About this property

Peaceful Slice of Paradise!Peaceful Slice of Paradise!

Paradise Valley Cottage is your comfortable home away from home set amongst giant willows and pine trees with a view of the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is a stand alone building on our ranch with a very private entrance. The cabin is centrally located between Livingston and Yellowstone National Park with easy access to all that Paradise Valley has to offer. Step onto the wood deck and flagstone patio to enjoy the magnificent mountain views and barbecue your favorite meal. Walk along Eight Mile Creek to our private pond and enjoy the music of the water flowing while gazing up at Emigrant Peak.

Five miles from the cottage is Chico Hot Springs. After a day of hiking or skiing this is the place to be to sooth your tired muscles and relax. Here you can catch a meal at the grill or make reservations for a more elegant dinner in the dining room. Later, you can take in a live band and dance the night away. On the way to Chico Hot Springs there is a general store with everything you can imagine and across the street is a post office, bank, deli, bakery and the Old Saloon where you can enjoy a fantastic breakfast, burger or your favorite beverage.

The biggest attraction is just 35 miles south - Yellowstone National Park. Besides the famous Old Faithful Geyser, you will see wildlife - bison, elk, bear, big horn sheep, and if you're really lucky, wolf. The Park has so many wonderful sights that one day is never enough. If you are able, hike some of the back trails to really experience the peaceful beauty and in the winter, take a snow coach tour, snowmobile, or cross-country ski to enjoy the silence and pristine beauty.

For all the fishermen out there, Yellowstone River is easily accessed by our private site, one-half mile from the cottage. Set your drift boat in the river or wade in to catch rainbow and brown trout. Whether you are fly fishing or bait fishing, Yellowstone River will not disappoint. In the summer, if you're look for a boating experience or want to sunbath at the beach of a lake, Daily Lake is 15 minutes away and swimming, sailing, fishing and windsurfing are some of the popular activities found on this lake.

In the town of Livingston, among all the necessities (grocery store, pharmacies) you will find museums, art galleries, a farmer's market on Wednesdays throughout the summer, restaurants and boutique shops. There is also an 18-hole golf course and Sacajawea Park which hosts the annual music summer fest in July. Wintertime brings to Livingston live plays at the Blue Slipper and Firehouse, seasonal events such as the Christmas Stroll, bazaar and New Years Dance at the Depot.

Great place, the view is excellent. They have all the necessities to help with cooking or even bathroom products if you forget something. Checking out is breezy. Of course the plus is the miniature horse. She is so sweet. There is a cool little barbecue place down the road to eat at and they have good beer as well.

Perfect name for a great place

Peaceful slice of paradise is a perfect name for this place. It was clean well stocked with most anything you would need to cook, wash clothes, plenty of linens and the bathroom had soap and shampoo in case you forget. We had a great stay and would recommend a Peaceful slice of paradise.

Spactacular!

Wonderful ranch house complete with horses, chickens, and the view can’t be beat! Location is safe and very comfortable bed. Owners provided everything you could think of. Easy and scenic drive to the North entrance of Yellowstone. Would love to stay there again.

Stay in Paradise Valley

We very much enjoyed our stay on the "ranch" in Paradise Valley. Although out in the country, it was Montana "near" to the North entrance to Yellowstone National Park which we visited twice during our 3 night stay. The property had all the necessary equipment for cooking and although it was technically a "studio" it was a large open space/room with a large bathroom. We would recommend staying here.

Roomy, comfortable unit.

The road to the site is full of large rocks and big holes, driving in is not pleasant The studio is much larger than it appears in pictures. The bed is the most comfortable we've had on our three week trip. Host shared fresh eggs.

Cozy

A cozy little peaceful place close to a Yellowstone entrance. It is a beautiful area. The owners leave you alone to enjoy our time. The thermostat controlled fireplace as well as a stand alone A/C unit keeps the place comfortable. My recommendations: the bed needs replaced. If someone rolls over in bed it is loud enough to disturb everyone, also those with physical issues have a difficult time getting up and down due to the height of the bed. Most things are thoughtfully provided though they were out of laundry detergent, we don't all bat 1000% all the time. I realize this isn't the only place off the access road but it would be nice if the owners would get together and have the road maintained, it is awful. The ceiling fan needed cleaning. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. I do recommend it.

A Little Slice of Paradise: More Than A Name

Incredible! Stunning! Beautiful! Surrounded by mountains! Peaceful! It was the most perfect area to stay. Chico Hot Springs was only a few miles away. The bed was comfortable, kitchen was cute, and there were plenty of books to read. The dirt/gravel road was a beautiful walk in the morning to start each day. Sounds of water rushing through the creek running through the property was phenomenal! The only downfalls were not being able to really sit outside to eat due to the horse pasture and the manure being directly next to the porch. Also, the owner’s dogs would start barking fairly early. And man, the little road next to the property, Paradise Ranch Road, horribly bumpy! Nothing the owners can do about that. Oh, a few more wash cloths would be helpful. 😉 I was able to do some astrophotography one night, watched a wonderful storm roll in, saw beautiful rainbows, watched the mountain bluebirds by their nest, and thoroughly enjoyed the bunnies playful exuberance each day. One was even eating under the chair I had fallen asleep in. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Thank you for hosting us. We’re sorry we lost the keys, but we’re happy we were able to replace them for you!

Cozy cottage had a good heater, comfy bed, ceiling fan, and kitchen equipped for cooking. Scenic Location was good for us, between Livingston and Gardiner. 2 Thermal springs nearby to choose from. Rental small SUV had to go slow on gravel road adding a few minutes to travel time in & out. Only suggestion I have for owner is to have a 3-way bulb in the 3-way lamp for older readers like us!

The roads to the cottage in both directions are pretty rough, multiple pot holes and washboard gravel road. All out of the hosts control. The cabin itself is very quiet and peaceful with a nice view from the porch. Watched bunnies play, deer coming down to the creek to drink, and a cute pony grazing nearby. The bed in the cabin is pretty high, was difficult for my elderly mother to get in and out but was quite comfortable. Everything is well stocked. Lots of information about the area provided. The trash can in the kitchen was very small, small inconvenience.

Peaceful and Quaint

Directions to property were spot on and check-in was easy. It was the perfect size for three people to stay. The kitchen and bathroom were very clean. The only downfall was the sprinkler system woke us up every morning. I’m sure if we would’ve asked they would’ve turned them off but I didn’t want to bother anyone about the issue (I blame myself for not asking). This area was peaceful, we felt safe, and it came with beautiful views. Thank you again for opening part of your home to us!!!!!

Perfect spot for our quick weekend getaway. We honestly didn’t spend much time at the cottage, but it was clean, comfortable and a great location for the activities we had planned. It was quiet, well stocked and Chris was extremely responsive. The only thing that could have made it better is a bigger bed, but we knew that going in. Overall, an above average option in one of our favorite destinations. Thanks for sharing!

Nice property to visit Yellowstone, quiet retreat from the city. It's a bit hard to cook without some utensils (vegetable pealer, drainer and a vent to avoir triggering the fire alarm).

Westward Bound!

Paradise Valley Cottage was perfect for the two of us! Fishing at Three Dollar Bridge, float fishing on the Yellowstone River, trip down to Yellowstone National Park, fishing and exploring Mill Creek area, meals at Follow Yer’ Nose and Montana Rib & Chop House, visits to area fly shops and quilt shops rounded out our trip!! Would love to return!!
