Welcome to "The Crab Shack" located in Salt Marsh Point. This is our recently renovated home located just minutes from the oceanfront. Everything here is new, upscale, comfy and just waiting for you. Imagine relaxing on the front veranda in upscale patio furniture, led candles, offset umbrella, outdoor grill and privacy fence. Or take it inside to the professionally decorated beach themed setting, with everything brand new (except the antiques) and waiting for you. Ready for the beach? We have provided beach chairs, beach towels, umbrellas, a rolling cooler and a rolling beach cart and wagon to carry everything you need for some sun and sand.

This place is not only extremely homey and cute, but they have anything you could need in the home. Down to a kennel and dog bowl in the closet. We have already decided if we come back that we are definitely staying here again! Its in a nice and quiet area and close to alot of things. Highly recommend!

Great Time!

Property was even better than portrayed in the pictures! Attention to detail including supplying things we might possibly need was the best we have experienced. We could not have asked for more. I even got some excellent photos of the F/A -18’s returning to Norfolk base. Our boy Simon appreciated his patch of grass as well. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Cozy, charming comfortable spaces and fenced yard for our 2 pups was awesome!Grandkids who live in Va Beach spent one of the nights with us and slept on the LR couches with supplied pillows and blankets

Great Place to Stay with Dogs!

We really enjoyed staying here! It was just a couple blocks from a really nice park that has walking trails and a dog park. I really like that the living room is large enough to accommodate two dog crates easily. The owners provide a lot of little necessities, like toiletry items. The unit was super clean and nicely decorated. And the couch is quite possibly the most comfortable couch ever! Overall, I highly recommend this rental!

We loved this little house! We had everything we needed right at our fingertips! Delightfully decorated inside and out! Nice private courtyard in the front and back and the bed was very comfortable!! It was located just minutes from the beach and restaurants.

Great place and location

We loved the place. Easy access to everything. Only had issue with code for door on the first day trying to check in, but John and Rachel took care of it. On my next visit to Virginia Beach I will be checking on this rental for availability first. Thanks for a great experience.

Relaxing getaway

This was a great place for the 2 of us and our dog. She loved relaxing in the sunshine on the fenced in front deck. The hosts provided thoughtful amenities and it was very clean. The neighborhood is quiet except for the fighter jets. It actually was pretty cool to see them go over. It's not far from the beach, shopping, and restaurants. We would stay here again!

Wonderful rental!

We traveled with our dogs and loved the fenced-in back and front yards! This property was extremely clean and well-stocked!! We lived in the Norfolk/Va. Beach area for over 40 years and knew about the jet noise. I would suggest that you may want to make renters aware of this because it can be rather loud. Other than that, we enjoyed out stay and would rent again!!

Cozy, Spotless and wonderful !! A pets paradise with NIce Yard!

This home is so special. All new appliances, snacks provided, water provided. I just cant say enough about how cozy and clean this home is! My dog loved going outside to the front patio and also the backyard area. TV in the bedroom and also living room. I would love to own a home just like this one!

Great place for 2 ( dog!)

We enjoyed our stay in this townhouse. The neighborhood was quiet, pleasant and good for walking our dog (great park nearby so that she could get off her leash and run around in an enclosed area!!). The amenities were great (laundry soap provided, coffee, lots of dishes/silverware, etc). The rooms were clean and tidy. Lots of clean towels to use and a washer/dryer so that we didn't need to pack much. We loved having the back enclosed porch and yard area - again for our beloved pup :-). The jets taking off from the Oceana Naval Air Station were loud, but at the same time a marvel to watch. Fortunately, the take-offs didn't start til after 8 (or maybe 9) a.m. and ended before we went to bed. We lived in Virginia Beach over 35 years ago and enjoy going back to visit relatives. We'll keep this one in mind when we make our next trip. Thank you!

A dog park close by. Resturants and the beach very close. Friendly people in the neighborhood. Easy to contact owner. Very plesant experience. Would definitely go back. Would like to stay at another location with this owner. He and wife care about what you need for comfort and relaxation. We loved the crab shack. Sharon, George, and Klyde(shitu/yorkie).

Wooded Retreat with Pawsome Perks!

My stay at this wonderful property was a true delight! Tucked away in a peaceful, wooded neighborhood, it felt like a serene retreat while still being incredibly close to everything I needed. I especially loved the easy access to walking trails, a tennis court, and a fantastic dog park.For anyone traveling with dogs, this place is perfect! The fenced-in front and backyards provided a safe and spacious area for my furry friends to enjoy. The hosts truly went above and beyond with thoughtful extra amenities. We were so grateful for the refreshments and the well-stocked cooking supplies – it made settling in and enjoying our time so much easier. We also appreciated the overall sense of safety and security the property offered and a short drive from everything, including the beach! We took advantage of the local recommendations provided and absolutely loved Rudee's at the Inlet – a must-try! The fighter jets overhead was surprisingly cool and added a unique touch to our stay. I wholeheartedly recommend this property and will definitely be booking another stay here in the future!"

Hands down the best VRBO experience ever

These good folks take hosting seriously. The house was exactly as depicted and was immaculate, thoughtfully stocked, intuitively organized. Great location with a fabulous dog park a short stroll away, not far from the beach, quiet and pleasant neighborhood. Check-in process was seamless, and communication with them was first rate. I would absolutely stay with them again, and I wish all hosts were as passionate about their properties and their guests' experiences as these two are. Hats way off, and thank you!

Cozy home at the Beach

We enjoyed our stay at the Crab Shack very much. The front and back patio areas were lovely and the home was clean and well decorated with a beachy vibe. The hosts provided very nice amenities including welcome snacks and water both still and sparkling! In the bathroom you had everything you needed! High end shampoo, conditioner, body wash, makeup wipes and cotton balls and cue tips! Fresh linens were prepared plus extras in the closet along with beach towels! You even have access to beach essentials like chairs, coolers, umbrellas and carts. Overall, I would stay here again because of how comfortable the home was and it’s location to the beach and restaurants.

Great stay. House was cozy, clean, beautifully decorated and convenient. Host was friendly and helpful when we called. Kitchen and entire house was well stocked with every possible convenience. Great house

We really loved the home—it was perfect for a beach getaway and had everything we needed for a great stay. However, we did notice that it's located directly under the flyover, which brought some unexpected noise. Also, it seemed like there may have been a cat in the home at some point, as there was a noticeable pet odor. Despite those things, we truly enjoyed our time there and appreciated the overall experience.

Why they chose this property

This home is located just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the oceanfront yet close enough to bike or walk. The neighborhood offers a park with tennis courts, a playground, picnic area and a scenic walkway along "Salt Marsh Point" situated as part of Rudee Inlet. Our property is fully furnished, the kitchen is very well stocked with everything you might need to prepare a gourmet meal or grill out on the front veranda. Located at the entrance to the neighborhood is a playground and park for the the family, tennis courts, a brand new dog park and scenic nature trail which takes you along side of Owls Creek. Our house and neighborhood are both super dog friendly.

What makes this property unique

Our home has a large fenced in front veranda/deck with a 6 burner propane grill and a premium patio table with offset umbrella. The back yard is also fenced in and has a park style bench with end tables and a patio umbrella. This offers you plenty of room to get together if you want or separate spaces if you need a little alone time.
