Resort is great…Condo is awful!
I take my children and grandchildren to PCB every year…It’s my gift to them. We stayed at Splash last year and the kids loved it and wanted to return this year. I’ve never booked through VRBO, was hesitant but the pictures of Unit 1701E looked great. Apparently these were taken awhile back. The floors in the living room were bucked up, the wooden reducer strip between the tile and hardwood didn’t even touch the floor. It was like walking on a trampoline. The kitchen was inadequately stocked for a unit that sleeps 11 people. It had 1 cereal bowl and 2 spoons. I went and bought 8 stainless spoons and just left them there. The TV’s in the bedrooms didn’t work and we didn’t have a remote for the tv in the living room. We called and they quickly brought a remote up for it. ( the maintenance men stepped on the bucked up floors and said whoa!) The shower in one of the master baths did not work and the sink was stopped up. Maintenance came up and said they would have to order a new faucet needless to say we were never able to use that shower or sink. Keep in mind, we were there 7 days with 10 people, so bath time was a little hectic with only 2 working bathrooms. The unit just didn’t meet my expectations at all. There wasn’t even a dust pan in the unit…I had to use a piece of notebook paper to sweep trash up on.
I was under the impression that the units that are in a rental program have certain standards that they have to maintain and apparently this isn’t the case. I guess paying a premium price I thought I would get a premium condo…but I was sadly mistaken. I will definitely do my homework the next time I rent and will definitely read the reviews of the past guest.
But on a brighter note…the beaches were beautiful and my babies loved the sun and sand!
