THE VILLA INSIDE & OUTSIDE
Contemporary villa in Upper Podgora Old Village, surrounded by olive trees, beautiful lawn and Mediterranean vegetation - lavender, rosemary, immortelle. Outdoor lounge and heated swimming pool are situated in backyard overlooking the area, thus keeping intimacy.
The villa consists of 2 individual units/apartments connected with outside stairs but it is rented only as one property offering thus complete privacy. Each unit consists of 2 bedrooms (accommodating 3 persons per unit), bathroom, fully equiped kitchen, dining and living room, and spacious balcony. Free Wi-Fi, closed garage and 2 parking places included. Outdoor amusement for kids is also provided. And your pet will enjoy, too!

LOCATION
Podgora is a well-know fishermen village with only 2.500 inhabitants but showing important historical, cultural and natural heritage: beautiful catholic church 250 years old, school 200 years old, foundation of Navy in 1942. It is located at walking distance to Biokovo Nature Park and its amazing botanical gardens and cultural heritage, offering stunning views to the islands and being a hideaway for a relaxing family retreat. The best Adriatic white pebble beaches and crystal blue sea water are just 5 minutes drive but you can also remain at your private and heated pool enjoying the breeze and overlooking the waves. If coming off season, do not miss Biokovo trekking trails but beware if wanting to climb to Saint Jure at 1.762 m hight. But if coming late summer, enjoy picking figs for your breakfast. Throughout all seasons, fresh mountain air and fragrances of Mediterranean gardens will awake your senses.

Great villa with wonderful views

We had a great holiday and made to feel very welcome and comfortable by Leila and Gaby. The villa was well equipped with a lovely pool. Villa and pool were extremely clean. We look forward to going back!

Nice location but not a serious hirer (owner) - not to be recommended!

The location pretty nice, picture shows well the house but be aware of: there are to apartments but the same size. Apartment on the second floor smaller (about 30% less space). Hirer not a serious person - after our stay he found some extra damages, which we were not responsible for and not really happened. Unfortunately there were no check in / out protocol, although the person the gave us the keys confirmed everything was ok by giving back the keys. At the end we have been claimed for issues that are not the truth. Be aware of this and insist on signed protocol after checkout !!! We do not recommend this offer.

Excellent place for a family to spend vacation

A very nice place to stay for vacation. It was very clean. The property is split in two, one apartment with 2 bedrooms on each floor so fit for two small families. Ground level has an indoor garage but we always parked outside in the small yard, no need to put the car in. Both apartments have an open-door kitchen fully equipped so you can choose to prepare your own food. Both apartments have a terrace where you can have breakfast or lunch facing the sea. In the afternoon it can be a little hot as it is facing towards west. But there is a retractable pergola that can help (we never used it). The pool is wonderful. It is heated (though the water temperature varied while we were there between 26 and 29 degrees). Both adults and kids loved it, it was wonderful to play in it all day long. There is a person checking and cleaning it every couple of days so it was simply excellent. To be just perfect maybe it would have been good to have a bigger bath (though the one upstairs it was bigger compared with the one in our apartment). And to be closer to the sea. If you are with small children and looking for going to the see you need to go by car every day - this causes a small issue as parking places close to the beach are limited. There are about 4-5 km down to reach the sea. And down is easy, back it would be a not so nice one hour (at least) walk in open sun. For us though it was not a problem as our goal was to stay close to the pool most of the time. The support from hosts was excellent. The owner sister waited for us until late in the evening when we arrived and showed us everything. Starting the second day we had the support from the nice Gabriela, the concierge, who checked that we had everything and helped us whenever we needed something. Last but not least, if you plan a trip to Biokovo skywalk the location is very close, just 5 km up from the villa. Overall, I am rating this place with 5-starts. It was more than we expected for our vacation.

Lovely apartments

The apartments were great, really well set up with a lovely terrace and pool. Our host Gabriela was super helpful but never too intrusive and Podgora is a lovely, friendly seaside town with plenty of good beachside bars and restaurants.

Just perfect!

