About this property

Best Lincoln Square Location - Spacious 2 bedroom

Charming apartment in an updated 1800s beautiful brick building. Located in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood. 2 blocks from the El train. Walk to movies, restaurants, bars, and parks. Lovely quiet, and upscale family neighborhood with beautiful homes all around. Bike to the beach and downtown. Conveniently located within a 20-minute train ride or drive to most local universities. 2 blocks from the Old Town School of Folk Music. Inquire about our Cubs Season Tickets!

The Wilson Manor apartment is approximately 1400 square feet, flooded with natural light, high ceilings, and hardwood floors. The lovely front porch is perfect for people-watching. The interior is spacious and comfortable for lounging and relaxation. We have done our best to make this property a "show up and enjoy" space with all the comforts of home.

Please note this is smoke-free property. Guests are asked to refrain from smoking or any type, vaping, etc inside or on the grounds of the property as buildings are in close proximity and this impacts our neighbors and tenants.

The space offers a separate living room and formal dining room. The dining room includes a baby grand piano, which guests who play are welcome to use. The eat-in kitchen has a table for four, plenty of counter space for cooking and meal prep, and stainless appliances. The kitchen is fully stocked for meal preparation, including cooking basics and a full assortment of gourmet spices.

Adjacent to the kitchen and separated by sliding doors is the second bedroom which includes a queen-sized bed and a set of bunk beds.

Please note that we decorate for seasonal holidays. If holiday decorations present any allergy issues, please let us know in advance.

We hope you'll visit our Pizza Restaurant for the best thin-crust pizza around (Borelli's Pizza) up the street at 2124 W Lawrence. Inquire with us about special events and live music that might be happening during your visit.

Guests should be aware that we live on-site. We strictly enforce guest counts and no parties for the health and safety of all.

Family and Friends Neighborhood Reunion
Fantastic stay at the Wilson Manor! My family grew up in Ravenswood and we left 50 years ago. The siblings have not been together for about 20 years. This was the place to connect. All of us could not have been happier with our experience. The hosts were simply awesome and always communicative. Easy check in and check out. We had everything we needed in the home. Comfortable and quiet and clean. The property was everything we wished for from walking distances and area. Driving distances was great to downtown Chicago and all the attractions that you would come to see in Chicago. So many great restaurant suggestions from the hosts and our only wish is that we could have stayed longer to do it all. We will definitely stay here again. We already are planning our next get together at the Wilson Manor. A huge thanks to the host and Wilson Manor. See you again.

We are welll known in Lincoln Square having lived and been very actively involve here for nearly 30 years. Both small business owners, we are natural hosts and community builders. We truly enjoy engaging with people and enriching the lives of others. Extending our interests to short-term vacation rentals is a natural for us. We do our best to create a memorable experience for guests in our space. We respect our guests wishes for privacy, but also welcome interaction for any guests who are interested.

Why they chose this property

We have lived in Chicago's Lincoln Square neighborhood since 1998 and believe it's Chicago's best-kept secret. With large homes, wider streets, and a safe, family atmosphere, you'll feel less crowded than in other parts of the city. Lincoln Avenue runs through Lincoln Square and is two blocks away, offering every type of dining you could wish for, bars and pubs, a movie theater, a small music venue, boutique shopping, and more.

Several local breweries are within walking distance, including Begyle, Dovetail, Forbidden Root, and the Koval Distillery.

If you feel you must venture out of the neighborhood (which we rarely do :), the El train brown line is a short 5-minute walk, but isn't close enough to be heard from the property. The train can get you anywhere you want to go in the city.

What makes this property unique

Our building was built in the late 1800's as one of the first two in this area. It has been owned by several families over the years before it became ours. Initially, it housed both our family and our music school with teaching studios scattered throughout the floors. Our children grew up here with music always in the hous, bumping into students and parents around the corners. As our children grew and wanted the space to just our family, we relocated the music school to the second floor of what is now also our pizzeria space three blocks away. When the kids left for college, we didn't need all of this space so we opened the first floor to guests in 2018. We have been blessed with visitors from all over the world, many of whom return to use for multiple visits.

The space we are offering you is a home. We have worked very hard to avoid the sterile feeling of most short-term stay properties. We have given thought to what you mind need when traveling and tried to provide it all: from ample hangers, an iron (and spray start), to extra blankets, fans for those who enjoy white noise, cooking essentials and more.

Our reading collection is, well, extensive. Everything from children's books, romance novels and page turners to history books. We also offer an assortment of games for family entertainment.

We decorate for every season and holiday so each time you visit, the space may have a different feel, but is always clean, uncluttered, spacious and inviting.
