazing 4 days at the cabin. The house was just perfect for the 6 of us. There were no issues that we needed assistance for and the peace and quiet of the neighborhood was absolutely perfect! Being on the lake was nice to just sit out by the water. We never turned the TV on once!

Lovely Oasis

One of the best VRBO's we've stayed in. Well-equipped kitchen, spotless refrigerator, ice maker and lots of small appliances. Nice dining area, bedrooms and deck. It was very quiet with some good birding! Easy drive to Hot Springs and Lake Catherine State Park. For those of us vertically challenged to reach the high upper cabinets in the kitchen, there is a step stool in a bedroom closet. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Steve and Teresa!

Great rental

We had a fantastic time at the Serenity House. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed grilling out, sitting on the deck and the dock. Our 2 furry friends enjoyed it too, thanks for letting us bring them. We like to take them with us everywhere so we always look for VRBO's that allow pets. Thank you Teresa for making my 55th birthday weekend a great one!

Great Access!

My family of 6 grown ups and one dog fit very comfortably in this very clean and well appointed vacation home. We were within 20 minutes of town, shopping and most activities, and best of all, not 5 minutes from Lake Catherine (where you can rent boats, pontoon barges, etc for great prices!). My kids even thought about playing golf on the community's beautiful course, and the guys at the shop were very accommodating and helpful! We opted for disc golf instead in a nearby park and had a blast! Highly recommend this family to families of all ages!

Enjoyable Stay at Serenity House

My family had a wonderful stay at Serenity House. Communication was simple and easy, check-in was smooth, and we had everything we needed to enjoy our accommodations. The location close to Lake Catherine State Park was perfect as we spent some of our time hiking the trails and boating on the lake - I definitely recommend renting a boat at the marina! It was also a wonderful perk that we were allowed to bring our two beagles with us. Note that this is a golf course neighborhood and homes are really close to each other - so while the view of the lake is beautiful and relaxing, it's not completely private or isolated. However, the owners are next door and it's nice to know they are there to offer assistance if needed. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Week-end at Lake

There were no issues with check in, Teresa or the house. We were expecting more of a lake experience. The property is on a cove and to get to actual lake area was about a couple of football field swims away. We had a 10 year old that was about waste deep in the water at the property. It is very shady with a lot of trees in backyard that obscures the view. For a group of adults looking for peace and quiet and not children looking for a lake(swim) experience it would be great. I should have asked more questions. But Teresa and the house were fine. Enjoyed the bottle of wine she had provided. Any grocery store is about 25 to 30 minutes away. So come prepared with spices, sugar etc. if you plan to cook.

We love the quiet area of Diamondhead and the wonderful quirky and artsy town of Hot Springs and wanted to share the area with others. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world!

What makes this property unique

The quiet cove on Diamondhead provides a Serene atmosphere where cranes, geese, ducks, fox, and deer are ample. Swimming and fishing are sports that many participate in from the dock just steps from the house. Serenity House is located in Diamondhead Community where a swimming pool is available in the summer and golfing throughout the year. Diamondhead is centrally located just minutes from Hot Springs, Garvin Gardens and Malvern (I-30).
