About this property

4 BR Lakefront Home in a Quiet Cove with Swim Dock and No Boat Traffic!

4 BR / 3BA Lakefront House With Private Dock And Amazing Views!
Located in a very private cove on beautiful Lake Chatuge, this 4 bedroom, 3 bath house has plenty of room for families or can be intimate enough for a couple’s getaway. The home has a partially covered large back deck that runs the length of the house with wonderful views of the lake and sunset. The trees help to keep the house and deck cool but still allow for great views. There is a gas grill on the back porch.
Each of the four bedrooms has a large sliding glass door facing the lake. The master bedroom is on the main floor has a King bed and private bathroom and opens up onto the deck. The master bath was just remodeled with a larger shower and dual sinks. The second room on the main floor has a king bed and, large closet that opens onto the deck. The first bathroom to the right was remodeled with a new shower and French-country sink. There is a large living room that includes a 60" Roku TV and a wood-burning fireplace to help you relax and enjoy the views. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials to cook for your group, including a stove, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and small appliances.
Downstairs is a large living room that is wonderful for kids. It includes a table and board games, two couches, and a Double bed with a pull-out single trundle. The smaller bedroom has a queen bed, and the larger bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed with an extra twin mattress under the bed. The house can sleep 8 people in beds plus 2 on the Double Trundle. There is a ROKU TV downstairs.
Down from the house is the walkway to the new dock. The dock has a bay for a boat and 2 jet ski platforms. The cove is tranquil, even on the busiest days. However, it is still deep water; the depth at the end of the dock is over 10’ during the summer months, and it still has water in the winter months. Children can swim or fish off the dock without the fear of boats being nearby. You need a North Carolina fishing license to fish from the dock. We also provide 3 kayaks and a stand-up paddle board at no charge! Please wear life jackets and paddle boards on the kayaks. It is required by law. We also recently completed a small fire pit for you to enjoy s'mores and a good fire by the water.
Three cars can fit on the driveway. The area next to the road has enough room to park an SUV and boat trailer if you bring your boat. The dock has tie-downs to allow you to keep it in the water during your stay. There is a public boat ramp 2 miles away at Jackrabbit. If you don’t bring your boat, you can rent ski, pontoon, and jet skis at the local marinas. There are several marinas around Lake Chatuge. Chatuge Cove Marina is nearby on the NC side of the lake, about a 5 min. drive, and the larger ones (Boundary Waters Marina, The Ridges Marina, and Young Harris Water Sports) are across the lake on the GA side, near Hiawassee, about a 15-minute drive.
The Jackrabbit Biking Trails are only two miles from the house and provide another way to enjoy the area outdoors. The trails include a simple three-mile loop suitable for families and more difficult loops for experienced mountain bikers.

Nice, two-story lakefront home that accommodated our extended family for Thanksgiving. Nice large table on deck for entire family with clear views of the lake.Grandkids really enjoyed kayaking, as the lake was easily accessible from the boat dock. The rental included four kayaks, one paddleboard and numerous lifejackets in various sizes. Even with the very, cold evenings, the house stayed nice and warm. The washer and dryer were used daily and the kitchen had all the necessary supplies needed for oir large family. The grandkids enjoyed having the downstairs all to themselves. There were enough beds to accommodate our entire family. The newly renovated bathrooms were a nice surprise; we really loved the shower in the guest bath. The beds seemed to be hard at first, but everyone slept well. We also like how convenient the location is to Hiawassee and enjoyed the area activities. Brasstown Bald, Helen, Unicoi are all an easy drive. The driveway is a little tricky especially when trying to pare multiple vehicles, there is a parking pad at the roadside that was helpful. Everyone enjoyed the outdoor firepit and the nice dock.

Perfect

Celina provided excellent communication throughout our trip. This is our second time staying here. We had an issue with the grill that was mitigated quickly once I notified her. It was a pleasure staying there. Will definitely stay here again.

Great day for the whole family. Being on the lake makes for a great vacation. Every day the kids were out swimming fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. We rented a boat for two days and kept it docked at the cabin, which was wonderful. The house was very comfortable and well-maintained. Overall, I would highly recommend this home for a vacation.

We’ll be back

We were looking for a lake front property for easy, safe access to the water for our grandkids. We found that and more. The property is well presented on the VRBO site. Owner is responsive and easy to work with. Good communication before and during our stay. Check in was easy. As mentioned on the site there are steps from the house to the floating dock. My wife counted 50. I am 78, our grandkids are 13,11 and 9. We all did fine using the steps. We enjoyed swimming off the dock and used all four kayaks multiple times. Sunset view a plus. Property location a plus. On a quiet inlet, very little lake traffic. Easy access off the highway, close to the market (4 miles), 5 min to Jack Rabbit Trailhead for hiking/mountain biking. We found waterfall hikes, mountain top views and lake shore walks all within about a 20 min drive. Georgia Mountain Fair site had a free Thursday night family friendly concert. Nice brewpub in Hayesville. Unit is well equipped. There were a few things we had to pick up at The Dollar store but not an issue for us. We plan to return next year.

Perfect "Lake Life" Getaway!

We had two families (4 adults & 3 kids aged 10-18) here with our boat for a week and the home was perfect: awesome large deck overlooking the lake with beautiful sunsets, a very nice fire pit that we enjoyed and a like-new dock with plenty of water toys. Celina was very helpful and responsive, the beds were comfortable and the spot on the lake is serene. It's not easy to find great places to rent on Chatuge, so I highly recommend this one and we're already talking about going back.

great week at the lake

There were some small concerns when we arrived but nothing worth getting upset about. We spoke with the owner after we got home, she is very communicative and very fair. The views are so great and you can see the fish in the water. My son fished every day and caught his share. A couple really nice large mouth. We visited the Cherokee reservation area and just relaxed on the deck. This is a great home with a very good owner she listens and will work with anyone.

