Peaceful Cozy Year-round family home on Lake Champlain! 30 minutes to Burlington
No matter the season, you will be as comfortable as you are at your own home, but you'll have the luxury of being steps away from Lake Champlain's refreshing water, beautiful sunsets, peaceful quiet, and Vermont's amazing change of seasons. Swim, float, fish (in all seasons), boat, indulge your sporty side, warm or cold weather, or just relax!
Spend your days on the lake with your water toys or on the expansive lawn with your yard games, take a beautiful walk around the island or on the lake when it freezes, or just sit back, relax, and enjoy the view! Whether it's the heat of summer, the crisp cool beauty of the fall, or the quiet, beauty of the winter with the occasional views of the Aurora borealis.
Bring your kayaks, or rent ours for a weekly fee.
Paddle in our rentable paddle boat. Bring your boat, with size restrictions from memorial day to Labor day, or rent one at the nearby marina! Bring your hiking boots, your snow-shoes, we even have a small hill for kids to enjoy sledding, With plenty of winter toys to use.

After a day of outdoor fun and sunshine, you'll find everything you need to prepare family meals in our fully-equipped kitchen and out on the deck with a gas grill. Enjoy family dinners on the large outside deck table where you can listen to the lake or the rustling of the leaves from our wonderful shade trees. Need a break from the sun, our large dining table inside will accommodate you also. End your fabulous days sitting around the large fire on our lakeside patio or inside with the warmth of a cozy wood fire while eating dinner in the warmth of our cozy home with a smart tv and plenty of games and puzzles to keep the winter chill outside..
When the fun of the day and the night air tucker you out, slip into our very comfortable beds. Our king and 1 queen bedroom have personalizing head and feet heights. Our other queen is a brand new mattress. The kids will love our twin beds with lighthouse décor. Two family rooms, one with a pull-out couch, can accommodate two separate movie nights.
This home has been a family home for 50 years and we cater to families and their time spent together. For this reason we do not rent our home unless an adult over 25 is on site at all times and signs the rental agreement. Thank you.
We clean and disinfect all surfaces after each rental with guidelines from VRBO.

About the host
Hosted by Melanie Hagedoorn

We are full time Jersey residents, but love our summers on Lake Champlain. We are two brothers, their wives and children. The brothers have been coming here for over 50 years. We also love seeing families like ours enjoy being together in our home. While we rent out our main home, we stay in our secondary structure we like to call, The Barn. This has allowed us the blessing of meeting renters and becoming friends. We have some great families who have been coming every year since we began renting.
Why they chose this property
Our family has enjoyed this beautiful, special spot on Lake Champlain for over 50 years. We are sure your family will love it too. Fun and sun during the day and peaceful beautiful sunsets at night. Spend your days reading, relaxing, playing in the water, boating or playing yard games. In the evening you can relax and view the sunset and then gather around the campfire for some s'mores and laughter. "The Gut" is the most beautiful spot on lake Champlain!
What makes this property unique
Peaceful, Cozy home. Caring neighborhood. Everyone watches out for everyone. You always have a neighbor to help with anything. Large yard for games, Swim area, Shared Dock, Amazing Sunsets!! Our home is big enough for making large family memories and small enough for the rest you need.