Our first holiday in Croatia but definitely not our last. I can’t recommend this property and location highly enough. We were looked after from the get go by lovely Gabi who ensured we wanted for nothing. Great communication but not intrusive which was important to us. The property was spotless and extremely comfortable. Lovely pool and Podgora is a vibrant, safe and extremely friendly village with an infectious buzz. Finally, THOSE VIEWS! I’m missing them already! Thank you Ivan and Gabi for a perfect holiday. 😊

Vom schönen Ort Podgora erreicht man die Villa Dalma über eine steile Serpentinenstraße in etwa 5 Minuten. Der Aufstieg wird mit einem grandiosen Blick über die Küste, das Meer und die Berglandschaft belohnt. Parkplätze und sogar eine Garage sind auf dem Grundstück vorhanden. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld und der Empfang vor Ort verliefen professionell und herzlich zugleich. Es war toll, immer einen Ansprechpartner zu haben. Vielen Dank für die tollen Gastgeschenke und den Gutschein für das Restaurant Roko! Die Villa, der Pool und der Garten befanden sich in einem einwandfreien Zustand! Die Einrichtung der Apartments ist nahezu neuwertig und vor allem vollständig. Alle technischen und elektrischen Anlagen funktionierten einfach und problemlos. Genügend Spielzeug und sogar Sonnenschirme für den Strandbesuch fanden sich in der Garage! Wir haben nichts vermisst. Da wir mit unseren zwei Kindern und Eltern unterwegs waren, ist die Aufteilung in zwei getrennte Apartments ideal. Der Pool war dank der regelmäßigen Pflege jederzeit in einem perfekten Zustand. Für Reisende mit kleinen Kindern ist es wichtig zu wissen, dass nach Treppe direkt die Maximaltiefe von ca. 1,50m erreicht wird. Es gibt also keinen "Nichtschwimmerbereich" für kleinere Kinder. Für unsere 9 jährige Tochter war das allerdings kein Problem. Im Garten haben wir dank des professionellen Kugelgrills wunderschöne Grill-Abende verbracht. Die Villa Dalma hat uns die perfekten Rahmenbedingungen für einen wunderschönen Urlaub in Kroatien geboten! Da blieben keine Wünsche offen.

Fantastic Holiday in Podgora!

We have just stayed here for a week - myself and my husband, our 2 year old son and my parents. The house is absolutely stunning in every way. Everything inside is pretty much brand new, and the owner has thought of absolutely everything in terms of what is there. All the beds are incredibly comfy, all the rooms have blackout shutters with mosquito nets, both apartments have excellent air-con and the kitchens have every possible utensil you could think of. The pool is fabulous, and there are several pool toys/lilos etc downstairs in the garage for you to use. Our favourite thing was to sit out on one of the two balconies in the evening - the view across the water to Hvar is just stunning. The villa is set in the small village of Old Podgora up on the hill behind Podgora itself, and the surroundings are beautiful. It is very quiet - no traffic noise or anything else. Our concierge Gabriela was always available by text/whatsapp to answer any questions we had and to assist with restaurant bookings/excursions etc. Podgora is a great location from which to explore the area - Makarska is a 10/15 minute drive north, and there are several beautiful fishing villages all along the coast in both directions with lovely beaches. We liked the fact the apartment is divided in to 2 separate (almost identical) apartments - my parents stayed upstairs while we were downstairs. This way we had privacy when we wanted it but were still able to get together at the pool and on the balcony in the evenings. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - the service is absolutely excellent and the villa is pristine, and the view just tops it all off perfectly. Ideal for families or two or three couples.

Wonderful place!

Stayed for 6 nights with my husband, 2 kids, my sister and her husband. The apartment was perfect for us as it split into two self contained areas which was great so we had our own space. The larger apartment was perfect to fit us all in for meals on the balacony or in the outdoor BBQ area. The pool was perfect and had chairs and umbrella which was needed for the sun! The apartment had all the bits and pieces needed to make it comfortable and of course air-con! Podgora is a lovely little town with lots of restaurants and bars. It's a real mix of ethnicities and thank god, no hen/stag parties in sight so it was great for our kids aged 10 and 12. We had a day trip to Bosnia, spent a couple of days as the beach and at the house. Would recommend everything about this property and podgora. The hosts were so helpful to book a cruise to Hvar and organise taxis too. Could not fault anything about this visit.

