About this property

Glamping Geodesic Dome Tent - Trout Stream, Fire Pit & Privacy +

Experience NC's first luxury, eco-friendly, Geodesic Dome.

Unplug To Recharge. Choose Nature. 15 mins from Boone NC.

Your Dome sits on 8.5 acres with only 3 sites & 1200+ feet of state stocked trout stream (1/4 mile).

Instagram worthy Glamping experience. Eco-Nature escape on a dime!

No WiFi. No plumbing (BYO Water). No problem! Unplug from Life and Recharge!

CreekFall Basecamp is primitive camping at an unprecedented level. And we did not spend a mint on this steel dome to disappoint! We have created a space for your much-needed digital detox on a beautiful tract of land that allows for the utmost privacy. Immerse yourself in nature and unplug, you will thank us later.

Arrive to a king bed (and set of bunks) steps from a noisy state-stocked trout stream. BYO LINENS! There are screens for the windows to allow a cross breeze. We provide puck lights for the evenings. Of course, there is a port-o-let, pumped weekly and cleaned daily (not perfect, but it works perfectly and keeps costs down a lot).

We are pet friendly with a $25 pet fee.

We require that you park just off a state-maintained road and hike 150 yards down a path, over a walking bridge and up a path to your Dome. You will then have 8.5 acres, 1200+ feet of creek frontage shared by only a few families at this more than private campground.

There are 2 porto-potties at parking. They are cleaned daily and pumped weekly. They are not the perfect problem solve, but they work perfectly and keep down costs significantly.

Go explore! Go Unplug!

Unique experience with peaceful setting. Owners are amazing to work with and are very responsive to communicate. Camping without having to carry everything or set it up. Beautiful creek scenery.

Peaceful

Our only complaint was that there were no trout in the water, in fact no fish at all. Otherwise it was so peaceful and very relaxing

Anniversary getaway

My wife and I spent our anniversary here and it surpassed any and all expectations. The dome is immaculately clean, with a stunning view of the stream below. The property in which the dome is nestled in nothing short of breathtaking. We enjoyed walks along the trail parallel to the water, playing board games by the fire pit, and relaxing inside the comfy bed. On top of it all the property owners were kind and gracious. If you are looking for a serene and private get away look no further. My wife and I our avid travelers and this was one of our most memorable experiences, we will most certainly be back.

Deep gap dome, almost awesome

My girlfriend and I booked this trip to get away from city life and enjoy the peace, quiet and privacy of a mountain getaway. The location and setting were nice, although the listing noted we would have the entirety of the rental property to ourselves. Upon arrival we were greeted by a family of four and multiple campsites within the property. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the listing was dated and some minor details were errant. The place was clean and tidy, and the wood stove was a live saver! Still would revisit knowing now what I didn’t previously. I would recommend going when there is plenty of foliage given our dome window (which overlooks a really cool stream) was facing directly towards the road about 60 yards away. 7/10 overall

We have 3 domes on our acreage, sorry for the confusion. Happy to hear it was clean and you enjoyed your stay. You can use the curtains for privacy and there is a road across the creek and above you, but once there are any leaves on the trees you will never know it was there. Winter camping is definitely a different experience!

Fireflies were an added bonus. Lit up the sky.

We had a very nice stay at the glamping unplugged. It was super clean, very comfortable bed, and a really cool experience, especially at night. I’ve never seen that many fireflies at once and it was beautiful. I appreciated the fire wood, the fire place, and the camping toilet in the tent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because there were no towels as advertised and there were no instructions on how to use the charging box. We were unable to use the fans because we couldn’t use the charging box, and there were no written instructions on how they wanted us to clean the house after. We swept the floors and took our trash out however since there is no cell service there I didn’t know what the house rules were at the end of the stay. It would have been nice to have some info about the surrounding area as well. There was a food loin close by but we had to drive out of deep gap to get cell reception to see where the closest store was in town. Overall a beautiful location and would stay again.

For clarity, not only do we not have WiFi you will undoubtedly not have cell service. That is the point of visiting "Glamping Unplugged!" So happy you had a great getaway!

Unplugged for sure

I did enjoy my stay, but when reading the listing on here it stated 'glamping'. I am a travel agency owner by trade, this is not glamping. If there was running water and electricity, ok.. yes, but no this is not. I did appreciate the No data or wifi, my business has so much social media is was nice to pushed outside of my comfort zone and not have that connection. The river is clean and beautiful, the dome tent was wonderful, the bed was 10/10 absolutely comfortable and loving the sheets!!!! Everything including location was fantastic. Town was a short drive and easy to get to. If it had running water, I would be back in a heartbeat. But it doesn't mean I am not going to mention this place to my clients to enjoy.

I would recommend reading the description for what you are renting so that you are not confused when you arrive to an "unplugged" environment (which is why we tell you to bring water?)? We are called "Glamping Unplugged" for a reason. So happy your stay was a 10 out of 10, shame you dinged us for not having running water, because we do not have running water, we do not have plumbing, we do not have electrical outlets. This is our version of primitive glamping. As a travel agent, I would recommend asking questions rather than assuming your version of glamping us everyone's version of glamping? But again, so happy you loved your experience!

This was an awesome experience! The host was very kind and quickly responded to our messages. There are three domes, but it felt very private. It was a much needed getaway and it did not disappoint! We’ll definitely be back!

Reconnecting

My husband and I had the best time celebrating our anniversary here! We always look for unusual places to stay. The property was beautiful especially with the leaves changing! There are some great swimming holes along their portion of river and we can’t wait to come back in the summer to swim. The property is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and tons of hiking trails. The property has that far away feel but you are not far from Boone or Blowing rock. It was relaxing to sit by the fire, hear the river, and actually talk to my husband without our phones going off every 5 minutes. The dome itself has so many thoughtful touches. The bed is sooo comfortable. We loved staying here!

Fun getaway

This was labeled as "the best holiday ever" by our kids. It was a perfect hideaway to get away from the busyness of the world. During the day you could entertain yourself with fishing, exploring and hiking and end the evening with seeing almost every star in the sky by the fire pit. We will definitely be back to unplug soon.

About the host

Your host

Host profile image
Glamping Unplugged was created out of necessity. There is nothing like our Dome and crafted experience available to vacationing families in Western North Carolina and that is simply not fair!

Nature is important! And occasionally "Unplugging" from electronics should be paramount!

Sit back, relax, let the stresses of every day life wash away with the creek water and communicate with your family about what is actually important in life!

Why they chose this property

8+ acres with a noisy state-stocked creek and a HUGE rock wall was all we needed to see. We purchased the land based solely on photos, but were able to walk the land before closing!

What makes this property unique

A modern day spin on camping. Immerse yourself in nature and have the experience worthy of your Instagram and social media feeds!
