House was perfect for our group. We had an issue w ants the first day, but owner was immediately responsive and had the solution resolved quickly.Lake Anna was is separated into public (cool) and private (warm) sides. This house is on the private side...the lake is really warm.

Always a great stay!!

This was our fourth stay at this property and we couldn’t be happier! The house is in a great location and the provided kayaks/canoes/paddleboards are very appreciated. The house is clean and well stocked, and the check in and check out processes are a breeze. The owner is very communicative and willing to help. We look forward to our trip to the lake every year and always book this house! Can’t wait to come back!

House size and layout worked well for a large group. Waterfront good for fishing, swimming, lounging, campfire, and launching water equipment on site. Yard space for outdoor games too. Plenty of parking. Overall, group was comfortable and enjoyed week. Property is not well kept though. Needs some TLC. Many deferred maintenance issues and lack of cleanliness in some areas. For example, sewer smell below deck; hot tub unusable; sliding doors difficult to use; broken items like a shower head, kitchen sprayer, windows, broiler, kitchen fan; garage fridge too dirty to use; the kitchen drawers/cupboards dirty and unorganized. Rental cost too high for condition of house. Provided host with feedback - no reply.

The area was beautiful. House is semi secluded and on the private side of Lake Anna. Weather was perfect during our stay. The check-in was a breeze. Unfortunately, when paying this price for a rental, I would think some effort would be put into some small details with big pay-off. The cleanliness of the home was sub-par overall. The floors and counters were clean. But there are dirty finger prints and cobwebs all over. The frying pans are unusable and I had to have my daughter bring our set from home. I saw some other reviews about a lack of forks and the owner responded saying there were plenty. I think what’s forgotten is if the home is meant to service up to 16 people, you need to account for a little extra. Forks, for example, are also used to prepare food. There is also a charcoal grill, but it’s one of those very small ones that you’d find at a community apartment. Not even close to big enough for cooking for a large group of people. We had to have our son who lives locally, bring his grill over. There was so much dust on the living room fan I wouldn’t have felt comfortable turning it on for fear of spreading all that dust around, not to mention the significant cobwebs surrounding the pull chain from it. Lot’s of cobwebs in the kitchen as well. The patio doors appear to have never been cleaned out and looks like mold is building up in it. I did appreciate the linen service and having clean sheets folded in a bag waiting for us to place on the bed. Very nice touch.

Master bath appears to have had some mold. Never repainted.

Pans have coating flaking. Nearly all of them.

Long weekend at the lake

We enjoyed the fire pit and water toys. The kitchen was a bit lacking and living room furniture a little worn. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable.

Relaxing Vacation

We have stayed 4 years in a row and already booked our 5th for next year. The backyard is beautiful! No better place to kayak and paddleboard. The new firepit is awesome! The inside is spacious. The owner is very responsive. Look forward to coming back every year.

Excellent rental

The house and location on the lake were perfect for a quiet getaway. The house had lots of space and sleeping options which made it easy to accommodate multiple families. The house was very clean and had just about everything we needed. The power in the neighborhood went out our first evening, and the owner was on top of keeping us updated until the power was restored a couple of hours later. Would highly recommend!

Excellent Experience!

I rented this location for my family during spring break for my children. It did not disappoint. Very large house on about 3 acres of property, lakefront with pier and two small sand beaches. My kids had an absolute blast playing in the water, catching fish and turtles. It is nice and secluded so we were able to enjoy ourselves without distraction. I would absolutely stay here again given the opportunity.

Location,location,location

Located on a very quiet and secluded inlet with almost no boat activity. The dock was perfect for sunbathing, fishing and relaxing while watching the eagles, heron, osprey, deer and fish jumping from the smooth glass like water surface. We enjoyed the use of the canoe,kayaks and paddle boards so graciously provided by our host. The house was large enough to accommodate our family of eleven adults. We appreciated the extra refrigerator in the garage and we were pleasantly surprised that the linens and towels were not only furnished but of fine quality. It was also very easy to communicate with our host with any questions we had.

Best Vacation House

**Review for Lake Anna Vacation House** I recently had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful vacation house in Lake Anna, VA, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Great rental on the Lake

We were grateful to have secured this property for a last minute getaway with our pup. The furniture was new and nice and the home itself had a lot of space. We agree with other reviewers, the bathrooms could use some TLC and it was odd to have to make our own bed upon arrival. The outdoor space was very nice and we enjoyed use of the kayaks in the mornings. Our only wish was that side of the lake was a bit more private as boats from other areas seem to like to gather near the "off shoots" next to the home making it quite noisy, especially on Saturday.

Beautiful lake, outdated house

Pros - lake view, kayaks Cons - dirty carpets and rugs (smelled of urine); absolutely no internet or WiFi as promised; no phone and no cell service; everything is old - cabinets falling apart, sliding doors won’t open/close, deck peeling; SUP broken - foam inside showing and no fin The owner was responsive but unable to solve any problems outside of the linens service being an hour late on check in. Definitely in need of some serious remodeling.

This house was sizable and accommodated our family group. The location was on one end of the lake which was within view of hwy bridge which was audible from the shore.Lovely views of the water from the deck and fire pit near the water was nice. There was a lot of DIY involved in this trip, clean linens were supplied but you are responsible for making beds, which I've never experienced before. There were a good amount of cooking items though some seemed like they hadn't been cleaned in a long while. The clean up at the end of the visit involved stripping beds, loading trash, bagging towels and running dishwasher. Paddle boards were missing fins and were falling apart. Overall a good visit, but wish I'd known some of this stuff up front

Wonderful Time

We had a wonderful time staying at this vacation home. The house has everything that you will need. We would definitely come back. My only issue is the BBQ Grill. With the price to rent this house, it would be nice to have a gas grill. We could not use the canoe because the seat was broken

Great waterfront spot

We had a great stay at this home in Bumpass. It's spacious and the backyard lent itself very well to outdoor play and relaxation. We especially liked being on the warm side of the lake that allowed for swimming, kayaking, and boating in April (not usually possible or fun on the cold side this time of year). It was quiet and peaceful all week and immediate area of the lake offered great fishing! Kitchen is pretty well equipped for a large family like ours except that we ran out of silverware, so plan to do some by dishes mid day if you are eating all meals at home like we did! The place was generally clean when we got in but we did need to do some touch ups in the bathrooms (perhaps we're picky?) and we did find a dead bait fish on the garage floor, which was overall sticky. Neither of those things would keep us from booking again, though! Also, if you are planning to bring a boat, note that the dock is a little tall for easy boarding on bass/fishing boats, but would probably be a very easy step onto a pontoon.

Relaxing and spacious

We enjoyed our long weekend! The house is spacious and well stocked. Plenty of dishes and silverware for the 8 of us. There is some wear and tear noticed, but everything was clean and comfortable. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the deck, the dock, and the fire ring. The kayaks and paddle boards were a highlight. The dogs enjoyed the big front and back yards. It is a beautiful and quiet location. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing !!!! Best Lake house so far !

This was our pre-Valentine's Day retreat, and it was an absolute dream experience. The property is nestled along a breathtaking private waterfront, and the interior was more spacious than we had imagined. The house was clean with normal wear and tear, but the furnishings and tasteful decor made us feel right at home. This house provided us with a perfect sanctuary for our getaway, with an abundance of amenities, from the expansive deck overlooking the serene waters to kayaks and canoes, and the fire pit overlooking the water where the kids enjoyed roasting s'mores, ensuring there was never a dull moment.
