Room was clean and it was a nice space for our family and small dogs. The beach is pet friendly, but no animals are allowed in the pool area. The mattresses are very firm, but we got used to them after a couple nights. There are no seasonings or grilling tools, but the grills are very nice and the covered area is nice at the pool. The beach is a very short walk away so this is also nice. There is a beach wagon provided in the room and several of the bag chairs are provided…not actual beach chairs, but nice to have if you didn’t bring any. There is no umbrella provided. Plenty of space and the pool was great!

Great stay!

Great Condo

This is my second time to stay at Athena Ares and it was great. It's right across the street from the beach and near lots of restaurants and bars. The condo has everything you need and is super comfortable.

Beautiful condo

The area was perfect. Public beach access was so close and convenient. Many restaurants and stores within walking distance. Pool at complex was perfect and an awesome option on windy days. Loved our stay here, beds comfortable and pull out sleeper couch great addition .

Always a pleasure

Perfect place to stay for our family vacation. Best part is it is located across the street from beach access and the beach is one of the quieter areas along S Padre. Also, my teens loved having a pool onsite. We had a minor snafu with the key at check-in but the management team quickly helped us out. Overall, very clean accommodations, nicely furnished, well run and maintained, and great location. Also, very dog friendly.

Excellent location, well equipped property, great communication from hosts.

We visited for a family gathering for Thanksgiving and found the apartments very well equipped and the beds very comfortable. It was a shame the weather did not allow us to fully enjoy the out door space and pool, but it looked like a great place to spend time outside.

Family holiday

We rented 4 units for ourselves and the families of our three daughters. The condos were well equipped and very convenient to the beach. The pool and patio area were great for getting everyone together for dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

Why they chose this property

The location is great! We can easily head back to the condo for lunch or just to grab more digging stuff. Then it's just a 1-2 minute walk back across the street and we are there, in the water! We also love walking down to the Wanna Wanna Inn for fried shrimp, cold beer, and good music. When our family comes to visit, we stay in all of the condos and spread out. We get to enjoy being close together without listening to each other snore!
