This property is appropriately named, as we saw deer grazing and wondering through almost every day. The description accurately describes the home, features, and views. And the drive up through the Pisgah Forest subdivision!!It's remote and secluded, but worth the journey!!

Beautiful home - inside and out

Really enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and perfect for a getaway in the mountains. We especially enjoyed the herd of deer running and playing in the backyard - didn't know that deer can get the "zoomies" like dogs do. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Amazing private retreat!

We had an amazing time staying at Deer Path! Our kids loved playing in the creek and seeing the deer and bunnies in the backyard at dusk/dawn. A close drive (20 minutes) to Brevard for fun restaurants and entertainment, Pisgah National Forest for beautiful hikes, and more. The property was very clean, well stocked with cleaning supplies, dish and laundry soap, cooking/utensils, firewood for fire pit (we did not partake but saw the supply), games, and internet was nice for tv or calls when we were indoors. The management team was very responsive in helping us and got back to us promptly with any questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Outstanding

Our family had a fabulous time at this home. It is in outstanding condition and so clean. There were so many games and toys for my grandchildren plus all of the outside games that are available. The kitchen had everything you could possible need along with some great surprise items. The creek and the large backyard are added bonuses and its location so close to Dupont State Forest and Brevard is another plus. Would love to stay here again.

Thank you for your review. Ken and I spoke concerning these issues. We were certainly not aware of any hot water issues from any of our dozens of previous guests. We've made arrangements to have someone check the plumbing as well as clean the jetted tub. Thanks again for your valuable input!

Always our favorite

This home has become a "usual" getaway for us when we want to escape to the mountains. The location is perfect for outdoor activities with Dupont State Park and Pisgah National Forest just a few minutes away. We love riding our bikes in Dupont and it's super close. The home is well stocked and has everything we need for a comfortable stay. Some days, we just love hanging out at the house. The peaceful setting makes it extremely relaxing when you just want to curl up with a book or have a movie marathon. The kitchen is well designed to make delicious meals to enjoy as you watch the sunset. I think the master bedroom has a new bed, which was a little too firm for me, but my husband loves it! I think this is our 4th or 5th stay, and we plan on going back as much as possible.

Two Week Vacation

Our family of six spent two great weeks enjoying Western North Carolina. The house is lovely, well stocked with everything anyone could need, even outdoor games and clean with plenty of room. It is located up a very steep, winding road with a few dangerous curves. Also there is a problem with the hot water. Every time we need to use hot water, we had to make a trip to the basement and reset the hot water (it's tankless) and with six people we were making a lot of trips to the basement. The problem was reported to the property management but as of this writing still not repaired. Also we were without water for 24 hrs apparently due to lightning striking the pump. We had to stay at a hotel which the property management reimbursed. The pump was replaced. There are plenty of things to do in this area; such as, mountain biking at DuPont, hiking in Pisgah Forest and visiting Sierra Neveda Brewery.

Thank you so much Mary for your feedback. Both the owners and I take your vacation very seriously and we sincerely appreciate and react quickly to any and all feedback that we receive. We have spent hundreds of hours trying to make our guest’s vacation at Laurel Creek Mountain Retreat a five-star experience. After we were made aware of the tankless hot water issue, I was at the house within two hours and changed out the GFCI in order to resolve the issue. Apparently this did not repair the problem as it was due to a larger issue in that lightning may have struck the house. We found out a few days later that a lightning strike had indeed struck the house and it had not only taken out the well pump but also damaged the tankless hot water heater. After receiving a second phone call I was at the property in twenty minutes. I called our well company and they were there in less than an hour. We had a new well pump installed the next morning and restored water service by 11 AM. In the meantime, I apologized and let the guests know and we would put them up in a hotel of their choice. They were very understanding and I told them if they needed anything at all to just let me know and I would take care it. I met and got to know some of the family while we were replacing the well pump. I very much enjoyed talking with them and thought they were all warm and friendly people. They were very gracious and understanding about the water issue as one of them is a contractor and another is a property manager. The home has all the water issues resolved and we handled everything as soon as we received the two phone calls. We have been renting and managing vacation rental homes for over twelve years and unfortunately things out of our control do happen on rare occasions. It is our number one priority to see that our guests are well taken care while staying at our properties and that’s why we have received over one-hundred five-star reviews on multiple vacation rental web sites. We look forward to hosting many more guests and hope that Mary and her family will visit again very soon! Sincerely, Ron Mashburn, Owner Asheville Realty & Rentals

Fine - with exceptions

Lovely place, clean, well stocked., nicely decorated.... But really, a queen bed of extreme height is not a good choice for a vaca rental; it was wrong for us and truly lacks universal appeal. It was not only too small for two average - not large - adults, but just felt unsafe. We did not sleep well the whole week. Speaking of unsafe: we walked the property, including the sloping driveway, which looked fine to the naked eye but was in places covered by algae/fungi/some kind of growth that turned out to be horribly slippery. In an instant, I fell hard on my backside and am still injured. Not a happy ending to a fairly nice stay, except for the bed issue.

Perfect mountain getaway

This is a beautiful home in the perfect spot for all the outdoor fun offered in western NC. We were minutes away from Dupont State park (we actually rode our bikes there and back). The Blue Ridge Pkwy is about 50 minutes away, and Pisgah National Forest about 45 minutes. The house itself is extremely well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen in a VRBO home. It was comfortable and private with beautiful sunsets. The sound of the nearby creek was a perfect backdrop to reading a book on the screened back porch. I can't say enough about this place. We loved it, and we will go back!

Mountain Paradise

Exceeded our expectatations. Was easy access for our family to visit the Biltmore, Pisgah Forest Waterfalls, and Blueridge Parkway. The place was super clean, inviting and felt like home from the time we stepped in the front door. This was also one of the most well stocked rentals we ever had. Cant say enough positive things about it. Thinking about making another visit this fall.

We vacationed at this beautiful home several years before purchasing it in November 2023.  The proximity to all the outdoor adventures we love is what brought us here over and over again.  It became our favorite vacation spot!  Now that it is our home, we want to share it with others who have similar interests in the outdoors.  Bring your family or friends, toys, your sense of adventure and make some of your best memories, here at Deer Path.  David and Lynda Ward, Owners

Why they chose this property

Cycling is our favorite outdoor activity and our home is in the middle of more trails, forests, and roads than you can imagine.  Nearby Brevard is called the Land of Waterfalls, so if hiking is on your list, you will literally find hundreds of hiking trails in this area.  The Davidson and French Broad rivers are within minutes of the house for extraordinary fly fishing and kayaking.

What makes this property unique

While our home is situated in a serene and tranquil location, it is convenient to Brevard and Hendersonville for shopping and all the attractions these towns have to offer.
