Welcome to Catahoula Lodge! This beautifully renovated mountain cabin is situated on 4+ acres of wooded privacy. Inside you will find spacious bedrooms, maple hardwood flooring, brand new bathrooms and new cabinets, countertops and appliances! Two wood stoves and a beautiful rock chimney provide that great cabin experience. Step outside and enjoy the wrap-around porches that surround all sides of the house. A beautiful mountain stream at our northern border completes the outdoor options--great
spot to play in the water or have a picnic. The large fenced yard provides security for kids or pets.
Located just 1-1/2 miles south of Dupont State Park and five miles north of Ceaser's Head, this is the perfect location for hiking, biking, horseback riding, waterfalls and so much more! The turnoff for the Pretty Place chapel is just three miles to the south--with spectacular views of the South Carolina panorama. We are about 10 minutes from Brevard--voted one of the best small towns in America! Brevard is loaded with art galleries, pottery and weaving, excellent restaurants and shopping. Hendersonville has even more and is about 15 miles to the east. Asheville is north about 30 miles.
The house offers a private and quiet setting to enjoy the outdoors. Two HD satellite TV's and Wifi keep you in touch with the outside world. Toughest decision of your day? We had a good stay overall — the home and location were great, and the owner was flexible in helping us prepone our booking by a day. The only issue was the toilet flush not working properly, and the response to that concern was slower than expected. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience.

Location was between our son and his family in Hendersonville and our other son and his wife in Nashville. We got to see both of our boys. Very pet friendly house. Nice fenced in back yard.

Serene, charming home near beautiful hiking places. A home that loves birds. When you sit outside on the porch, not only does it feel playful but completely calm as you are surrounded by nature. You become nature. You breathe in nature. A place to escape chaos and to become more centered.My dogs enjoyed the fenced backyard. That was very helpful for us. Listening and sitting around the fireplace at night was nice and relaxing. It would give that warmth we all needed to contemplate our trip.

We had a great time at Cedar Mountain! The beds are comfortable, living spaces spacious for different groups, and outdoor space was perfect for any time of day or group. Our old dog was comfortable inside and out!

We love the chill, inviting firepit area. The location is perfect as it is close to Pisgah, downtown Brevard, and DuPont. The owners are responsive and great to work with.

The description was accurate with the exception of accessibility to a stream. My husband spent 20 minutes navigating the dense underbrush and when he finally found it there were signs posted private property do not enter, it was apparently not properly owners stream. Access to stream was a significant reason we booked this location.

Awesome location if you hike every day like we do! Never drove more than 25 minutes to a trailhead. Most days it was less than 15 minutes’ drive. Good cafes 5 minutes away. Huge, quiet front porch where we spent most of our non-hiking time was surrounded by trees.

Family vacation 2025

Cabin was great. Enough room inside and out for every one including the 2dogs. Only problem we had was some of the dishes were not clean and some of the kitchen counters were sandy but nothing that soap and water could not handle. Also you do have unwanted house guests…flies…but the kids( young and old) had fun catching them and throwing them outside. Overall we had a GREAT time!

We have vacationed in western North Carolina for more than 20 years. We love outdoor activities and enjoy these mountains year round. I went to summer camp near Brevard and have loved this area my whole life.

What makes this property unique

The property is uniquely private and quiet. The covered porches make it possible to enjoy the surroundings regardless of the weather. There are two wood stoves that keep the house toasty in the winter months. The recent renovations have made this an exceptionally beautiful and comfortable home in a rustic setting. Enjoy your favorite beverage in the rockers or porch swing while you take in the amazing scenery!
