Absolutely loved the cabin. Could use just a few updates. Like new shower heads. The shower doors upstairs sway inward, so you need to be careful with those as you’re sliding them. The beds are so hard that we had to soak in the hot tub each morning after waking up. Could definitely use new mattresses or some toppers. Aside from those, it’s a prefect cabin. Quiet. Peaceful. Close to everything.

Dirty hot tub
Cabin was as expected from the listing when booking. The couch in the living room is very old and broken down.
It was noticeable that the hot tub wasn’t the cleanest. We used hot tub one night, showering when done, and 2 of 4 guests contracted hot tub folliculitis having to see a physician and be treated with an antibiotic. Other than this situation, great cabin and would stay here again.

Horrible Emergency response
There was no water and no electricity since the day we got there, Thursday, December 24th around 6pm until at least Saturday afternoon when we left and had to stay at a hotel. We could not shower, flush the toilets, or make any of the food we brought. We were stuck bundled up during all of Christmas, eating cold sandwiches in 10 degree weather under a flashlight we luckily brought.
I really hope that no other family goes through the horrible experience that we went through not having electricity or water from the day we got in, plus no one to contact and/or no call back from the “emergency” number left at the cabin to call. The temperature at the lowest was 10 degrees outside and made it really cold inside the cabin. Maybe a generator would be nice for your renters so it can be used when something like this happens.
This was due to a snowstorm. We were left there with no one to call, no electricity and no water, they gave an EMERGENCY number to call, we left several messages and no one ever called back until Saturday to apologize for not calling back but never asked if everyone was ok or if we needed anything.
We had reservations until Monday and had to leave on Saturday due to the super, super cold temperature inside the cabin and not to forget that we had no water either. My mom and Dad (who are significantly older) were with me and I stated on one of the voice mails that I was unable to keep them inside that cold cabin without heater.. STILL NO ONE CARED AND NO CALL BACK..
Worse experience ever..!!! Will NOT recommend to use this HEARTLAND CABIN RENTAL, THEY ARE THE WORST WHEN IT COMES TO EMERGENCIES AND TAKING CARE OF THEIR RENTERS.
Country Hideaway was an amazing cabin with awesome amenities and great views.
cabin with awesome amenities and great views. Views would be more amazing if they cut down a few tree limbs. Parrot Mountain is steps away and the most amazing garden of flowers and tropical parrots, that you can hold, feed, and take pictures with! I will be going back real soon!