Fabulous holiday

We had a wonderful holiday thanks to Leila and Gaby. The villa is well located on the Dalmatian Rivièra, high on the mountain with a fabulous view and away from the crowd. It takes only a couple of minutes to go to the center of Podgora and the restaurants. Thanks to Leila we had a voucher in a very nice restaurant, on the seashore. The villa has everything one can need, airco included. Our first time in Croatia, we were sightseeing a lot. We went to Drubnovic and Split and Sibenik. We went to Krka and Biokovo. Last but not least, we spend a whole day on a speedboat and went snorkling in Vis, visiting Hvar. This is so far the best holiday we spent. The warmth of of our host made it an unforgettable experience. We definitively will come back

Wunderschöne Villa mit Meer-und Bergblick und Pool

Viele Jahre fahren wir schon nach Kroatien jetzt haben wir das perfekte Feriendomizil für uns gefunden.Hier stimmt einfach alles das Haus , der Pool, der Meer-bzw.Bergblick die ganze Anlage.Im Haus war alles vorhanden es fehlte an nichts. Die ganze Anlage sowie die Wohnungen sind mit Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet.Wir waren mit 2 Hunden vor Ort und es war einfach perfekt.Wer absolute Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig.In ca.5 min.mit dem Auto ist man am Meer und im Zentrum wo man alles geboten bekommt (Gastronomie,Bootsverleih,Geschäfte uvm).Wir wurden durch die Vermieterin persönlich und sehr herzlich empfangen.Leckere Gastgeschenke und grandiose Gutscheine wurden uns geboten.Liebe Leila nochmal vielen , vielen Dank.Beruhigend war es auch einen Ansprechpartner vor Ort zu haben,der zu jeder Zeit bei jedem Problem oder Fragen sofort zur Seite stand. Vielen ,vielen Dank Gabriela. Es war ein unvergesslicher Urlaub mit vielen tollen Erlebnissen und netten Menschen die wir kennenlernten . Vielen Dank ! P.S. Danke an den Poolmann der uns bei dem großen Problem als unsere Auto nicht mehr ging sofort geholfen hat. Wir kommen nächstes Jahr sehr gerne wieder! Liebe Grüße!

Beautiful villa with see view.

Many thanks to Leila and her Family for letting us stay at their wonderful villa. With kids 3, 7 and 10 years old the villa was perfect for our needs, with the option of relaxing in the garden around the private pool, or at the local beach which our kids absolutely loved. The villa and the pool were clean and well maintained twice a week and we had no problems finding anything we needed. There was plenty of space within the villa for all of us to have time to do things we wanted. Leilas support was outstanding. At arrival we found a fruit basket in the living room, she invites us for three times to restaurants at Podgora and she even hired a speedboat for us to look around the islands for a day – all inclusive. The beach or the city of Podgora was a five minute drive by car. Podgora is a quiet village with anything we looked for. However there is a lot beyond just going to the beach. As an example the elder kids enjoyed the diving training in the local diving school. The trainers at the diving school were so brilliantly accommodating and made this adventure even possible for the youngest diver they ever had. Having stayed here for a nearly three weeks with my family, I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to go for relaxing to a peaceful location in Dalmatia. Our stay was everything we had hoped for and we would certainly all stay there again.

A nice villa with a beautiful view on the sea

Two appartments with a very beautiful view on the sea. We enjoy to have our breakfast on the terrace. The swimming pool is large and very pleasant. The villa is very well located The owner is really very friendly and we have been very well welcomed.

Beautiful villa, pool, Makarska riviera

Villa is idealy placed just 1km from the most beautiful beaches in Croatia - Makarska riviera is a great choice for holidays. Close to Split (1 hour drive) and not far from Dubrovnik (2 hour drive). Makarska riviera is busy in summer, but you do have great pool, barbecue and terrace with the view if you want to rest on your own. And not to forget - the best experience was a surprise gift from the owner of Villa Dalma – boat trip to the island of Hvar. Visiting Jelsa and Starigrad in speedboat with skipper who was a perfect tourist guide. View on the Makarska riviera from the sea side is something you sure don't want to miss. Thanks again and see you again next year!

Great location with the new pool built last year

Villa Dalma in Podgora is a great place for family holiday – it makes you remember the Mediterranean as it once was... small village, clear blue seawater and friendly local people. We stayed two times at this well hidden retreat in old Podgora village. The views and sunset from the terraces are just amazing, the air is fresh even in hot summer nights and the neighborhood is totally peaceful. Having the swimming pool built last year, we almost didn't leave the house during our holiday, however we will come back again this summer!
