About this property
Bordering RMNP! Big Views, Secluded, 6 Acres with Mountain Stream
Short term rental License Number: 22-ZONE3261 Remodeled with new beds, furniture, kitchen and bathrooms!
Whispering Pines Chalet is the perfect family and hikers vacation destination. We border Rocky Mountain National Park on 6 acres just off Highway 7, and 15 minutes south of Estes Park. This home is very quiet and surrounded by forest and beautiful rock formations. Overlooking the Tahosa Valley, with no neighbors in sight, you can hike, enjoy the wrap-around deck, wander down to the stream on our property or just relax in the house, reading a book, playing games or watching TV. The WiFi allows for receiving WiFi enabled phone calls, plus we have a land line phone for guest use.
We have 2 flat screen 40 inch TVs: upstairs is a Roku TDL TV, and downstairs is a Samsung TV with a Roku stick.
Want to enjoy the mountains, but not be “stuck” in the mountains? Whispering Pines Chalet is perfect. Secluded, it is also only 8 miles from downtown Estes Park where dining, shopping, entertainment and all kinds of activities are available. If you haven’t visited Estes Park before, you will love it. We enjoy many mountain dining choices when we visit.
Do you prefer to hike, fish, golf or even horseback ride? All these activities are available nearby. We are less than 200 yards from the new Storm Mountain Trail which connects to Estes Cone, Eugenia Mine and the famous Longs Peak Trail!
We love the drive down Highway 7 to the tiny hamlet of Allenspark, about 15 minutes to the south. We are close to Estes' pioneer and Park advocate Enos Mill's cabin off Highway 7 and private tours can be arranged. Also in Estes and Allenspark you can visit local art and craft shops. We are near the Longs Peak Trailhead and the wonderful Wild Basin hiking areas.
The best aspect of Whispering Pines Chalet is how it makes you feel - refreshed, renewed and invigorated with the big views of the wilderness areas that surround us. We especially see birds in the forests around us, and hummingbirds enjoy coming around in the morning.
And when you do choose to be at home in our cabin, we provide all the essential comforts that you will need. Relax by the indoor fireplace, watch TV, play games in the dining room or take an inviting nap in one of the comfortable beds that await you. Want to enjoy a home- cooked meal? Our kitchen is ready for you, unless you would prefer to eat on the deck and enjoy the mountain scenery.
We love our home. We know you will too. We hope you will come and visit us during your next stay in the Estes Park area.

Our third time staying here and this time was just as good as all the others. Absolutely beautiful. Teens love have room to explore outside and their own space inside. They have already asked if we can come again next year.
We had the best family vacation and it was even more enjoyable because of this beautiful home. It was very comfortable and spacious, had everything we needed and we couldn’t get enough of the amazing views. We enjoyed many hikes right from the property. We would definitely stay again.
The views were a 10/10. Very beautiful. The cabin accommodated us well. The road leading up to the house gets pretty steep and you just have to pay attention. We could hike a trail nearby which was nice. We enjoyed our visit.
This is a beautiful property tucked away just outside Estes Park. Plenty of room for our family of five. We loved exploring the brook on the property and the hike into RMNP to Eugenia Mine. Ana was easy to communicate with. Great place!
Whispering Pines provided the perfect environment for our family of 9! Plenty of space and beautiful views. Secluded and private while still close to downtown Estes Park. We enjoyed RMNP and also hanging at the house playing games and cooking out. I would definitely recommend!!
The house was exactly as advertised and the views are amazing all the way around. You HAVE TO put out the hummingbird feeder if you stay here!! So many birds came by we felt bad there was only one. Will definitely be getting this property next time we're in the area
This is our second time staying here and this time was just as amazing as the first. We love the location — my teens love hiking up to the mine, climbing the rocks, and exploring the creek, while I love being close to the park and evening walks at Lily lake. The house is great, as the adults can stay upstairs with the kids down in the basement. More than enough room for everyone. We are planning on staying here again next year!
We loved our stay here. The location is great, being close to Estes Park but far enough out to be away from the craziness there during the summer. My teens absolutely loved the property with the rocks to climb and the creek to explore. The house itself was perfect. It is clean, well stocked and has amazing views. The kids appreciated having a separate space in the basement and we enjoyed the quiet of having the upstairs and the views to ourselves! We will definitely stay here again!
