The well-appointed kitchen and gas grill provide an excellent combination for a night of entertaining family and friends. Take delight in a beautiful sunrise over Satulah Mountain from the front porch or unwind after a full day of activities on the private, covered back porch with wood burning stack stone fireplace and 60" flat screen TV.
Dogwood Cottage boasts one level living with step less back entry, two master suites, each with ensuite bathrooms and luxurious bedding. The kitchen is fully stocked and features quartz counter tops with custom cabinetry, opening to the beautiful living room with gas stone fireplace, 55" TV and lovely dining table seating 4-6. Dogwood Cottage will entice you with its elegant interiors and peaceful outdoor living spaces.

You will find yourself surrounded by the picturesque mountain views, roaring waterfalls, rivers, streams, bountiful vegetation and ample hiking trails throughout the Nantahala National Forest. People flock here to enjoy the great outdoors, hospitality, culture, live music, theater, shopping, fine dining, festivals and the captivating charm of Highlands.

Wonderful stay at Dogwood Cottage

This property is a lovely place to stay. It is decorated so pretty and is super clean and well stocked.... the porches are the best to have your morning cup of coffee or your early evening glass of wine listening to the birds sing!Very relaxing and peaceful!

Pros: Location is an easy drive into town. And less than a 2 mile walk. Quiet an quirky neighborhood and friendly neighbors. Great roads to walk our dog. Accommodations: Beautifully decorated with modern amenities. Fully stocked kitchen and luxury spa toiletries in the bathrooms. The furniture is very comfortable. Chris and Joy have a made a beautiful cottage for their guests to enjoy. Cons: Can't think of anything. We highly recommend their Dogwood Cottage to folks traveling to Highlands, NC. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

Mother's Day Weekend

We loved this cottage for our family on Mother's Day. It was a rainy weekend in Highlands but we enjoyed the cozy fires both inside and out! Highly recommend and loved the aesthetic of the space/

Mother Daughter Weekend

This is a super cute cottage! Very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Comfortable beds and the back porch with fireplace and TV was incredible. Very short drive to downtown. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it. The hosts were great!

Cozy mountain cottage

Loved staying at this beautiful cottage. It was very clean and has many items in the house to make it cozy and welcoming. The outdoor porch area with fireplace and T.V. is where we spent most of our time. Located very close to town was a plus as well. We would definitely recommend staying here.

well equipped cottage!

We stayed in Chris's place in June 2020. The house is adorable and equipped with everything you could need. We loved sitting outside on their two porches! The drive to town is also very easy and quick. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Absolutely perfect!!

The cabin was a perfect spot for many hikes around Highlands and Cashiers. It was beautifully decorated, incredibly clean and perfectly appointed. They thought of everything and welcomed our little frenchie! We will definitely be back. I can’t recommend this cabin enough, it’s perfect!

Perfect location! Close to Main Street, trails , the art center. The neighborhood is perfect for walking . This cottage is very clean and the owners have thought of everything you may need while staying. Beautifully decorated and the front and back porches were so enjoyable! Thank you for everything!

Nice cottage

The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our stay close to town and sitting outside in front of the fire watching football. Only downside was no espn so we went into town to watch a college game. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and owners were very responsive.

Highlands Wine and Food Fest

Staying at beautifully decorated Dogwood Cottage completed our festival weekend getaway! As others have said before, Chris and Joy thought of every detail necessary to make the visit a wonderful and relaxing experience. We enjoyed inside and outside fires while watching SEC football, playing games, walks into town and excellent food, wine & music. We will be back!

3 might getaway

Just a couple of suggestions. The dishwasher never worked and we had to hand wash everything. We cooked in one evening and breakfast 2 mornings. Very inconvenient. We also enjoy playing games at the dining table and it is too dark to see well. The cabin itself is very nice and comfortable.

Chris and Joy's home is everything you would want and expect for a wonderful stay in Highlands. Proximity to main street, clean, well stocked with everything you need. Lovely back yard and covered sitting area. Would definitely stay again in the future.
