Amenities include:
-- An inviting solar-heated* pool tucked away behind bougainvillea bushes and a privacy wall.
-- A brand-new Jacuzzi® hot tub with seating for six and a convertible sunshade pergola.
-- La Quinta-style indoor/outdoor living, with French doors from the dining room to the pool, from the living room to the back yard, and from the master to the patio and Jacuzzi.
-- A large master suite boasting a Sterns & Foster Reserve Hepburn, among the most luxurious king mattresses available today. A user-friendly overhead projector plays high-def movies next to the large barn doors which provide privacy to the master bathroom and walk-in closet.
-- The Quail room, which offers a queen Nectar mattress, closet with drawer storage, a 55-inch smart TV and views to the hammock area of the back yard.
-- The Cactus room, with its twin-over-full bunk and rollout twin trundle bed, also has a closet with drawer storage, as well as a swing-arm-mounted 55-inch smart TV and writing desk.
-- A well-stocked and -appointed kitchen with everything you’ll need should you wish to cook, bake, or make your favorite drinks.
-- A fireplace in the living room, and a backyard fire pit with intimate seating.
-- A new Weber propane grill with cooking utensils.
-- A large hammock – perfect for whiling away the hours with a great book.
-- Smart technology and a house iPad to control the thermostat, full-color-spectrum mood lighting, locks and Jacuzzi.
-- Adult and child bicycles, with helmets and locks. It's a short ride with sidewalks to the shops and restaurants of Old Town or the La Quinta Resort, to the trailheads of La Quinta Cove, or to the neighborhood playground.
-- High ceilings and windows that let the desert sunshine wash in and give an airy, relaxing atmosphere.
-- Easy check-in and entry/exit with smart locks – don’t worry about the keys.
-- High-chair and pack-and-play crib for those traveling with young children.
-- Personal welcome and tour, at your convenience and optional, typically after you've had some time to settle in.
We hope to welcome you to La Quinta soon!
*Important note: The energy-efficient solar heating system does a great job of making the pool swimmable earlier in the spring and later in the fall. However, during the coldest and shortest days of winter, it will typically not be warm enough for most people to comfortably enjoy. The Jacuzzi, however, is available as warm as you like year-round.

About the host
Hosted by Shawn and Shakeh Simmons

A little bit about us….
We have been married since 2007 and live in the Encino community of Los Angeles with our daughter and our two dogs, Buster and Daisy.
Shawn was born and raised in Maryland and lived in England, Washington DC, and Tucson before settling down in California. Shakeh is Armenian and grew up in Iran before moving to the U.S. in her late teens with her family. We met in 2005 and instantly discovered our mutual love of travel, cultures, languages, food, and learning about people from different corners of the world.
Of all the beautiful places in the world ranging from mountain to oceans, small towns to the most luxurious European cities, the desert remains our favorite – the dry air, deep blue skies, starry nights, beautiful yet rugged vegetation, the wildlife – all of it. When we drive from Los Angeles to the desert, we always feel a calming sensation … a reconnection of sorts and a respite from the daily priorities and stresses of modern life.
In addition to raising our daughter and having careers in finance and philanthropy, we’re pursuing our dream of building and operating a boutique hospitality organization. Our mission is to provide best-in-class hospitality to guests as we share the places we love so much. While doing so, we are adamant about being good and respectful neighbors to those around us.
We began in La Quinta – with The Bottlebrush and The Sunberry – and now also operate Peppertree Lane Ranch in nearby Temecula Valley Wine Country. We’ll also soon open our newest property in Yucca Valley, near Joshua Tree National Park.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you soon!
With gratitude and appreciation,
Shawn and Shakeh

Why they chose this property
The moment we first stepped inside, we fell in love with The Bottlebrush. The Southwestern styling, the indoor/outdoor living spaces, the high ceilings and bright airiness – it felt like the La Quinta vacations we’ve come to love over the years. Each item in the house was hand-selected to express our best interpretation of the ideal La Quinta getaway. (If there are items you're particularly interested in for your own home, let us know and we can help you find them.)
We hope you enjoy the house – and the wonderful people, places and experiences La Quinta has to offer – as much as we do.
