About this property
Fallen Leaf Lake Front Cabin, Lake Tahoe, Ca
Charming mountain cabin on beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake.
Fallen Leaf lake backs up against the Desolation Wilderness, an area of spectacular granite mountains and pristine alpine lakes. It is buffered from the noise and crowds of Lake Tahoe by a 5-mile, winding road giving Fallen Leaf the feel of a quiet, isolated mountain lake. One can hike along the many trails in the wilderness for hours without seeing another person and then drive to South Lake Tahoe to gamble or dine at an excellent restaurant. The outside deck is large and perfect for barbeques, dining, reading, or just enjoying the rich lake and mountain views. There are no roads, parking lots, or other cabins between you and the water's edge. The sandy lakefront beach is a perfect place for children and families. Nearby is a small store and marina where one can rent boats, kayaks, or canoes.

You can't beat the location and views! You have everything -great deck, full kitchen and living space, laundry, and lots of beautiful hiking trails nearby...
Wonderful cabin right on lake. Cabin is very bright, windows overlooking lake. Able to walk out door and kayak or take a stroll to Stanford camp or go on multiple hikes
We had a wonderful stay in this lake house. It was very comfortable and conveniently located near the lake and a small store, and we spent many days hiking on nearby trails. What a lovely weekend!
Our stay was magical! The location is outstanding and the cabin was the perfect getaway home away from home! It was cozy and clean and very comfortable. We will be back!
Perfect house for a relaxing family vacation at beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake. Our four kids enjoyed exploring the meadow just outside our backdoor, catching crawdads in the lake and making sand castles. My husband and I enjoyed the amazing view from the deck and appreciated the short walk to the marina & store where we could get espresso drinks and the New York Times!
Great convenient locationThe washing machine and dryer awkward location for the doors to openThe dishwasher didn’t clean well so we had to pre wash the glasses and dishes before putting them in
This fallen leaf lake property is on the far south side of the lake. It requires a ~20 min slow drive off the main roads onto a one lane road around the lake. When you arrive you are in paradise. There is amazing hiking access just out of the door of the cabin. The cabin is on the lake with a small community beach / swimming platform. The cabin is well stocked and clean. It was the perfect place for our family to relax and reconnect. I would return in the future.
Your family wants to be outdoors doing hiking or fishing or kayaking or just hanging out...but not all at the same time. This property makes that easy. Some can hike out the door as others walk a few steps to the marina and others go for ice cream at the store. And South Tahoe (and all its traffic) is only 15-20 minutes away should you need any of its services. In addition, parking around most of the lake is quite tight, so the two parking spaces in a parking lot for this cabin makes things much easier. Cabin is well maintained and well stocked in the kitchen.
Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our time at Fallen Leaf Lake. This cabin, with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding forest, is close to hiking, boating and beach opportunities as well as the Fallen Leaf store and cafe. The cabin itself is more spacious than it appears in the photos, with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable dining and living room gathering areas, and privacy for each ample-sized bedroom. We hope to return in the future!
We had a fantastic vacation at this very comfortable home, with our adult children and grans staying at the FL campground. So we had plenty of family dinners and time at the lake. Everyone greatly enjoyed the gorgeous views from the home....good for the soul! The hosts were very kind and responsive. The kitchen is well equipped and we loved the open style of the downstairs living area and kitchen. The meadow outside the home was extra lovely and full of wildflowers. There seemed to be a "resident" mama bear and her cub that walked through the area most days. We will be back!
We had a wonderful time at this Fallen Leaf Lake home. We appreciated the design of this house with wonderful views of the lake and trees, a deck for eating, lounging, and stargazing, a wonderful kitchen open to the dining room and living room perfect for our family reunion. Such close access to trails and swimming! We'd love to come back next summer!
Property is on fallen leaf lake, a stunning alpine lake with easy access to hiking trails into the high country and a pier for sunbathing under cloudless skies. House is clean and tastefully decorated with ample room for family.
We have been long time visitors to Fallen Leaf. One of the best places to stay. Very convenient to the lake and hiking. This is a great location for adults and kids. We will definitely stay again.
Lovely property with a beautiful view of the lake, close to the marina and hiking trails. Very well maintained and easy communications with the owners. We'd like to stay there again in the future.
Amazing stay at the Fairborn’s FLL cabin! Proximity to the lake and the store, with small kids and lots of gear, was priceless. The private dock and swim platform was a huge hit, and offered simply perfect views of the lake. Cozy, large, family-friendly cabin could use only a few updates, but was just perfect for our big group. Big family style dinners every night both indoors and on the deck. Lots of kitchen amenities and even found a hand mixer for homemade whipped cream on the Fourth of July. We had a problem with the hot water heater not being turned back up from ‘vacation mode’ but contacted the property manager at the lake and he talked us through the quick fix and we had no further problems with hot water for a party of 6 adults and 2 kids. Our dinner guests requested the rental info for future summer visits, and we would definitely return as well! Thank you Fairborns.

Great location near the Lake and loved the kitchen, dining, and living room all with great views.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. As the grandma in the group, I was given the gorgeous bedroom looking out to the Lake and also appreciated the mini sink in that room.
Thanks for making it available.
