We had a wonderful time during our stay! The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare all meals in the home. The back yard was beautiful! There were rafts, noodles, and sand toys galore. The new hot tub was fantastic as well. The owner was very responsive with any questions we had during our stay. I would highly recommended this property to other families looking to travel to Lake Anna.

Great Location and rich amenities!

This house is well maintained and has kids toys on the beach and kayak/SUP board which is really great and handy! The firepit is also great for an evening marshmallow gathering! Would love to come back again!

Heron’s cove is a very attractive cabin. Our family of 10 appreciated the five bedrooms and bathrooms—and two refrigerators, along with the well stocked kitchen. The owner was wonderful to work with.

From the captivating scenery to the roominess of this house we loved our stay and will continue to vacation here at Heron's Cove. Plenty of room and very nice amenities ( kayaks, paddle boards, fishing, private beach and boat dock) with 10 of us here we never once felt crowded or in one another's space.

Beautiful property!

We had a wonderful time at the lake house! There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space to go and plenty of room for all of us to be together. The views of the lake from the living room, kitchen sink and deck were so relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed having our morning coffee on the deck every day.

Great experience for NYE on Lake Anna!

Great experience all around. Leading-up to our stay, the property manager was very responsive. Listing and pictures are completely accurate about the space—very clean, individual bathrooms, and plenty of space. Very pleased and great experience with 10 adults and 2 infants.

Absolutely Wonderful

We absolutely loved our weekend spent at Heron's Cove. The house was perfect for our needs and absolutely beautiful. It was great that the host provided kayaks and paddle boards and the wonderful fire pit. We all had our own bedroom and bathroom. Highly highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful fall weekend

This is my second time booking Heron's Cove for a friends and family weekend and it was just as wonderful as the first time! This house has everything you need and the space is used so well. We spend most of the weekend outside using the firepit and FIVE paddleboards!! It is family friendly, our kids had a blast and Kathy is so great to work with, we can't wait for our next weekend at Heron's Cove!

Amazing house!! We were looking for a weekend getaway and we came across this beautiful house and I am so happy we did! The house was beautiful and owners are great!! Super friendly and accommodating. All of my friends were blown away by house and the views of the house. Can't say enough about how great everything was. Will definitely be back!!!

Wonderful Lakeside Cabin

The entire trip was wonderful. The cabin was near enough to grocery store and restaurants to keep the trip relaxed and enjoyable, but far enough out that we had no trouble enjoying the Virginia countryside in peace. The private dock, along with the provided kayaks and paddleboards provided a great Saturday afternoon, and the well equipped kitchen helped us enjoy the parts of the weekend that were a bit rainier. Plenty of bedrooms, so no one felt crowded, and plenty of bathrooms so no waiting for a hot shower. Can't recommend enough!

Beautiful Secluded Lake House

I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with a group of friends over Columbus Day weekend. Even though it rained throughout most of our trip, there was still plenty to do at the house. There is plenty of sleeping and lounge space for a big group. The house has lake access and a dock, which makes it a perfect place to enjoy the water during nicer weather. Overall we had a great time and I would definitely recommend it for a large group of people.

Beautiful lakefront cabin!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here for our anniversary! While we just stuck to the main floor the house has a gorgeous master suite, great room with view of the lake and spacious kitchen we enjoyed hanging out in. Also enjoyed morning and evening kayaking with the on-site boats. :) The house was spotless and check-in and -out was a breeze. I'm sure this property is great for groups but we also enjoyed just the two of us! (P.S. if you're planning to cook for a lot of people the kitchen is VERY well appointed for a rental - I think I saw crock pots, lots of other appliances and casserole dishes, etc.!)

A little piece of Heaven not too far from home.

We had a great time over the Spring break with the extended family. The cabin is large, well laid out and bright. The bright open layout of the common rooms made everything about the place better. It is well furnished and well stocked with everything we needed for 8 adults and 5 children. The water sports equipment are great and we were blessed with good weather so that the kids were up and out on the paddle boards and the kayaks most days. We had absolutely no complaints and Kathy was very open and responsive to a few minor suggestions that we made. Nothing but thumps up from our family.

It's a peaceful, unspoiled haven surrounded by nature, far from the crowds that often overrun other lakes. We hope you’ll experience the same serenity and enjoyment during your stay.

Why they chose this property

Last year, our family embarked on a search for the perfect lake home, and we had a clear vision in mind. We love everything about the lake—boating, swimming, and, of course, log houses—so finding a place that combined all of these was our goal. We dreamed of having our own boathouse to avoid the hassle of using public boat ramps and loading the boat onto a trailer every time.

After looking at many properties, we finally found the one—a stunning log home on an ideal piece of lakefront land. It wasn't easy to find, as we had specific requirements: a sandy, gently sloping swim area for the kids, a deep-water dock and boathouse for easy boat access, and a gorgeous view of the lake from the house so we could watch all the fun on the water. Capturing those moments from the comfort of our home was important to us.

The moment we stepped into the backyard, with its breathtaking lake view and the beautiful log house standing behind us, we knew we had found something special. The house itself checked all our boxes: five spacious bedrooms and five bathrooms, ensuring everyone had their own space. The blend of rustic charm and refined comfort made it the perfect fit for our family. We couldn't be more thrilled to call this place home!

Both Rustic and Refined describes our beautiful log home. The wall of windows in the great room allow anyone who hasn't gone out in the boat to have a panoramic scenic view of the lake and family enjoying it. The sunset is lovely from this location. Our home has all the necessary amenities to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is warm, inviting, solid and certainly more sustainable than conventional housing on the lake. If it could talk, each log would have a story to tell and it would be delighted to welcome you in.
