Montorgueil, a pedestrian area To take advantage of the excitement of Paris, far from cars and near major monuments, the Montorgueil district is an excellent choice. A very lively district of Paris less known than the surrounding areas. However, it is one of the busiest in the capital. The busy cultural and commercial activity of the surrounding areas is such that the streets are one after another being integrated into the networks of a neighboring district or another. However, this is where everyone comes to walk around and do their shopping. A large pedestrian area in the 1790s, the charm of the local streets combines with that of the many shopping streets. The district is surrounded by the Saint-Eustache church and Les Halles, rue du Louvre, Rue Réaumur, and boulevard Sébastopol. The buildings are concentrated in the narrow streets, perfect for sitting at a table on the many terraces. Walks in Bonne-Nouvelle While strolling from one store to another, be sure not to miss the entrance to the symbolic Grand-Cerf passage, rue Saint-Denis, a shopping mall with a high glass roof and which is listed as monument. A vestige of the first half of the 19th century which survived the metamorphosis of Haussmann style and deplored by Aragon in Le Paysan de Paris, it is part of the enrichment of social life and the atmosphere of the district. On Rue Etienne Marcel, curiosity takes you to the Tower of Jean Sans Peur, one of the last vestiges of the Middle Ages in Paris. The tower is built on the ramparts of Philippe II Auguste and was part of the Hotel des Ducs de Bourgogne. Rue Saint-Denis is a symbol of Paris. It was known as the red light district for many years but it is now being transformed, and traditional stores are emerging. Learning in Montorgueil Montorgueil is a very lively district and has a particularly good metro service: line 4 courses at Les Halles, Etienne Marcel and Réaumur Sébastopol, where it crosses line 3, which also leads to the Sentier station. At Châtelet station, you can take the RER A, B and D. In terms of shopping, Montorgueil has everything you need: small convenience stores, bakeries, general food stores, and, of course, a wide choice of restaurants.

Loved the neighborhood! The apartment was great although it faces the center courtyard so there isn’t much light. Didn’t bother us too much since we were outside touring anyway! I’d stay there again!

The Perfect Spot!
We loved our stay in David’s apartment. We were three college girlfriends having a 40 yr reunion. The apartment was clean and comfortable with good amenities. The neighborhood was fantastic! We had easy walks all over Paris and felt so connected to lots of cool zones. Le Marias, the Louvre area, St Germain and more were convenient by food. Just a few streets behind the apartment is a great restaurant zone called Montrogueil. We ate at many of those spots and they were delicious! It was a wonderful experience overall. The beds were super comfy, too! Thanks David and Isabel!

Great place, great location
The property was as advertised, and Isabel was very helpful. Location is very convenient to the Metro, bus lines, and a Monoprix market just 100 steps away. It was quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. If you want to be in the Marais, this is a good choice.

Just "Meh"
Positives - great location, close to many restaurants, metro, grocery, clean Negatives - the apartment is "tired". The pictures are not accurate...granted it's the same furnishings but they are in desperate need of being cleaned/updated. Isabel (property manager) couldn't check us in fast enough and leave. We had several questions, but just stood there looking at each other as she rushed out the door. She speaks very little english so when communicating with her I had to use google translate and show her my phone. The safe does not work. After reaching out to her she basically told me "it doesn't work, some other guest broke it, it's summer/busy season so we can't get anyone to fix it, just hide your valuables in the apartment, we have no problems with theft". The sign on the front door cautions that you should protect your valuables as there have been break in attempts. We had a couple of other questions during our stay but after the safe answer I didn't even bother contacting Isabel. There are no basic instructions for washer, garbage removal, etc. That would've been extremely helpful. Overall this is a great location, clean, and met our basic needs. Based on the cost it would've been nice if the apartment pictures were accurate and we could have had better communication with the property manager.
