About this property

Yellowstone Riverside Cabin - On the River Next to Yellowstone National Park!

Yellowstone Riverside Cabin is located just 5 miles from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park and the town of Gardiner, Montana and sits along the banks of the Yellowstone River.
This cozy cabin is wonderful all year round. In the winter enjoy wildlife watching from the warmth of the cabin or drive your own car into Yellowstone National Park and the Lamar Valley. The roads to the cabin are maintained year round with grading and snow plowing.
The cabin's patio, which looks out at the river, has a picnic table, a comfortable love seat, a bench with pad to recline on, and a table top BBQ.
Just walk out your door and fish a Blue Ribbon stream/river. Proper fishing permits are available in town.
Wildlife abounds! Staying at the cabin is like being in the Park but without the crowds. The short drive along the gravel road, Old Yellowstone Trail, is great for viewing wildlife. I drive it with a camera ready to go on the seat beside me.
For the photographers visiting an HD flat screened monitor with IPS is available and photography books.
The cabin is set up with all the modern conveniences, large flat screen TV and Firecube with streaming, Blue ray DVD player, Wi-fi, USB ports, gas and electrical heating.
The kitchen is fully furnished with new dishes, silverware, coffee maker, toaster oven, crock pot, pots and pans, dish towels, mixer, baking pans, utensils, etc.
Washer and Dryer, ironing board and iron, hair drier, lighted vanity mirror w/magnification, USB ports in the walls by the beds and in living room and kitchen.
Many books on nature, etc. to borrow but please leave in the cabin.
I am excited to share my wonderful riverside cabin with you. I have recently purchased this cabin and many new items have been added. It is my hope that you find it meets all your needs and more.
I love this location and i think you will too.

The cabin was just as pictured. Easy to find, easy to access. We were gratefully able to check in early. Vanya was VERY quick to respond to all communication. Thanks for being a great hostess.

Picturesque Stay Near North Yellowstone
We very much enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Yellowstone River Cabin. It is literally right next to the National Park and provided us a great place to stay while seeing all there is to see in North Yellowstone. The kitchen is well equipped and the cabin met my expectations of cleanliness. The owner provides great details in her handy book. She was also helpful with tips in where to eat lunch in Bozeman and to purchase groceries. If we return to North Yellowstone in the future, would definitely stay again.

Friends Retreat
My friends and I had a great time together spending three days at our cabin rental. We would highly recommend this property/vacation rental and hope to visit again for a family vacation/perhaps couples retreat. All the appliances/grill, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom accommodations were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the wildlife viewing from our vehicles and from the livingroom window as Vanya had a spotting scope for us to spy a large hurd of elk bedding down on the hillside across the river. We pleasantly learned that the wintertime is a great time to visit Gardiner. Besides the beauty of the snow covered mountains, we took numerous photos of bighorn sheep, elk, deer and bison just lounging/feeding near the road that leads to the cabin. We saw more wildlife in three days than we see in Glacier in three years. Just spectacular.

Nature is my passion. I grew up in Eugene, Oregon but spent a year in American Samoa and in my teens a year in Sri Lanka. After college I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where I currently live. I love the islands, am an avid paddler, but I also love the mainland. In hopes of spending more time on the mainland I started looking for a cabin close to Yellowstone, close to my Uncle and close to fishing. I was very lucky to acquire this cabin from Kaylie and Michael who owned the cabin for many years and shared it with people as a vacation rental when they were not using it. I am excited to do the same. I took possession of the cabin end of November 2017 and spent most of January and part of February making it a comfortable, cozy and fun cabin on the Yellowstone river. I hope it's just about perfect!

Why they chose this property

I chose this spot because I fell in love with Yellowstone in the winter. It's hard to beat YS National Park in the summer but the winter is my favorite. I like to be able to drive into the park on my own in the winter and not have to go with a snow coach. The North entrance allows this. The setting here is absolutely beautiful and this area is not overly commercialized or crowded.
When i was looking for a spot to possibly purchase a little cabin i stumbled across this one and there was no turning back. I had to have it. I became friends with Kaylie and found she was looking for the right person to pass her cabin on to and luckily she decided that was me! So, here I am.
I hope this is an ideal cabin, one with lots of wildlife viewing and removed from crowds but still has access to a small town. A cabin with modern conveniences, especially in this digital age: wi-fi, USB ports, UHD TV with sound bar, UHD Blue-ray DVD, DVDs to borrow. A cozy cabin that's warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
It is my hope to furnish my cabin so that everyone will thoroughly enjoy their stay and hopefully have all their expectations met. It is my goal to have visitors want for nothing.
All that being said, please help take care of the cabin and the furnishings. This is my home, it is very special to me. Please help me keep it in good condition and high standards. I ask that you treat my cabin as you would your own, or as you would a good friend's place. We are trusting each other. I am striving to have many returning guests and/or guests by word of mouth.

What makes this property unique

If you don't mind driving a few miles on a gravel road, it is a county-maintained road but usage can cause some wash-boarding, you'll be greatly rewarded by the surroundings. It's a common occurrence to see elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, bison, bighorn sheep, and more along the drive. Please, when on the gravel road, just keep your speed down to 25 mph or less and as low as 20 mph at night.
There can be dangerous animals on property - Grizzly and black bears, wolves, mountain lions, elk, bison, deer, rattlesnakes, etc. Please maintain clean patio/property at all times. And remember never to approach the wild animals. Keep a safe distance.
Be safe, carry bear spray when hiking/biking.
Mahalo and ENJOY!
