The stay here was great! It's our second year renting for a siblings weekend in Cape May. Very convenient to everything. We wanted for nothing. Will definitely rent again for next year. The only negative I would say is that the porch furniture needs to be updated. We love to sit out there and enjoy the atmosphere, but the furniture was older and not comfortable.

Perfect location to enjoy all that Cape May has to offer. The house is spacious, clean, cozy (we really appreciated the throw blankets as the weather was chilly) and well appointed. We all loved the ice maker in the kitchen. We highly recommended Fairthorne Cottage for any group looking for a stay in Cape May.

We had an amazing stay and loved how well equipped the house was. The house was in a perfect location and the decor was lovely in all rooms!! It was an awesome time and we will be back again next year!

We stayed in late September. I would rate 3.5 stars if that was an option. The location was excellent and the layout of the home was very good for 3 couples (3 king bed rooms, all with private en suite baths). Plenty of room to spread out. Kitchen was good for cooking at home, with 2 full ovens. However we were disappointed that some basic items were not included: no garbage bags for the kitchen, very little toilet paper, no boxes of tissues, no shower gel dispensers (and no shampoo/conditioner). Also, a few cleanliness issues….cobwebs on several lamps/light fixtures, really stained dish towels, dirt in some drawers. These issues devalued the overall experience.

Charming old Victorian former bed & breakfast, so much fun to stay here and have the whole place to ourselves! The sun porch is for sure the highlight, a perfect place to gather both morning and evening. It was still cold while we were there but plenty warm on the porch, especially with the little electric fireplace going. The place has many of the quirks you'd expect from an old house, and could be more thoughtfully cleaned and maintained, but none of that detracted from our enjoyment. Great place!

Wonderful stay

My girlfriends and I stayed for a weekend at this lovely house. It was very comfortable, with the two living rooms, sunroom and bedrooms with en-suite bath for each of us. The house was walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to visit again!

Beautiful house-perfect location!

This house perfectly met our group’s needs. The rooms were spacious and the large kitchen was layed out well. Perfect location to walk to the beach or shops on the mall. We parked and walked to most restaurants and activities. Really nice home!!!

Cape May Weekend

It was a 70th birthday celebration. The home was beautiful and had just about everything except toilet paper. There was nothing in the description telling us we needed to bring our own. It was located in the heart of Cape May, which made walking to restaurants, shops and the beach very convenient.

The “cottage” is in the perfect location—2 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from Washington Square. The cottage is also within walking distance of a well-stocked grocery store. We had 6 adults and 2 children (2 yrs and 18 months) and there was plenty of room to spread out and eat meals together in the dining room. Each bedroom had a bathroom, which was great. One complaint is many windows were without screens, and it was perfect screen weather. Also, there was no lawn area for play, but that’s what the beach is for. We had 3 cars so we used the two spaces at the house and street parking, which was easy to find right next to the house. There were lots of beach toys and inside toys to keep the kids busy. There was a hodgepodge of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and dishes scattered around in different cupboards. All my past VRBO rentals had been in the south and west, and I’ve never had to rent sheets and towels before (except during COVID). Counting and repackaging them for pickup claimed much of our packing/cleaning time.

Christmas family gataway

Every year our family picks a place to go for a few days to put us all in the Christmas spirit. This year we picked Cape May NJ. We found this home on Vrbo and we can only say from start to finish the experience was wonderful. The house was more then we could have ask for or expected. Is in the perfect location on a block away from Washington street and fully decorated to make the sprite even come more to life. When we go back in the future we will stay here without a doubt.
