Lovely house. It has the best stocked kitchen of any rental i have ever stayed at. The owners were very thoughtful and we appreciated the sweet bread and coffee supplies.
We very much enjoyed our stay in Westport. The bedrooms were large and had a/c. The big kitchen and dining room had everything we needed, including a large table for family game night. The location was fantastic and close to everywhere we wanted to go.
This farmhouse was perfect for our trip back home. It was ideally located for the 3 family events we needed to attended locally and in RI. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and staples making it the perfect place to prepare the local foods we have missed since moving to FL. Owner checked in via text to ensure we were enjoying our stay. This home provided the comfy space we needed for our vacation.
We recently stayed at this amazing property for a family wedding. Everything was clean and well cared for. It's a very convenient location close to the beach. The beds are comfy, kitchen fully equipped and there's plenty of space to relax. Definitely a great find!

Thank you for your stay and for leaving the house in great condition! You are welcome back anytime.
Ellen was very friendly, welcoming and checked in several times by to text to see if we were doing well and if we needed anything! I loved her home, so inviting and the kitchen was well equipped and beds comfortable. AC in all rooms, so comfortable in the heat we had. The location was perfect, it was quiet but close to everything. Thank you Ellen and I loved the fern on the mantle and all your plants!
Beautifully renovated home that feels like home. Decor represents local artisans that are perfectly placed through the house. The rental had all the cooking and serving placements that we needed to entertain extended family members who live in the area. We loved our stay. Ellen was very attentive to any needs we had. We definitely will be back.

Thank you! We love supporting local artists - they are such treasures. Happy to host you again!
Lovely home...Ellen was very friendly and attentive to every need. Property is conveniently located. Plenty of towels, bedding, well stocked kitchen basics, washer/dryer. All we needed for our 4 week stay. Thanks again Ellen!
P.S. Beautiful houseplants!!!
The space was well-appointed, especially kitchen and laundry/mudroom. The separation made wfh possible for me and my partner. The several separate heating zones made comfort possible while saving energy, so that was nice. Overall a cozy and peaceful stay, with forays to Boston, New Bedford, and Providence for dinners. Highly recommend this home and host.
Ellen was especially responsive and helpful, checking in in non-intrusive ways that were actually super helpful.
1 surprise: the 2nd bathroom is the outdoor shower, which I'm guessing is more common to list in this area. Not a problem for two.
The photos of Ellen's house on the VRBO website look good but the home is so much better in person. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations. The home has a peaceful cozy cottage feel. It is spotless, spacious and extremely well appointed. The furniture is not only beautiful but it is actually comfortable. The kitchen is better stocked than any VRBO kitchen we have seen and it has everything anyone could need to cook and serve a nice meal. As nice as the kitchen was we barely used it because there are too many wonderful restaurants nearby to eat at home. We really enjoyed the view and food at The Back Eddy and we hope to go to the Westport Rivers Vineyard on our next visit to Westport. Ellen's home is close to everything there is to see on the scenic south coast of Massachusetts. We were there to visit family but because of the home's great location we were also able to squeeze in a little sightseeing and enjoy the area's beauty. Ellen was the perfect host and we look forward to renting her lovely home again on our next visit to the area.
This house was a great place to stay when visiting Westport! Ellen was a very communicative host and the house was spotless. It was warmly decorated and had everything you could need. Also in a great location. Would definitely stay there again when visiting!
Our family loved this house and location. So close to everything we wanted to see. Ellen was very helpful with suggestions and places to go. This was a perfect spot for our family of 8 (77 to 12 years old).
We all enjoyed this house and all the amazing places we could go from Westport.
What a beautiful rental! The house had a lot of great space with beautiful decor. So many thoughtful touches like plugs by the beds, nightlights to guide your way to the bathroom at night and a nicely stocked kitchen! We were less than 10 minutes from a town with everything you need (Target, restaurants, etc.) and close enough for a quick trip to the water with impressive views.
We were impressed by the amenities. Large closets, great wifi, reliable hot water, friendly hosts, what more could you ask for? We loved our stay!!
Ellen was beyond amazing as a host. We arrived really late (3am) and she was so kind to pickup some dinner for us and leave it as restaurants were closed that late. The place was fully equipped with everything and more. Location was perfect and we will be back for sure! Highly recommend!!!
A wonderful time, a wonderful house and a wonderful owner. Extremely helpful. Excellent appointments and resources.
I’d give the property a 12/10.
Rent this property…except when I want to!
Ellen’s home was perfect for our family. Older home charm with modern updates. The outdoor shower was a great bonus. The house was spacious, clean and provided my family exactly what we needed. The check in process was very smooth. Ellen is very prompt in her responses and was flexible with our demands. I would highly recommend this house.

About the host
Hosted by Ellen Wells
Having been raised on a farm just minutes from the coast, I longed to return to that farm-and-sea lifestyle after living in cities all my adult life. The Southcoast of Massachusetts/Rhode Island was the place that spoke to me most. It's a lifestyle—slow, relaxed, natural—that we feel will speak to you, too.
Why they chose this property
Land + Sea is an 1890s farm/village house on nearly 1/2 acre of land. The house was newly renovated prior to our purchase and has that old-time charm but with a modern feel, especially in the kitchen. The home has clean, simple lines and design style, which mirrors the architecture of the interior itself.
What makes this property unique
- Not too far off the major highways but far enough away not to have constant traffic. - An outdoor shower! - A lovely porch with nearby grill. - Play lawn games in the back yard.
