Ma'alaea Surf, Unit E1 is a deluxe in every sense. E1 is a conveniently located ground floor unit, just steps away from the large pool and ocean. This unit is splendidly furnished and features AC, Wi-Fi, TV, kitchen, 2 outdoor pools, tennis and pickle ball courts, parking, BBQ areas and washer/dryers in guest laundry rooms on property.

Enjoy ocean front outdoor living on your large private patio (lanai). The beautiful beach fronting the property offers not only spectacular views but also outstanding swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, kayaking and are perfect for leisurely walks or jogs. The maximum occupancy in this unit is 6. All units at Ma'alaea Surf are non-smoking, anywhere in the unit or on property.

Our property is NOT impacted by the recent news regarding potential short-term rental (STR) restrictions in Maui. Because we are zoned as a hotel property, we are exempt from the County of Maui's proposed STR regulations.

The condo has great views of the ocean with walking steps to a beautiful beach. The complex is quite and very well taken care of. The condo has more than enough space for 4 people and the beds were comfortable. The rental manager, Malea, is on top of her game and provided us with everything we needed and gave great advice on local things to do. She was very responsive to all questions/concerns.

Our condo was updated and super clean and had everything we needed with an amazing view. The grounds are meticulous and the staff sets the bar high for other condo locations. Such great people and super responsive to any needs. The complex is quiet, not crowded and you can always find a chair at the pool and spot on the beach to swim in the ocean. Right in the heart of everything local and not super touristy so I almost hate to tell people about it. Central to all the things you want to do on Maui. I will definitely be staying here again. best kept secret on Maui.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is my family's 4th stay over the last decade to Ma'alaea Surf on Sugar Beach in Kihai. This is a great central location which is convenient if you want to explore various spots on the island. We also like the ability to walk long distances on the beach. E1 has been updated and is very nice, with two bedrooms on the ground level. This is a lovely, small complex with several two story buildings. Seems a throw back in time before all the big resorts. It's a different experience than the mega resorts, but fits my family's needs well. Highly recommend. Would love to see them either convert or dual purpose the tennis court for Pickleball!

The grounds and pool maintained to perfection. Managers were friendly, welcoming and very helpful! Can’t wait to return!

Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful time in the unit and Kehei.The place was newly renovated, roomy and beautiful.Great having patio right on the lawn by pool.Great view and just steps to the beach!Unfortunately for us the Big Pool was still being repaired from previous storms. The grounds are great, we had some iffy weather, yet enjoyed beautiful Maui. All the kitchen utensils and appliances were wonderful.We really would have loved to have a few simple things like Salt and Pepper available on arrival. (We bought some and left for the next folks)Malea and Ryan and all the staff were very helpful and friendly.Many of our friends and now we love and would recommend the Ma’alaea Surf as wonderful place to stay. Close to everything and not right in the middle of busier Kehei.

A quiet escape

The pictures on the website do not do justice to the quiet paradise that we got to experience for a week. The rest of Maui was jam packed with people but our beach and resort were like a private getaway from the chaos. The pool was rarely occupied and the beach looked deserted compared to the rest of the island. This was such a relief to come home to after sight seeing on most days. The condo itself was in good condition and everything was very comfortable. We were happy to see some extra supplies like a cooler, beach chairs, etc. Our only complaint with the property was that as the afternoon wind picked up, our sliding glass door would frequently make a loud banging noise as it is a little loose on the sliders. I was afraid that it may shatter on a big gust. The staff were all amazing and we were even able to get checked in several hours early since we arrived in the morning. As we toured the island and saw the huge, expensive (and packed) resorts, we were so thankful to stay here.

Unit E-1 is clean, bright and spacious, well-appointed but not too fussy and within steps to the pool and beach. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and will definitely be back.