Lakeside Vacation

.My family of 7 (three generations) really enjoyed our weeklong vacation at the lake. We rented a boat for a couple of days, but the children loved just swimming and fishing off the dock The place is great to visit with family. I recommend anyone who has difficulty with stairs bring walking poles. The grandparents loved using them to come down to the dock. We had a storm the first night which threw out the power in the entire area (the water is powered by a well so the short trip to Ingles was very helpful). Celina was very communicative. We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked for another visit.

Amazing weekend on the lake

I have stayed in other places on Lake Hiawasee and this one is one I would return to in a heartbeat. The updated bathrooms were great as well as the beds/rooms and open space with two places to gather (teenagers in the basement) The quiet cove is amazing and peaceful and was a true highlight of the trip. We paddle boarded (first time)/kayaked, rented a boat overnight and just had a blast with all the toys. We didn't cook much, but we found everything we needed in the kitchen that we could want. The only con, and it's small, is that it can feel a bit stuffy at night during the heat of the summer, as the vents are on the floor. Luckily we brought some of our own fans from home and were prepared. Still, we will be back no doubt in the future.

Absolutely Amazing!!!

My family of 6 adults enjoyed an AMAZING week on the lake in the KAM Lake House! The house had absolutely everything you need. I can't say enough about the view from the back of the house. It was incredible! We sat on the deck in the evening grilling, playing board games, while watching the sunset. Then we enjoyed the beautiful fire pit after dark. Everything about our stay was so peaceful and relaxing. We towed our own boat down and the dock at the house could not have been more perfect. My family fished, kayaked and paddle boarded all week when we weren't out on the boat enjoying Lake Chatuge. After touring the entire lake several times from the boat we truly believe that the cove that the KAM Lake House is in is the BEST cove on the whole lake probably. Everything about it was perfect! You should know that there are at least 40 steps from the dock to the house that looked very intimidating in the beginning but ended up not being bad at all. If you can not do steps though you should be aware. The driveway is a little steep but manageable. The road is a little tight for a boat trailer in my opinion. My suggestion would be to store your boat trailer at Chatuge Cove Marina right down the street or The Ridges Resort Marina. Be sure to visit Bell Mt. for the spectacular views. Celina was great and responded quickly with any questions we had. We did not want to leave and can not wait to return to Lake Chatuge and the KAM Lake House!

Very pleasant stay and great location!

Overall, this was a really nice place. The dock was perfect for our pontoon boat. Parking the trailer was tricky as there are very narrow streets and we had to drive to find a place to make a U-Turn when it was time to leave and load the boat. The decks could use a good, deep cleaning as there was a lot of dirt, leaves, and a TON of spiders and webs. We didn't feel comfortable without shoes until we had swept and bought bug spray to spray. The kitchen is small and there is really no place to store food so we kept our provisions in tubs against the wall. We couldn't get the tv to work so we didn't watch any tv...which is okay since we were here to enjoy the lake. We did have a mishap with the stairs going down to the boat dock. There are stone steps and a railing made out of tree branches. There are no lights and my brother-in-law was coming down the steps one evening and used the branch railing for support. The railing was not attached and as a result, he tripped and rolled all the way down the very steep slope and landed in a heap after a 5 ft. drop onto the rocky shore. An ambulance was called and he recovered sufficiently after not being able to move his leg. He was badly bruised and very sore. My other brother-in-law sprained both his ankle and knee in an attempt to catch him as he rolled down the slope. (He ended up in the water and mud.) It was an unfortunate accident but there should be lights along the stone steps and a more substantial railing should be installed. We plan to contact the owner directly regarding this. She was extremely kind when we spoke on the phone. In spite of this, we had an enjoyable week together as a family. A few little "attentions to detail" would make a big improvement.

Relaxing Family Time

We enjoyed this house so much! Furniture is comfortable, beds a bit firm for our taste, but otherwise, everything was wonderful! The back porch view of the lake is spectacular! Fishing was enjoyable and we caught a large catfish and a gigantic yellow carp, which we threw back. Plenty of room for everyone. Close to stores and restaurants. We plan to be back next year!

Wonderful Getaway

Beautiful property on Lake Chatuge. We rented a pontoon boat that fit nicely in their boat house. We enjoyed using their kayaks as well. Grandkids played in the water off the dock and caught some fish near the dock. The weather was wonderful the first half of our trip even enjoying s’mores in the backyard fire pit. The property manager was very courteous and responded immediately to any question we had. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the getaway and enjoy the water and the mountains!

Beautiful Home

We had a very nice stay at the KAM house. Celina had great instructions outlined and excellent communication. The only negative was the home was pretty dusty, but it may have been due to the recent remodel of the bathroom (which was beautifully done) Celina has some very nice touches to make the stay extra nice. The linens were all clean and very comfortable. We felt at home during our visit. We would definitely stay again.

Hi,
Welcome to our Lake House. I'm Celina and my husband, Scott and I bought this house with my brother Van and our mom Shirley. Our kids are Kasi, Amy and Max so we call it the KAM lake house.

Why they chose this property

We all have ties to the NC mountains and wanted a place for our families to gather for vacations and holidays. We have several family members in the area. We love the lake, the mountains, and the trails. We rented this house several times before we purchased it. We hope you enjoy it too.

What makes this property unique

This property is right on the lake. The recent upgrades to the bathrooms make it like a home, not just a vacation rental. The cove we are on is quiet and we have little boat traffic. This house is a great place to stay year-round.

Premier Host

They consistently provide great experiences for their guests
