Hono Kai C10 is a 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom, 3rd-floor condo that offers tropical views from your private lanai, high-vaulted ceilings, and ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. This property does not have elevators. Unit C10 can accommodate up to 4 guests. The master bedroom is separated from the main living area with lovely Hawaiian-style plantation shutters and has a king-size bed, which can be converted into 2 twin beds upon request. A queen-size sofa sleeper is available for extra guests in the living area that is also equipped with a flat-screen, cable, TV. The en suite bathroom has a walk-in shower stall with an opaque glass divider. The well-stocked kitchen is convenient for making meals in-house. This condo stays cool with 1 wall A/C unit that is located between the bedroom and main living area.

​​​​​​​Hono Kai is a beachfront property where you can enjoy a 6-mile stretch of beach with views of Haleakala and Kaho'olawe, an oceanfront pool, and BQQ areas. Additionally, there is a coin-operated laundry facility for your convenience. Hono Kai is located at Ma'alaea Bay near many attractions, shops, and restaurants. Walk to the Aquarium, enjoy exciting activities from the nearby harbor, play miniature golf and more at Maui Golf & Sports Park, or shop at the Maui Harbor Shops. Ma'alaea is located in central Maui, bringing you closer to either side of the island. There are no resort or parking fees.

I like the property but, only 2 convenient stores and they close at 8pm, Ubers take for ever to come by and if you want to go downtown it’s about a 25min drive to get to local stores and shopping centers.

Perfect location - both in the sense of a base to get to other areas of the island as well as a location in itself. Nice long beach to enjoy morning walks on. Condo had all we needed for the 2 1/2 weeks we stayed - including blender for those fresh island fruit smoothies every morning after our walk. Plus loved having the extra hooks on the bathroom and bedroom doors.

The only potential drawback is that the mattresses (both queen bed and sleeper sofa) are very, very soft and saggy. Not great for people preferring a firm mattress.

This property is in a great location! We had good directions for TV & WiFi! Items are labeled very clearly! The view from the lanai is trees, so not a lot of daylight comes in. We were not there much during the day. The pool is not heated. Laundry facilities were great!

Great place to stay when exploring Maui for 1st time

This was our first time to Maui and overall was a perfect place for us since we were out exploring and just needing a place to sleep. Pros:Communication was great, unit was clean, quiet, comfortable, easy to find, easy check in and a great location! The small gift was a welcomed surprise and very thoughtful! Pros: Quite a few gnats in the bathroom upon ck-in. They did go away after the 2nd day. The coffee maker leaked coffee all over the counter, there were several carpet stains and the furniture is rather aged and could use a lift. We didn’t feel the need to contact the owner because we did want to disrupt our trip for pest control or a new coffee maker and the carpet and furniture were what they were. Again not a negative experience at all, just communicating our experience and what could be improved upon if chosen. Thank you

Cozy, Centerally Located, Well-stocked Home

Upon arriving, I found it easy to find the condo unit. Inside, the condo is well-stocked with kitchen equipment, beach goodies, an oh-so-comfy bed, and a porch with views of the ocean. I enjoyed leaving the windows open, letting the calmming sound of the waves crashing woo me to sleep, and the singing songs of the birds greet me in the mornings. I appreciated the concierge service that comes with the condo - a welcomed surprise. I used them to book a few excursions during my stay. The property itself is beautiful. The tropical garden that lines the condo is full of wonder and color every single day. The view of the east mountains and west mountains from one side of the condo, and the ocean off the other side made me smile every single day. The views never got old. The lounge chairs, tables and chairs were quite convenient, so were the grills. Easy access to Sugar Beach entertained my mornings as I took in the sights at sunrise and sunset. A direct view of the harbor gives something to talk about as all the expedition boats set off for tours and return each day. I felt safe while on the property, and the locals that live in the condo helped make the stay extra welcoming/ I would definitely recommend this condo to a solo travler or couple. Mahalo for the love and for opening your condo to visitors!

Great location for Couples

We had a wonderful week in Maui. This condo is located very close to Ma'alaea harbor and there is a small public beach access in easy walking distance. The apartment itself was clean and worked fine for our needs. The unit is a bit run down and shows signs of age and wear and tear (furniture, trim, broken screen/room divider), but it was comfortable and quiet and wasn't an issue for us. We appreciated the camp chairs, snorkel gear, and umbrella that were in the unit, as well as the fan and AC unit. There had been a storm a few weeks before we arrived that damaged several palm trees near the pool and caused damage to the sea wall. They were actively repairing that while we were there and it didn't cause any issues with our stay. You are not able to swim in the ocean directly in front of the condo due to rocks and the sea wall, but we could walk a short distance over the rocks and down to sand. We loved walking along the beach stretch in the morning as the sun came up and we were able to see many whales in the water. Be aware that the available parking in the lot is very narrow and limited, so larger vehicles will have trouble parking here. We were in a full size car and were very glad that we didn't have anything larger as the parking spots are very narrow. We ended up parking outside of the lot on the street one night because someone parked too close to their line and made the spot next to them impossible to park in.

Simple Condo in the Perfect Location

With so much time spent exploring, this condo met all the basic needs. There was a beautiful breeze and no need to the A/C. The only downside was the rooster that started crowing everyday at 4am. We would definitely stay again.

First time I've stayed in Maalaea & this property is a perfect place to be. At the end of a dead-end street, you'll be directly on a beautiful sand beach. Perfect central Maui location for whatever adventures you want to take. The unit itself is clean & comfortable, as described. Well equipped kitchen made it easy to cook basic meals. Comfortable king bed, sofa & chairs. Nice private Lanai. Highly recommend for a couple or single person