Absolutely beautiful property and views with access to trails, try the Eugenia Trail! Property owner has everything you need to cook and stay. Often had breakfast and dinner at the house. Really appreciated the grill. We had two families staying together for a total of eight. The kids and teenager could sleep downstairs, while the adults had the upstairs. Easy access to downtown Estes Park and RMNP.
What a beautiful property! We have stayed at several abnb properties and this was the best. The owner communicates almost immediately if you have questions. The placed was stocked with so many items it felt like home! The plus?? They had a guitar to use and our kids loved it (so did my hubby). This property was close to many things as well. We rarely turned on the TV as there was so much to do just around the property alone! Highly recommend this property.
Beautiful and convenient location- scenic, nice hiking paths; beautiful grounds; close to RMNP and Estes Park; Well-stocked kitchen and nice appliances; Great laundry facilities; Spacious for family groups; Nice bathrooms/showers; Nice deck and wrap-around porch. Was clean in main areas, but is in need of a deep cleaning- dust on walls and behind beds; drawers could be wiped out; comforters could be freshened; kitchen towels were musty and had to be re-washed before use. Also in need of some basic repairs- patio screen door sticks, handle on window comes off and some windows don’t open, but overall it was very nice. I would still recommend. It was a great spot for my husband and myself- early 60’s and our 3 children in their mid-twenties.
We were traveling from Florida during the winter holidays and were looking for a nice cabin to book in the mountains. There were no reviews on the page so I was a little hesitant to book the property but ultimately decided to do so, and I'm glad that I did! It was a beautiful property and was exactly as described in the listing. We were a large group of over 10 and we found that we had more than enough sleeping area. The property was very well kept and clean. The best part about the property is the view: from the dining room and living room area you have an amazing view of the mountains and trees surrounding the property. It snowed a LOT while we were there and it was very beautiful. The only thing I would say is that the drive up to the property was a little scary as we were not used to driving on mountain roads during snow. Other than that we would definitely recommend the property!

We had such an amazing family vacation. The location of this property can’t be beat tucked up in its own private space. Great location to get to RMNP as well as into Estes Park. Plenty of space to accommodate our family.
My extended family and I loved the wrap around upper deck, the views, and the location. Our favorite nearby activity was morning and evening walks at Lily Lake- so picturesque! We had young kids and the living spaces upstairs and downstairs, along with all the rocks outside, gave them room to play. Overall, very happy with our stay at Whispering Pines!
Perfect location. Spectacular views from the wrap around balcony and large windows: Long’s Peak, Estes Cone, Mt Meeker, Twin Sisters. The rock formations surrounding this mt home are easy to climb. Very comfortable home with a well-stocked kitchen. Easy access to Estes Cone trail. The Tahosa Creek area is a favorite of our family. We had fun playing games but we also had a couple times with Netflix when exhausted from hiking. Chipmunks, elk and deer.
The house was perfect for eating, resting, and relaxing. The location was amazing and allowed us to drive into the multiple entrances to RMNP, visit the town, or just explore the property’s boulders and streams.
We stayed at Whispering Pines Mountain Hideaway the week of Christmas 2020 with our adult kids. Let me say this, we honestly couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and Ann, the owner, was an absolute blessing! The home was clean and had everything we needed to cook meals and live there with 10 people for 6 days. The views from the home are absolutely beautiful and the property is very serene. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet getaway in the mountains!
We had an amazing stay and Ann, the owner was the best. We had a snow storm come through the first night and it knocked some trees down and blocked the road. Ann called the snow plow right away and and the within a couple of hours he had plowed the snow and removed the trees. The property is absolutely beautiful and the house had everything we needed. We spent many hours by the comfy fireplace after exploring the property. I will definitely come here again!
Absolutely perfect house for us to stay for our elopement wedding in RMNP. Very secluded location yet an easy and scenic drive to Estes Park. House had everything we needed for the two of us but would easily accommodate larger families. The exploration opportunities around the house are endless. Very very clean house and well maintained.
This was an excellent place to stay for our first time in Colorado. It was secluded and quiet. There were places to hike to from the property. Estes park was just a short drive away. I would recommend this place for large families. Would stay here again.
We loved the place and the views. We slept with all windows open and enjoyed the nice breeze. A few of the windows were hard to open but being on a trip with a few handymen, they decided to fix the windows(because we loved the place so much).
