-- Personal welcome and tour, at your convenience and optional, typically after you've had some time to settle in.

We hope to welcome you to La Quinta soon!

*Important note: The energy-efficient solar heating system does a great job of making the pool swimmable earlier in the spring and later in the fall. However, during the coldest and shortest days of winter, it will typically not be warm enough for most people to comfortably enjoy. The Jacuzzi, however, is available as warm as you like year-round.

Lovely Desert Get-Away
The Bottlebrush house was great for our much-needed sunshine break from the PNW. Great layout and amenities, well-stocked kitchen, amd really enjoyed the hot tub and pool. So nice to have some solar heating of the pool - most places charge $150+ per day and totally unheated pool in late winter/early spring can be way too chilly. This was perfect, cool but refreshing. We've stayed in several different desert cities and each has their pluses and minuses, but we enjoyed the less-frenetic La Quinta and found several great hikes nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Great visit
Had a wonderful stay in La Quinta, Saddlebrush. Lots of things to do, especially hiking and terrific restaurants nearby. Wouldn't recommend the Cliff, lots of hype but food ok and service was not good. Conversely, La Brasserie was a good choice, chef is from Alsace, France so there was a blend of French and German food but not the heavy German food. We had a very good meal at Basil Thai in the old village, small size restaurant so get there early. Owners responded to the few questions that we had within a minute or two via text. One recommendation to visitors, there's a pantry with various spices and food, suggest that you check in first to see what you need to do for groceries. There's a yoga mat in the garage as well as bikes. Visit Joshua Tree National Park, wow! We got a little lost but were able to see more of the park this way, lol. A person told us that when we go, have a plan. We thought that we did but maybe not as much as we should have. It's also a fair amount cooler over on that side of the mountains. We went in the North Entrance and drove quite a way into the park, at first thinking we were lost but figured it out and hiked at Split Rock. Directly across that entrance is Skull Rock although we were too tired to go hike there. Impressive and interesting rock formations. Bring water and snacks. Also, if the parking lot has a sign that it's full, drive in and check anyway as there were a number of spots available as people leave. Happy trails!

Home away from home… literally
My husband and I stayed here almost the entire month of January for a work trip along with our assistant and our dogs. The property is absolutely as delightful as the pictures show. We were very cozy but also, had plenty of privacy from each other. The yard was perfect for our dogs… it helped us relax (after a long day) to see our animals so relaxed. The owners were so welcoming. We wanted for nothing: plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, cooking supplies, laundry supplies, and even snacks! They also checked in with us upon arrival to make sure we could contact them if we had any issues. We could not be more pleased. So so thankful for a wonderful 3.5 weeks. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in La Quinta.

A little bit about us….

We have been married since 2007 and live in the Encino community of Los Angeles with our daughter and our two dogs, Buster and Daisy.

Shawn was born and raised in Maryland and lived in England, Washington DC, and Tucson before settling down in California. Shakeh is Armenian and grew up in Iran before moving to the U.S. in her late teens with her family. We met in 2005 and instantly discovered our mutual love of travel, cultures, languages, food, and learning about people from different corners of the world.

Of all the beautiful places in the world ranging from mountain to oceans, small towns to the most luxurious European cities, the desert remains our favorite – the dry air, deep blue skies, starry nights, beautiful yet rugged vegetation, the wildlife – all of it. When we drive from Los Angeles to the desert, we always feel a calming sensation … a reconnection of sorts and a respite from the daily priorities and stresses of modern life.

In addition to raising our daughter and having careers in finance and philanthropy, we’re pursuing our dream of building and operating a boutique hospitality organization. Our mission is to provide best-in-class hospitality to guests as we share the places we love so much. While doing so, we are adamant about being good and respectful neighbors to those around us.

We began in La Quinta – with The Bottlebrush and The Sunberry – and now also operate Peppertree Lane Ranch in nearby Temecula Valley Wine Country. We’ll also soon open our newest property in Yucca Valley, near Joshua Tree National Park.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you soon!

With gratitude and appreciation,
Shawn and Shakeh

Why they chose this property

The moment we first stepped inside, we fell in love with The Bottlebrush. The Southwestern styling, the indoor/outdoor living spaces, the high ceilings and bright airiness – it felt like the La Quinta vacations we’ve come to love over the years. Each item in the house was hand-selected to express our best interpretation of the ideal La Quinta getaway. (If there are items you're particularly interested in for your own home, let us know and we can help you find them.)

We hope you enjoy the house – and the wonderful people, places and experiences La Quinta has to offer – as much as we do.
