Our cottage is fully furnished and is easily accessed. This vista offers a refreshing and stimulating experience that is a much better value for the cost than any other option in central Illinois !! We live just across the lake and will be easily accessible for anything you need during your stay. I do want to caution that the house sits on the top of a bluff with a lot of steps, I wanted to note this for anyone with small children or that are not a fan of a few extra stairs.

Qusint cottsge, clean . Need to pay attention to labels on the plugs and switches!! They were there it took us a while before we figured it out, that was on us!
We had an amazing stay at this property. It was clean, had a beautiful view of the lake, beautiful sunrises, and the host was very responsive. The pics don't do it justice! I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful time at this picturesque cabin. Since all of my Mom's children live out of state and she's in assisted living it's difficult to find someplace to have Christmas. We had a fabulous dinner overlooking lake Decatur in our cabin. It was perfect and everyone wants me to book it for next year. Plus, the weather was so wonderful, it's as if we had ordered it. Spent a lot of time outside enjoying the view.
We were in town to celebrate Christmas with family, and, as it turns out, mourn a father-in-law. This place was perfect! There was a great view of the lake, good privacy, and plenty of space. The steps leading to the front door were challenging, but doable. This is a great find!
This home is very unique, likely the best view you will find. The living room is cozy. If you need room for dining, the dining room has a large table with a lake view. The stairs made me annoyed. No lie. They are terrible. However, there’s nothing the host can do about that. There’s an outdoor sitting area on the duck on the lake which was nice to have morning coffee. I would rate this host and home higher if I could. I will stay again.
My boyfriend and I came to be from a series of unfortunate life events. With that also came the he’s from Alabama and I am from Illinois issue. He has an aging father and two daughters in college there and I have an aging mother and decent job here. The reply is still new but we both really want to make it work so although he drove most of the distance we were able to meet up at this beautiful lakeside cabin and had the most wonderful weekend together. We were able to just stay in and cook our own meals while we spent time together. The host was wonderful and welcoming and even let us check in early when I explained my boyfriend would be coming from Alabama and arrive some time before me. We look forward to staying there again in the future.
This was a great house for a Millikin University reunion for my sorority sisters and me. The living room was large with plenty of seating and the sunroom has a large table with a beautiful view of the lake. One more bathroom would have been good but we made it work. It was a little difficult to find in the dark when we arrived Friday so better details of what to look for to find the number on the house would have been helpful. But all in all a cute house and a perfect spot to hang put with old friends..
Thank you for sharing your lakehouse! We really enjoyed the sunrises, beautiful lake views and peaceful and serene location! Loved the rustic feel of the lakehouse and the fireplace room was a great place in the evening to unwind! The lakehouse was the perfect location for our Decatur visit! Thank-you!
Nice quiet neighborhood. Looking over the lake . Host provided more then average of items needed . The sidewalk to the house was a little of a rough climb but would definitely stay there again .
A little charming home across the road from the lake! There were 37 steps up to the front door- so you are able to get your steps in each day! Alexa was able to turn the lights down low while you sit in the dining room and view the lake or chat with your family! The home is well stocked in the kitchen. Plenty of seasoning and dishes! Great little place to stay!
We enjoyed our syay , was nice being steps away from the lake . Nice and private Dock was a plus too. Thank you for sharing your cozy place for others to enjoy.
This is our second time staying here. The location is perfect for boating, swimming and fishing. The views of the lake are amazing. Jason was very accommodating to our travel schedules allowing for an early check in. We’re looking forward to staying here each year.
My sister and I brought our families together and had a wonderful time! Thank you to Jason for being so organized and responsive! We had 4 children ranging from 7 years down to 1one year old. The stairs are steep, but we were careful and had no issues. Great location and lovely view!

Happy with view
I was happy with the view. But the stairs should have some railings and the amenities said there was more beds then there actually is otherwise we had fun and enjoyed our trip
The view from the porch was wonderful. We watched the sunrise each day over the lake. The neighborhood was quiet and relaxing. Enjoyed the recommendations of the host for places near by. Would definitely stay there again.
Just couldn’t have been happier with the location, cleanliness, and amenities! We went to hear cicadas and birds and nature didn’t let us down. Inside the house it was cozy and quiet and the kitchen fully stocked with wonderful cookware. Thanks Jason for being so accommodating!
